It seems improbable that there's any factual info available, but what
is known about Guru Dev's(Swami Brahmananda Saraswati's) death?? I
have read Kropinsky"s interview with Shankaracharya Swaroopanand, and
am perplexed, scared, curious at the latter's suggestion that Mahesh was
responsible. Yikes!

An old friend of mine, Professor Anoop Chandola, learned meditation from the
Shankaracharya of the North that supported Maharishi. He laughed at the idea
that Gurudev had been murdered. There was controversy over his death, but
the blame was concerning whether or not he should be moved, not whether or
not he was poisoned in the first place. As Professor Chandola pointed out,
Gurudev was the foremost spiritual leader of India in the first part of the
20th Century (and MMY for the second half) and there would have been riots
in the street if anyone seriously thought he'd been assasinated.

- Most Respectfully Sir, we know a few historical facts, it was
common knowledge that Brahmachari Mahesh was engaged in "suspicious
behavior at the time of Sri Guru ..DevJi's death

..Mahesh Yogi, who used to be Brahmananda Saraswati's secretary.
In fact, the earliest doubts about the will left by Brahmananda
Saraswati were linked to suspicion of the motives and actions of
Mahesh
Yogi(then called Mahesh Brahmachari).."

I have spoken to 3 eyewitnesses, whom resided at the
Ashram of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati from '49-53. All witnesses
reveal a list of disturbing facts related to Brahmachari Mahesh.

From Don Krieger former "tm' governor"
>> Maharishi ( Mahesh Prasad Varma , born 12. January 1911 )
>> is the alleged disciple of his late Guru Dev and
>> SHANKARACHARYA Brahmananda Saraswati who lived in
>> RISHIKESH in North-India.
>> 1953 Guru Dev died from poison
>> (I have not said that Maharishi poisoned his "Guru Dev"
>> even though he was mostly around him !).
>> But Guru Dev never wanted Maharishi as his successor!
>> The Shankara - Order says that Maharishi was only
>> the secretary of Guru Dev and not a initiated
>> assumed disciple of Guru Dev !

> It seems improbable that there's any factual info available...

Steve - There is plenty of factual info available and all the evidence
points to this a being a rumor. I've read three books about Guru Dev,
including his official biography, and none of them state that Guru died due
to posioning. It's also not mentioned in any learned journals or in any of
the seven major Indian media outlets since 1953 including The Times of
India.

> ...but what is known about Guru Dev's (Swami
> Brahmananda Saraswati's) death??

Well, usually you read all the messages here BEFORE you post your question.
I just covered this issue in detail only a few days ago. You can do a Google
search and enter <guru dev> <willytex> <mahasamadhi> for more information.

According to medical records Guru Dev died of natural causes while on tour
in Calcutta. There is no record a a complaint ever being filed with the
civil authorities in India claiming that Guru Dev was posioned. There are
often rumors of this kind after the death of some teachers. There have been
rumors circulating for years that Swami Prabhupada was also posioned.

> ...I have read Kropinsky"s interview with Shankaracharya

> Swaroopanand, and am perplexed, scared, curious at the
> latter's suggestion that Mahesh was responsible. Yikes!

It is a rumor pure and simple. And, there is evidence that the Kropinsky
interview has been altered. At any rate, the Swami Swaroopanda is hardly an
independent objective witness. He's been taken to task on several occasions
by the Indian Press for perpetrating casteism and he was once placed under
pre-emptive house arrest for attempting to disrupt the Kumbh Mela so that he
could watch Sonia Gandhi (a Catholic) take a dip in the Ganges.

Swaroopananda's claim to the Shankaracharya seat has been disputed by a
number of rival claimants, including the Swami Shantananda (now desceased),
a direct desciple of Guru Dev, by the Swami Prakashananda, another direct
desciple of Guru Dev, and by the Swami Madhvashrama, who regularly presents
themselves as the Shakaracharya of Jyotirmath.

So, who would you believe? A small group of disaffected pretenders who
spread slanderous rumors on the Internet,

or,

Would you believe three direct desciples of Guru Dev, a galaxy of other
desciples, learned scholars, historians, biographers and several eyewitness
accounts?

> ...we know a few historical facts

Mr. Perino - You do not know any facts, because you, Sir, were not in India
at the time of Guru Dev's untimely demise. Your so-called 'facts' are mere
rumors that you read on the Internet or made up out of whole cloth. There's
not one article or report in any of the seven major media outlets that even
mention a rumor that Guru Dev was posioned. Nor is it mentioned in any
learned journal or report.

You, in fact, made up the rumor about the Asram cook! And, it is fact that
you, Sir, posted this scurrilous rumor on the Internet for the first time:
it's not even mentioned on Unstress4less, Trancenet or Minitorg!

> ...it was common knowledge that Brahmachari Mahesh

> was engaged in "suspicious behavior at the time of Sri

> Guru ..DevJi's death...

The only behavior that Maharsihi was involved in concerned carrying out the
instructions of his guru.

From the Times of India:

Senior Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth dead

The senior Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth, Swami Shantanand Saraswati Ji
Maharaj, died in Allahabad on Friday night at his Alopi Bagh Ashram. He was
90. The 'jalsamadhi' of the Shankaracharya will be performed on Sunday at
Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. The body has been
kept in the ashram to enable the public to pay their respects. Senior
leaders of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, including Mr. Ashok Singhal,
dharmacharyas and disciples of the Shankaracharya are arriving here to
participate in the last rites of the Shankaracharya.

The Shankaracharya was born in Achati village of Basti district into a
Brahmin family. He was the third son of Pandit Lal Bihari Tiwari. After
taking to Varagya' at 20, he went to Geeta press, Gorakhpur, and there he
stayed from 1933 to 1939. After that, he went to the ashram of Uria Baba in
Vrindaban where he remained for 14 years and studied. In 1951, he took
"sanyas" from Shankaracharya Swami Brahmanand Saraswati of Jyotish Peeth.
After the death of Swami Brahmanand Saraswati, he was made the
Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth on June 12, 1953. On February 29, 1980, he
declared Swami Basudevanand Saraswati his successor.

-Sir Lawson most repectfully, are you still telling that same old
tired tale?

we both know Sawmi Shantinanda was never the "Shankaracharya of the
North". As Shantinanda was *Bought and Paid* by Lil Brahmachari
MishMashi Mahesh..

..However, many followers of Brahmananda Saraswati were satisfied
neither with the credentials of Santananda, nor with the
validity/authenticity of the will. Perhaps, the doubts about the will
were themselves based partly upon the perception that Santananda was
not a good choice for successor. His quickness to take charge of the
matha administration on the basis of this will also probably raised
many eyebrows. Meanwhile, there was a widespread rumor that
Brahmananda Saraswati had been poisoned. This set a number of civil
lawsuits into motion. To the best of my knowledge, no criminal
lawsuits were filed against anyone, on the basis of the poisoning
theory. However, Santananda's reputation definitely took a blow,
although the major complaint against him was simply that he was unfit
for the post of Sankaracharya, because he did not measure up to the
qualifications described in the Mahanusasana texts. [2]

..Because of the controversy over Brahmananda's will and Santananda's
succession, the organizations involved in reviving Jyotirmath in 1941
considered other nominations for the Sankaracharya post. These efforts
were blessed by Swami Abhinava Sacchidananda Tirtha, the then
Sankaracharya of Dwaraka. In 1953 itself, one Swami Krishnabodha
Asrama was appointed as the new Jyotirmath Sankaracharya, contesting
Santananda's claim.

..Santananda and Vishnudevananda have also had close connections with

Mahesh Yogi, who used to be Brahmananda Saraswati's secretary. In
fact, the earliest doubts about the will left by Brahmananda Saraswati
were linked to suspicion of the motives and actions of Mahesh Yogi

(then called Mahesh Brahmachari). These TM connections probably did
not endear Santananda and Vishnudevananda to the predominantly
Brahmana following of the various mathas. I have also heard rumors
that when Santananda stepped down in favor of Vishnudevananda, there
was the hand of Mahesh Yogi behind it.

source- ..However, in 1979, when a conference of the Sankaracharyas
of the four Amnaya mathas was held at Sringeri, Santananda and
Vishnudevananda were not invited. It was Swarupananda Saraswati who
represented Jyotirmath. There is no indication that the rival lineage
of Santananda and his disciples was endorsed at this time by any of
the other Sankaracharyas.

-Lawson, perhaps "Professor Chandola" never heard of Mahatma
Gandhi?..

And, it is the most absurd, to believe Lil Brahmachari MishMashi
Mahesh is-,

"the foremost spiritual leader of India in the first part of the
20th Century (and MMY for the second half)"

Afterall, Lil MishMashi Mahesh does not live in India (Holland last
time i checked). Mahesh has been living outside of India for 15 yrs.
Run out of India by P.M. Rajiv Gandhi in 1988.

And, the *Defunct* politcal party (Ajey Bharat) started in 1996 by
MishMashi Mahesh's relatives in the province of Madhya Pradesh, failed
miserably in two subsequent elections (even after shamelss attempts at
vote buying!).

And, another important *FACT*:
After nearly 45 yrs, "tm" or Lil Brahmachari MishMashi Mahesh has
*NEVER been RECOGNIZED* by the same committee of *Learned Vedic
Scholars and Pundits-(Kashi Vidvat Parishad)* that appointed Sri Swami
Brahmananda SaraswatiJi in 1941..

..The appointment of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati in 1941 was made by
a group of monks and pundits based in Varanasi (the Bharata Dharma
Mahamandala, Kashi Vidvat Parishad, and the Akhila Bharatiya
Dharmasangha)..

> I have read Kropinsky"s interview...

Steve - If you read the Kropinsky interview then you would already know the
following facts, as related by the Shankaracharya Swarooananda:

According to Swami Swaroopananda:

"Again, the so-called will of the deceased Guru Dev prescribes the name of
Dvarikeshanand Saraswati as the second person, not him."

It's obvious from this remark that the Shankaracharya considers the will
attributed to Guru Dev to be authentic. Mr. Perino, in contrast, has
asserted that the will was forged by Mr. Mahesh.

>> ....we both know Sawmi Shantinanda was never the

>> "Shankaracharya of the North". As Shantinanda was
>> *Bought and Paid* by Lil Brahmachari MishMashi Mahesh.

Mr. Perino - According to the Swami Swaroopanand:

"It is written in that will (of Guru Dev) that this is clearly my order,
that so far as Dvarikeshanand Shastri is alive, there is no one who has the
right to make anyone else succeed to that seat unless Dvarkishanand becomes
mentally incompetent or else relinquishes the seat himself. Depriving him of
his seat is disobedience of the teacher's order. Therefore, neither
according to the Mahaanushasan, nor according to the will of Shankaracharya
(Guru Dev), is he (Vishnu Devanand) the rightful successor..."

The only problem with this statement, as pointed out previously, concerns
the fact that the Swaroopanand himself now is attempting to circumvent the
Guru Dev's will by accepting an appointment from a committee in Kashi to sit
on dual seats!

"There is Shantinand sitting there (pointing to Shantinand sitting on the
stage)."

According to Robert Kropinsky, Swami Shantananda was present "...a five day
birthday celebration of Guru Dev's oldest living disciple, Swami
Akandananda, at the Akandananda ashram in the town of Vrindaban, India. A
great tent and stage had been erected to hold several thousand guests." -
Robert Kropinski, 1985

This leads me to believe that Swami Shantanand was accepted by Swami
Swaroopanand and all the other participants as the Shankaracharya of the
North, at the birthday celebration of Swami Alakananda. There is no
indication from Swaroop's remarks that would indicate otherwise. Therefore,
the Shankaracharya of Dwarka, Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, has himself
refuted Mr. Perino's allegations concerning the succussor to Guru Dev.

The Shankaracharya of Dwarka, Swami Swaroopanand, has accepted and made a
statement to the effect odf confirmation, that Swami Shantanand Saraswati
was the Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath. Any further statements made by Mr.
Perino's at this point can only be construed as deliberate lies and
deceptions. Apparently, Mr. Perino cannot read, because he quotes from this
interview on numerous occasions, yet for some reason, he chose not to post
the references to the Guru Dev succession.

Note: The above excerpt of the Kropinsky transcript was taken directly from
the taped conversations between Robert Kropinski, a former TM teacher and
follower of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and Shree Shankaracharya Swaroopanand
Saraswati, a pre-eminent disciple of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati, as posted
on Mike Doughney's Website.

-No willytex(aka "Uneducated Ass"),..nothing is "obvious" otherthan,
the "Will" is "so-called".

NO One(nor; Committee of Learned Vedic Pundits, or remaining
Shankarcharyas) has accepted the validity/authenticity of the "Will".

validity/authenticity of the will.

..In fact, the earliest doubts about the will left by Brahmananda

..Santananda and his successors trace their claim to a will of
Brahmananda, but the Kashi Vidvat Parishad and the Akhila Bharatiya
Dharmasangha have not accepted this.

statement of Sri Swami Swaroopananda Saraswati out of context!

Sri Swami Swaroopananda prefaced (your snippet) by saying-, "Again,

the so-called will of the deceased Guru Dev prescribes the name of
Dvarikeshanand Saraswati as the second person, not him."

- Yo *Idiot*(aka "Uneducated Ass"),.. this by far the most *Blatant
Example* of your mis-representation and deliberate lying on your part!

Here (below), is the context of Sri Swami Swaroopananda's statement
concerning- Shantinanda sitting on the stage, that day Robert
Kropinski was present in Vrindvan, India..

..I returned that evening to Shankaracharya's house and was
immediately
taken to see him. He asked, did you see Shantinand on the stage? I
replied yes. He said, word came to me that he (Shantinand) had
requested to be allowed on the stage. I allowed him to be present only
because he has given up this nonsense of claiming title to
Shankaracharya. He said Vishnu Devanand, Mahesh's so-called
Shankaracharya, was also here in Vrindaban, he also requested to come
onto the stage, but I refused. Then, he (Vishnu Devanand) stated he
would sit on a lower, undecorated seat if I allowed him to attend. I
refused him. Then, he again begged to simply sit on the floor of the
stage at my feet, if I allowed him to be publicly present.

- Yo willytex(aka "Uneducated Ass"),.. You suffer from the worst type
of *Delusional Belief System*!
You (personally) display the best example of a *Cultic Mindset*,
moreso than any of the "pro-tm" fanatics here at a.m.t.!

Lets re-visit the interview by Robert Kropinski of Sri Swami
Swaroopanada..

..When a Sammelan (conference) of all the four seats was called, he
(Vishnu Devanand) was not invited there as one presiding over the
Jyotish Peeth. Moreover, no other Shankaracharya of any seat allows
him to sit next to him.

He knows that in the days ahead he will be exposed. Before that moment
arrives, he wants to make sure that he will not have financial
difficulty
in life. He created on Shankaracharya here. There is Shantinand
sitting
there (pointing to Shantinand sitting on the stage). They, Shantinand
and Vishnu Devanand have no influence on the public. They are raised
by Mahesh's money. They just sing his glory.

-In, speaking with 3 Disciples, who lived at the ashram (from '49-53)
of Sri Swami Brahmananda SaraswatiJi Maharaj, i became aware of a
pattern of disturbing facts emerged regarding Brahmachari Mahesh
tenure as the ashram clerk:
A). Mahesh engaged in a conspiracy with the Ashram Cook, to posion Sri
Guru DevJi to death.

B). Mahesh used his position as Ashram Clerk to deliberately
misrepresent the instructions of Sri Guru DevJi in His(Sri Guru DevJi)
Last Will.

C). Mahesh re-wrote portions of Sri Guru DevJi's Last Will to name
Shantinanda as the successor in 1953.

The *Final Goal* of Brahmachari Mahesh was twofold:
A). The vast monetary wealth of the Ashram. As long as, Sri Swami
Brahmananda was alive, He controlled significant monetary donations
(made by the wealthy families of Northern India). In the bedroom (He
occupied at the Allhabad Ashram), beneath the bed of Sri Guru DevJi,
there was a large chest containing among other things (such as Real
Property Deeds, Bank Notes, Bank Account Books) many many thousands of
Rupees in cash.

B). To secure for himself(Mahesh) a prominent role in the succession
at Jyothirmath.

At that time ('53-'55) Mahesh was living in the deep forests of Uttar
Pradesh. As he (Mahesh) was (specifically) sent away from the Ashram,
personally by Sri Guru DevJi. To live in the mountains and-, "Never
come down".

When he(Mahesh) surfaced in So. India (Kerala), he began propagating
his own brand of meditation.
Sponsored by wealthy So. Indian families Mahesh (over the next few
years)acquired enough wealth to return to North India, and force the
"succession issue at Jyotirmath" into litigation..

..Shantinand, at the direction of Mahesh Yogi, refused to give up
possession of the Jyotir Math ashram and forced the matter into
litigation.

> NO One...has accepted the validity...of the "Will"...

Mr. Perino - You are again attempting to mislead. There have been many
scholars, pundits, saints and sages in India who accepted the validity of
Guru Dev's will, including some of India's most revered saints such as Sri
Sri Anandamayi, Swami Chidanandji, Swami Prakashanandji, Swami
Chinmayanandandji and His Holiness, the Dalai Lama of Tibet.

You have presented nothing here but rhetoric to prove your point. There is
no mention of a 'pundit committee' in any of the seven major media outlets,
concerning anything to do with the validity of Guru Dev's will. And, you
haven't cited one single individual on the so-called 'committee' who ever
even made a public statement to this effect, except for the Swami
Swaroopanada, who thinks that Guru Dev was murdered. Get real!

Where is your evidence, Sir?

Please find below the information that you requested:

Therefore, your claim has no basis and is without merit. According to
reports in the Indian Press, Swami Shantanand was accepted as the
Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath.

From the Times of India:

The senior Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth, Swami Shantanand Saraswati Ji

Maharaj, died in Allahabad on Friday night at his Alopi Bagh Ashram. He was
90. The "jalsamadhi" of the Shankaracharya will be performed on Sunday at

Brahmanand Saraswati of Jyotish Peeth.

From the Hinduism Today:

PASSED ON: Senior, retired, Shankaracharya of Jyotir Peeth, Swami Shantanand
Saraswati Ji Maharaj, age ninety, on December 7, 1997, in Allahabad, India.
Senior leaders of the VHP participated in final rites. Swami became
Shankaracharya in 1953 after the death of his guru, Brahmanand Saraswati.
Swami Basudevanand Saraswati is his successor.
http://www.hinduismtoday.com/1998/3/1998-3-22.html

Notes:

1. According to Vidyasankar Sundaresan, Santananda passed away in late 1997,
and Vasudevananda Sarasvati is the current representative of this lineage.
Vasudevananda Sarasvati was present during the appointment of a
Mahamandalesvara of the important Maharnirvani Akhada in 1995, according to
Hinduism Today. On February Santananda stepped down from the seat, in the
year 1985, in favor of his disciple, Swami Vishnudevananda Sarasvati.
However, Vishnudevananda Sarasvati passed away in 1990, when Santananda
Sarasvati was still alive. Following this, another disciple, Swami
Vasudevananda Sarasvati, was named as the successor.
http://www.ucl.ac.uk/~ucgadkw/position/shank-jyot-ascii.html

2. In an interview with Robert Kropinsky the Swami Swaroopanand has stated
that Guru Dev left a will which clearly specified the names of those
individuals who were to assume the title and responsibilities of
Shankaracharya after Guru Dev's death. The will specifed that Swami
Shantanand was to succeed to the seat of the Shankaracharya of the North.
http://minet.org/Documents/shank-5

3. A Kumbh Darshan Peace Fair was organised in Haridwar which was
inaugurated by Swami Satmitranand, Swami Prakashanand and B.K. Dadi
Chandramani. The Raj Yoga Shivir there was inaugurated by Jagat Guru
Shankaracharya Shri Vishnu Devannand Saraswati and was visited by
Mahamandleshwar, Swami Harprakashanand of Prachin Avdhoot Ashram, Swami Uma

6. Jadadguru Sri Shankaracharya Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati Maharaj,
Jyotirmatha, Badarikashram, Himalayas: "The Ganga and Yamuna, both rivers
are symbols of knowledge and love respectively. Similarly, unless you take
both influences, cold and hot, or Ganga and Yamuna, you cannot have proper
tattva jnana (knowledge of the primal elements). On this occasion, if you
observe silence and have a bath in sheetoshan jala (cold and hot water), it
will lead to a boost in your physical energy and improve your power to
think. When you utilize this energy and power to improve your behavior and
perform public service, you will do it with renewed vigor and inspiration
and finally emerge victorious and highly successful in life."

Hi,
There are some facts brought to light by the final decision of the Supreme Court of Allahabad. (-> https://indiankanoon.org/doc/37475462/):
Swami Brahmanda Saraswati had been at Calcutta those days of nearer coming mahasamadhi , not at Badrinath or Jothir Math.
He had problems with breathing already since a half year ago. Thus it's not not far fetched that he might had been advised to go to the sea and to breathe that air.

Furthermore, sickness of height can happend from 2500 m upwards. (s. Prof. Dr.med. Mees, "Höhentrekking an Höhenbergsteigen", Bruckmann-Verlag). Badrinath lays at a height of about 3100m. Shankara died at Kedarnath which lays at a height of 3400m. Shankara is said to have come from the South and thus by heritage he might not have been suitable for the heights of the Himalyas. That might be the reason why he has died there at young age. (I know this problem from my own experience; At a height of about 2900 m I once got that sickness of height. All of sudden, when skying there came a string pressure in the brain and then suddenly a very strange blissfullness. I addition my eyes suddenl gave me wrong eitems of information. I had been skyying downwards on that glacier and then my eyes told me that in the direction in which I knew for sure taht it was the directiondownwards my yes told me "in tht direction it goes uphill". From Alpenverein's magazine "Alpinwelt" I knew that that was sickness of height of the middle strong sort. I knew I have to get down to at low-enough height, preferably under 2500m as soon as possible. That was rather difficult with closed eyes but happily succeed by using a mathematical methode for finding a "Minimum" and the knowedge about the special from of that glaciere in which that method of the "deepest descent" would actually convert to the local minimum at the lake of that galcier.
It's well-known that those Tibetians use to get very serve "asthma" at the low height of the sea. Many of thjose who had fled togetheter with the Dalai Lama then died because of asthma. (It has to do with the Tibetian's special parts of the DNA). Vice-versa non-tibetians (may be those native people from Peru and so on also have a speciality in their DNA and thus have no problems living at a height of 4000m) can get that sort of sickness of height that has to do with "breathing" (In my case it had been that other sort of sickness of height that has to do with the brain) and insetad they have no problems on the leven of the sea or belower (see the "death lake" in Israel).

Swami Brahmanda Saraswati had come from a long family tradition and those hadn't been living in those regions of height. (-> "Roots of TM", Paul Mason)

Mr. Mahesh had lived with Swami Brahmanda Saraswati for those 13 years and even late Shankaracharya Swaroopananda couldn't but state that Mr. Mahesh had been his private secretarian for many years ( -> David Sieveking's movie "David wants to fly").

About Mr. Mahesh's way of life after Swami Brahmanda Saraswati's Mahasamadhi there is the biography of Paul Mason.
In additon, it's interesting what Judith Boruques has written in her book "Robes of Silk, feet of Clay".
Follwing the advice if an elderly Sadhu Mr. Mahesh hat went to the South of India to get rid of that thought "Rhameswaram" (Paul Mason has brought to light many interesting facts about Mr. Mahesh's those about two years at Uttar Kashi.). Mr. Mahesh came back when he had been searching for a suitable place to build that "academy" for training TM-teachers. (To build it in India and not in the USA had been "caused" by Charles Lutes/USA.)

Obviously, he hadn't got rid of that thought "Rhameswaram" but vice-versa he had got rid of the idea that "a Sadhu-way-of life" would be the right thing for him:
When that academy at Rishiskesh had been built, he started of taking a friendgirl and had started to make money. (Before he had already gained the experience that it was possible (by means of teaching TM) for him to make money rather easily and without personal conflicts in regard of his general spirtual interests.
Thus he had obviously decided for a householderway of life.
It's a custom among many Sadhus to draw beautiful paintings into their face and to dress like some hero of the Ramayana (dress as Hanuman) with lots of body palinting or some such persons, etc (About the possibilites of body-painting see for instance the artist Johannes Stoetter; he does very amazing things) and then to sit at some temple for gathering donations (they are scarcely anything else but a special sort of burglars) durning the day and in the evening they use to go home to their wife and children. Likewise Mr. Mahesh kept on dressing himself as a "sadhu" and he kept on posing to be a Sadhu; but in reality he had decided to be a professional teacher of meditation and had the intention to make money and had friendgirl(s).

The rumour ist that when he had died, he left 150 000 000€ to his brother in India.

Thanks for some interesting items of information. (especially "ColdBluICE", 24.01.2003, 13:42:27)

Adios

Mr. ColdBluIce has dropped out of the discussion after the conviction of his own guru.

"A 12-person jury declared Saraswati guilty of 20 counts of child molestation, after 50 minutes deliberation, on Friday 4 March 2011."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prakashanand_Saraswati

"Prakashanand Saraswati led one of America’s top Hindu temples, until a jury convicted him of abusing kids."
