Camera seems to only have one shutter speed no mater where speed dial is
set. Battery good. Time delay works. Red arrow in view finder is there but
stays at bottom of numbers. I have not used camera for a couple years .
Worked last time I used it. Have gone through user manual to see if I forgot
something. Any ideas welcome. TIA

Try to move more times the shutter time dial, the diaphragm ring and the ASA
setting ring. If there are some oxidations on these contacts it is possible
with this movements to clear and to reestablish the correct functionality.
Remenber that in "A" position of the shutter time dial, the shutter time
must change in relation of the light conditions.
If nothing happens and if you love this camera, find another on eBay, there
are plenty of XG cameras in fine condition for $10 or $20. Repair the XG-1
it is possible but it is very probably the price of restoration the your
camera is higher than to buy another.
