Interesting! I talked to the Palm Harbor factory in Siler City, NC last
week and was told Palm Harbor does NOT use 2X6 exterior framing, they
only use 2X4. Also that they use Eljer (spelling) fixtures throughout.
And that they only have a one year warranty.

Palm Harbor homes built for the Northern States have 2x6 framing.

You will find that homes built in different factories have different
features. Moen in one plant, Elijer in another. Kinro windows in 1
plant, Phillips in another. GE in one and Whirlpool in another.

Also, framing, floor decking, insulations all vary from region to
region.

Patriot builds 2x4 exterior walls in Texas and Alabama, but 2x6 in
Indiana in it's Victorian and Lincoln Park homes.

A Fleetwood in Oregon is entirely different from a Fleetwood in Florida.

Strange. We bought a Palm Harbor home and it has 2X6 exterior framing, Moen
faucets, GE appliances and a 5 year warranty. It is a great home.
Extremely well insulated. In the last week, we've had over 16 inches of
snow and the house is extremely snug. We are heating just with the wood
stove we had installed. We are very pleased with our home.

Just checking for you, have you installed a carbon monoxide detector?
I would strongly suggest it.

PS, All manufacturers I deal with have a 2 x 6 wall as an option. Low to high
end.

My one year old Palm Harbor was built in Plant City Florida. It has 2x6 exterior
walls.
I am located about 5 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and require the most stringent
wind capabilities. The subtle downside is that the interior dimensions shrunk by
the extra two inches.
BTW the plumbing fixtures are by Kohler. The vanity sinks are not the plastic junk
my friends have in their Jacobson.

I stand corrected....multiple times :-) Thanks!
I will call Siler City and get to the bottom of their comment on Monday.

This is fact. I have owned a Palm Harbor home before. It's a real
decent house.
