I am looking for a source to buy mobilehome entry and deadbolt locks from. My
home is a Patriot, and has what I beleive to be Weiss locks in them. They are
not the normal type locks, the bolt mechanisim consists of a bolt inside a
plastic sleeve, which is inserted into the door. If anyone has any
information, it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi:

I've just used regular "household" locks on mobile home doors. I've gone to
measures to reinforce the jambs with longer screws. But I doubt you'll need to
buy a special lock for a mobile home door, regardless of swing out or in
types.

There are many items that you can buy for your mobile home at any local home
or hardware center. And when it comes time to replace plumbing fixtures, think
about converting them with fittings to use regular household fixtures. Then,
you'll be able to buy a wider variety of parts at better prices than most
mobile home specialty stores.

We stock the locks you are referring to.
Mobile home locks use a 2 3/8" backset with a drive-in latch. The lock
you have should be a Weiser lock, but it can be replaced with the same,
e-z set or others as long as they are 2 3/8 drive in latch.
We also carry matching deadbolts.
Locks and deadbolts are available in stainless steel finish, polished
brass or antique brass.

Or call 724-437-6722 (Vicki or Anna)
Hope this helps some--you should also be able to purchase the lock
locally if you tell them the above info---cost $15-$20 each.

Which Patriot do you have, and what year?

Recent Patriot Indiana built homes have a brand called "E-Z Set."

You can buy them from any Patriot/Victorian/Lincoln Park/Crystal
Valley/EnergyMate dealer. They usually keep these items in stock.

I replaced all of the passage door locksets with a good quality lever
set. I found that I had to mortise in the square plate on the door.
