In my opinion, Cultural Marxism and it's derivative, feminism are the most important reasons for the same.
The online article, "Feminism and National Defense", which appears in the men's rights site, "The American Gentleman", explains how the same have had an very deleterious effect on national defense and the ability and willingness of young men to serve in the U.S. Military.
