Netgods, this ng's so-called 'ascended masters', are (maybe) just
mortals practising Borgian Memetics as they subsume individuals to the
extent that individuals are unconscious. Now memes are to collectives as
genes are to biological organisms, and, as Gurdjieff once pointed-out,
most individuals fail to be individuals and end up as cells in social
organisms controlled by the collective's memetic field, like the Borg.

I've created a funny thread mocking a spamming fake guru. This is
more entertaining than Dilbert, to me.

And I'm guessing it is a lot more entertaining than Swann's new-age
video or whatever he's hawking would be.

Being a fake "cybershaman" is not creative. It's worn-out hippy crap.

Getting all fucked up on drugs does not make one enlightened. It simply
makes one high as a motherfucker.

And it's toxic and tiresome when one tries to convince others that the
muddled brain farts that come from their drug use has some kind of
"meaning".

I have seen dozens and dozens of these tiresome little guru wannabes and
they all have one thing in common - they can't stand to be challenged and
they have little piss fits when they are.

Hmm. You realize that "people who can't stand you" is not a set exclusive
to "stupid people", right?

In fact, it is quite likely that the subset of "people who like you" is
much larger than the subset of "people who can't stand you" in the set of
"stupid people", and just the inverse in the set of "not stupid people".

silence is something that people with nothing to add, except criticism
never get...but really all I tried to do is tell people about Cognition
Factor in what I thought was an interesting and challenging way. But
then this is usenet and reactions here don't appear to've changed in 15
years. So if you look at one of the topics of the movie which is, 'The
Evolution of Consciousness', then you realise that it's very topical for
alt.slack and alt.religion.kibology because they are the ones who need
this the most:)

At a dinner party last Saturday night someone mentioned the literary
genre of "religious fiction". "That's redundant," I pointed out.
People laughed. The whole thing took like 5 seconds, not 5 years.

### - fringe theatre and cinema is perfectly respectable, the haunt of true
artists

but if all you know about is the 'porn' genre, then it's like trying to explain
culture to a jellyfish raised on a fast-food diet of hollywood soundbites and
pepsi-cola adverts :)
