Dear Friends and Supporters,
It was my great pleasure and honor to present to
Maharishi today, on Raam Navami, the fruits of our
collective, global effort to achieve $100 million
for Permanent World Peace.
I reported that as of today, we have raised $71,422,000
in firm pledges, NOT including pledges from between 10
and 30 potential Course participants, who are striving
to achieve liquidity as soon as possible. This is a
truly miraculous achievement--absolutely remarkable in
comparison to any prior effort in the history of our
Movement.
Maharishi reflected very carefully and deeply on this
great achievement, and on the sincere efforts of
thousands of donors who contributed, including those
who pledged $1 million or more for World Peace.
In appreciation of these donors, and especially in
consideration of the urgent need of the world, Maharishi
agreed that we should go ahead and hold the Enlightenment
Course as planned. Also, we will continue to accept
applications and donations until the start of the Course
on Guru Purnima.
Then, upon reflecting further on the state of the world,
Maharishi began to feel a greater and greater sense of
urgency. He began to question Dr. Hagelin on the detailed
technology and destructive impact of nuclear weapons upon
human life and civilization.
Feeling deeply concerned about the welfare of the world,
Maharishi began to think about what he, personally, could
do immediately to avert the further escalation of violence
in the world. His solutions:
1. Collect the $71,422,000 in donations, and use this to
expand the number of Vedic Pandits in India IMMEDIATELY.
2. Hold the Enlightenment Course IMMEDIATELY! Preferably
within a week!! Maharishi felt that the extremely profound
activity of this most special course would itself provide
a major protective influence for the world.
Maharishi is investigating the feasibility of augmenting
existing housing in MERU (Vlodrop) with luxury temporary
accommodations, after first rejecting any possibility of
holding the Course via videoconference in places where he
physically could not be present.
We mentioned that, in all likelihood, some Course
participants might not be able to free themselves from
existing responsibilities in time to travel to MERU on
such short notice. He agreed to hold a second Enlightenment
Course beginning on Guru Purnima, if necessary, but would
not be deterred from holding a Course now.
"Time and tide wait for no man. We do not know what will
happen to the world in three to four months. And for the
donors who are giving their precious wealth of life--a
million dollars--we had best make hay while the sun shines."
All donors should therefore strive to fulfill their pledges
within the next two days--even those who may not be able to
attend the Course starting immediately. These crucial
resources will allow Maharishi to move ahead aggressively
with the Vedic Pandits in India. This effort will begin
immediately, by using our already-existing sites and
accommodations in the Brahmasthan of India and elsewhere.
Congratulations, everyone, on a most fantastic and historic
achievement! On the strength of your efforts and your
response, Maharishi has decided to move ahead full force
to secure Peace in the world. As the numbers grow in India,
we will soon start to feel relief from global violence and
war, as waves of peace and happiness begin to fill the world.
But we must continue to strive to expand our numbers to
achieve our crucial goal of $100 million, so that Maharishi
can complete this historic effort to gather 10,000 Vedic
Pandits by year's end, without threat of interruption. We
are closer to achieving Permanent Peace on Earth than at
any time in human history. Let us not rest until we have
accomplished the goal.

I'm writing this from my "Year 2000 bunker", which still had food and
water supplies. I'm going to wait this out there.
I sure hope some more millionaires cough up the wherewithall before it's
too late.
