What a vindictive nasty thing to say to another human being;the maharishi
effect perhaps.

The above sounds rather vindictive and nasty!

Aren't we all animals at some level? You know, Pet r us.

Hey, that's nothing; you should see the stuff I hurled
at the Buddhist proselytute formerly known as Dhamma Dog.

Gotta be careful jumping to conclusions about the
"before-and-after" attributes of TMers.

First, you don't really know what we're like just
from a few online exchanges; but more to the point,
you have *no* idea what we were like *before* TM.

Case in point: after TM I'm merely sarcastic.
Before TM I was physically violent.

You might have come from a monkey. But I centainly did not.

So you do understand that words have meaning eventhought they might appear
meaningless to you. That is progress.

But you're apparently rapidly progressing in that direction,
in an astounding feat of reverse evolution.

That words have meanings has never been at issue.

The point is that they have no *intrinsic* meaning.
The issue has been over the sort of context required
to imbue words with meanings.

Your confusion over that simple distinction is the only
reason why this issue, which could have been settled in
a brief exchange between two rational beings, has instead
dragged on for days and dozens of hopelessly befuddled posts.

I would say "get a clue" -- but first you'd need to realize
that you don't have one. If you don't even have a clue
that you don't have a clue, then it's hard to say where
you should start. Get a meta-clue, I guess.

Oh, yeah, something I forgot to mention, Paul:

Petrus is the guy who posted to the list his notion that
my name "Delia" indicated that I had patterned myself after
the evil and murderous mother of the Antichrist in the
B grade horror flick "Omen IV." Charming, eh?

But then maybe it's just vindictive of me to mention that.

Magic Item: Pet Rock - ok - stop laughing.

These semi-intelligent creatures are composed of common rock and a vein
of semi-precious or collectable stone. They are always roundish in
appearance. If held or touched, the PetRock can be heard within the
mind of the holder (limited form of telepathy). PetRocks have no
discernable movement, nor do they seem to eat, age, or breathe. They do
love to talk, and talk, and talk...apparently some people enjoy their
murmuring incessant babble. As with all intelligent creatures, PetRocks
have an alignment, though no diety is known to be worshipped among them.

Actually it was Legion that posted that one. I just tried to see whether
what story you would give about that post. And if I remember correctly we
caught you in a lie. Something about earthlink not accepting 5 character
emails addresses when they allow from 4 -20 or something like that. Willy
is the one who mentioned that your name was not Delia but Denise D. Amazing
how short the memory of some people is. Could your post be considered
vindictive. I would say so.

Oh, that's right; you were just the cheering section.
Well, I should probably have thought twice before
suggesting that you had actually once had an original
thought in your head.

The thing is, I never saw Legion's post, and I did
see yours; and you seemed to be pushing that loopy
theory pretty vigorously; at least until you realized
how silly and paranoid it made you look.

> I just tried to see whether what story you would give
> about that post.

Yeah, right. The 'story' was simply that I hadn't seen it.
Once I did see it, via your post, I thought it quite hilarious.

> And if I remember correctly we caught you in a lie.

No, you dingbat, you didn't.

> Something about earthlink not accepting 5 character
> emails addresses when they allow from 4 -20 or something

Right. I forget whether it was that they wanted a minimum
of 6 characters or whether they wanted a numeral too, or what.
But there was some definite reason why they wouldn't let me
use just "delia" in my email address -- which I was a tad
annoyed with at the time.

I don't know when you did your little cloak-and-dagger
sleuthing act trying to check up on me, but it seems
like just a few weeks ago; whereas I signed up for
Earthlink years ago. Their policy may well have changed.

Anyway, if you were using your brains (?) here, Petrock,
it would be obvious that adding a number to my email address
is hardly something that I'd be motivated to lie about,
in any case. (Even if I were a liar, which I'm not.)

And as for your dippy horror-movie theory about my name,
I just checked the release date, and it was 1991;
I've been using the name Delia since 1986 or 1987.

Mother only to Chelsea, the killer kitty,
who may perhaps be the antichrist in
disguise for all I know, but for which
there's no real evidence, other than the
occasional bits of feathers, livers, entrails
and bird feet scattered artfully about the
family room, in an apparent feline equivalent
of Nijinsky's "The Rites of Spring."
