Did the Apostle Paul ever say, he himself was the Messiah?

---
[1 Cor 1:10-13] (KJV)
10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our
Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing,
and that there be no divisions among you; but that
ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind
and in the same judgment.

11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren,
by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are
contentions among you.

12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul;
and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye
baptized in the name of Paul?
---

And for those that don't like the old english...

---
[1 Cor 1:10-13] (NIV)
10 I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our
Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one
another so that there may be no divisions among
you and that you may be perfectly united in mind
and thought.

11 My brothers, some from Chloe's household have
informed me that there are quarrels among you.

12 What I mean is this: One of you says, "I follow Paul";
another, "I follow Apollos"; another, "I follow Cephas";
still another, "I follow Christ."

13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you?
Were you baptized into the name of Paul?
---

And the answer is a resounding no, which Paul directly states.

So, what is the "contentions among you"?

But... I am convinced, that if you only had ONE of the Gospels
as your ONLY source of reading material (ie: Matthew),
you would do well understanding the works and salvation
which is through Jesus Christ.

And consider this...
Most people at that time, didn't even have That.

Jesus did not suggest the Apostles should argue out their differences
and come to a consensus on the doctrine. That was Paul's idea. Paul
was playing the Pharisee, insisting on a single unified doctrine so
that heresy could be adjudged -- and punished in the grand old style
of Moses. See Deut. 13.

I doubt he did this of his own.

Is Christ divided?

But, that everyone should be of one mind. One Gospel. Not dozens.

I see nothing wrong with that.

Correct Terri, One doctrine says, "Leave them alone." and the other
says hunt them down and condemn them, let the be MaranaTha and
accursed. One says, kick them out if they don't agree, the other says,
the Physician comes for those who are sick, not the righteous. :)

Here a bunch more you dug up earlier:

2Co 11:10 As the truth of the Messiah is in me..
2Co 12:9 ..that the power of the Messiah may rest upon me.
2Co 13:3 …the Messiah speaking in me
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with the Messiah: …the Messiah liveth in me
Gal 4:14 And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor
rejected; but received me as an angel of Elohim, even as the Messiah
Yashua.

As usual, you take the passage out of context, without
fully understanding what was written.

Believe what you will. It doesn't matter.

As I have already said...

If your faith only allows for the Gospels and nothing else,
so be it.

It says saved in the day OF the Lord Jesus. How do you figure
it isn't by the Lord Jesus ?

But yeah, Paul is sending them to hell before they receive the Holy
Spirit, knowing full well they will never get to heaven without the
Holy Spirit.

Just goes to show that its better to treat people with love and
respect then it is to be 'right' in our own minds. Love is after all
the greatest command.

Think about this before you reply...

1) What was Paul's appointed ministry?
2) Was there anyone Else there to Baptize?
3) If so, what was their appointed ministry?

THOU SHALT NOT KILL

Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and
with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength:
this is the first commandment.

Mark 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Christ did not mention Paul by name, not even one time

THOU SHALT NOT KILL.

Here is what it looks like to me: many here have believe they
have found a way around the Law in Paul, but delivering up
someone to be killed isn't an act of love...it's an act that leads
to murder.

An endorsement of Paul is an endorsement of murder, and to prove
this is true is simple; many so called Christians support capital
punishment.

Now I know what might be coming next, the "we have jesus to cover
our sins" argument...

no you don't...it s deliberate sin. It wasn't an act of self defense
or the defense of another. You planned this out and turned two people
over to be murdered.

*It doesn't say to be an active part of their murder*! If you know
they will be killed YOU ARE a part of it and just as guilt as the person
who does the killing.

You know I see many of you saying a lot about loving the sinner and
hating the sin...but I don't see you doing it...

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with
all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.

Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour
as thyself.

Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Killing isn't an act of love, never has been and never will be.
it's an act of depraved indifference to everything except venting
hatred.

As you can see....and at the bottom it is all brought into focus;
in Matthew 22:40...

and just when you think you have found a way around the commandments
you see Matthew 22:37-40....<smiling...>

Anyone outside the church was at risk of suffering disease and death
from Satan. Only believers could overcome and cast out the devils. And
if you'll look at the surrounding verses, it is clear that Paul is
talking about excommunicating the man; he was to "be taken away from
among you" (I Cor. 5:2); they were not to company with him or eat with
him (I Cor. 5:11).

1Co 5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you,
and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles,
that one should have his father's wife.
1Co 5:2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he
that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
1Co 5:3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have
judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so
done this deed,
1Co 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered
together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
1Co 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the
flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
1Co 5:6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven
leaveneth the whole lump?
1Co 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new
lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed
for us:
1Co 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither
with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened
bread of sincerity and truth.
1Co 5:9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with
fornicators:
1Co 5:10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or
with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must
ye needs go out of the world.
1Co 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any
man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an
idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an
one no not to eat.

THOU SHALT NOT KILL.....written by God.

Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with
all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Breaking a commandment isn't loving God, leading your sinning
neighbor to his and her death isn't LOVING GOD

Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.

Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour
as thyself.

Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

breaking the commandments isn't living up to them in Matthew 22:37-40,

it's deliberate sin. God isn't going to crucify His Son a second time
for anyone.

Satan was called the god of this world; they didn't have to go to hell
to be subjected to Satan and the devils.

This I would agree with if this is what Paul was doing, but with
Paul's past history it's a leap in faith that I am not ready to
make, at least not until I know more about him as a person.
I want to point out that there are some
here who think it is fitting to turn a sinner over to be killed
and will do so. They believe they can justify it by Paul's words,
but it is clear what Matthew 22:37-40 says about it.

I am going to keep what you have said to me in mind as I
study him thru outside sources.

And why would Christ did not mention Paul by name, not even one time ?

I can see what you are saying from your viewpoint, but with Paul's
past history.....hmmmm.

You're saying that "THOU SHALT NOT KILL" means nothing. You confirm
that it happened and then drive them away from you. Leave them for God
to kill, He can do His own dirty work.

Rod, have you ever heard of "Tough Love" ?

I knew of a situation between some parent's and their son.
The son became so out of control with drugs and behaviour,
that the parents were completely out of choices, by their
own means.

The school principle, had also called several times complaining
that he was causing too many problems. He had been given
counseling several times, to no avail.

In the end, they were out of options. They sent him to a
Rehab Clinic. When he came out three months later, he
understood that his parents did that for his own good.

This son was not killed - but rather learn his lesson and
return back to his parents.

This is just one example, but that is what the message is.

This isn't a part of the gospel of Christ.

God has said to separate ourselves from evil.

Premeditated or unplanned, it's all killing in the end.

I know you do, or

Just how dead are we talking about here, hmmm...? Dead a week ? Dead
a month ? Dead a year ? Road kill ?

He was talking to men about killing one another, not about eating
animal flesh. You've changed the context to avoid the facts.

I knew this already..

THOU SHALT NOT KILL was originally THOU SHALT NOT MURDER. Paul is
turning them over to be murdered, he knows that they will be killed
in the flesh. That is murder, pure and simple.

They were murdered. THOU SHALT NOT KILL. Murder is no more than
a planned killing.

just as

AIDS was a product of people who practiced sex with animals. It was
not a product of a god enraged at mens sexual pratices. AIDS has already
been traced to the source cause. it's the natural reaction of mixing
human antibodies and micro organisms with the micro organism's and
antibodies alive and operating in monkey flesh. The end product was
lethal.

You're leading this conversation down a strange path....

> That is what they

So you are saying that man has so much evil inherent in himself that
he must invent an unseen character to place blame on. Well, I'm not a
believer in satan per se but I do recognize that evil entities do
exist. I think somehow that "satan" is nothing more than a scapegoat
on which men can place blame for their evil deeds and shirk the
responsibility for their actions.

That is a far cry from turning someone over to be murdered.

You have to appreciate knowing what these people consider "love".
Don't wonder why the country is in a mess and the media filled with
violence... it's "tough love" Christian style.
