When I was a kid my mom did something like this. We kids never
scribbled on the walls or the TV or the sofa because we had plenty of
chalk board and paper (she bought giant rolls of inexpensive newsprint)
to play with. My brother and I enjoyed the heck out of it and we have
fond memories of some of the silly illustrated stories we made up
together.

As a follow-up on the 'course in primary colours' the images of Keith Haring
come to my mind. They are excellent decorations for a big room, since you can
easily copy and magnify them. They are basic and bright coloured, and I've
always found them to bring a positive atmosphere to a room. I'd pick one really
big one for one wall and paint another wall in the same colour. Then you can
pick a few smaller ones in different colour for the 3d wall and use the chalk
board paint on the 4th. You could do the same with the Miffy figures, which
are also basic and easily copied. And their inventor (Dick Bruna, Dutch guy!!)
has many more similar figures that you could use.
Can you tell I *love* interior decorating? ;) I wish I could draw it out...
