Navy Blue Angels Schedule, 1999

NAVY BLUE ANGELS 1999 AIR SHOW SCHEDULE
The Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, have
announced their show schedule for the 1999 show season. Following
pre-season training from Jan. 3 to March 12, 1999 the team will begin
their season on March 13 at Naval Air Facility, El Centro, Calif., and
will conclude on Nov. 13, 1999 at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla.
The Blue Angels will fly 68 shows at 36 locations in the United States
and Canada during the 1999 season.
A Blue Angels air demonstration is a mix of formation flying and solo
routines using F/A-18 Hornets. The pilots perform about 30 maneuvers
during the aerial demonstration which runs approximately an hour and
15 minutes.
Demonstration sites are selected to support the objectives of the
Department of Defense and the interests of the Armed Services with
safety as the primary consideration. Performances greatly assist the
recruiting and retention goals of the military services, enhance
esprit de corps among uniformed men and women, as well as demonstrate
the professional skills and capabilities of the U.S. Armed Forces to
the American public and U.S. allies.
