The Mission of Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj 1989 - 1999
Sat Sandesh Staff

In reflecting upon the growth of
the Science of Spirituality over
the past ten years, one finds that Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj has
expanded the mission in many areas. What follows is a summary of the
achievements and accomplishments of the mission brought about by Sant
Rajinder Singh Ji since 1989. Through his untiring efforts he has
taught the meditation on the inner Light and Sound to hundreds of
thousands of people, and has carried the message of the great Masters,
Hazur Baba Sawan Singh Ji Maharaj, Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj, Sant
Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj, and the Masters who preceded them to millions
of people throughout the world.

Initiations

As of 1999, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji has initiated over 220,000 people
into Naam, or the Light and Sound of God. This amount, combined with
the number of people initiated by Hazur Baba Sawan Singh Ji, Sant
Kirpal Singh Ji, and Sant Darshan Singh Ji, brings the total number of
people intiated into Sant Mat worldwide to almost 400,000.

On November 24, 1997, the largest initiation in Sant Mat history was
held in Peth, India —- a town near Deolali, Maharashtra. Maharaj Ji
initiated 21,614 people in one sitting.

The largest initiations outside of India took place in South America.
On June 14, 1998, in Quito, Ecuador, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji initiated
926 people, and on December 30, 1992, in Cali, Colombia, 925 people
were initiated.

World Tours and Meditation Seminars

Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj has toured considerably, spreading the
teachings of the Masters to new seekers, as well as inspiring and
encouraging those who have already been initiated. During the past ten
years, Maharaj Ji has been traveling back and forth from India to
Chicago about three times a year. In-between his travels back and
forth, he has made numerous tour stops to places around the globe. His
tours have taken him throughout North America, South America, Central
America, Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and New
Zealand.

On his tours outside of India he has visited ninety-one cities in
twenty-nine countries, and some of those cities he visited two to eight
times. In the Chicago area he has held fifteen meditation seminars
where people from all over the world have attended in order to enhance
their spiritual growth. In India, Maharaj Ji has made over one hundred
fifty tour stops, making the combined total of tour stops worldwide two
hundred fifty-five.

I noticed in this article it is written that Rajinder Singh Ji
has initiated 220,000 souls. How many of those were Westerners?
When he holds a satsang in America, how many generally attend?
I live in Texas, how many followers does he have in Texas?

I
couldn't help but notice that the millions whom Maharaj Charan
Singh Ji and Maharaj Gurinder Singh Ji have initiated did not
even merit a mention. Why is that? They are teaching Sant Mat.
What does Rajinder Singh Ji think of the Radha Soami Satsang?

I
have mentioned that Maharaj Gurinder Singh Ji is a True Master.
Does he recognize him as one?

Well, I certainly can't - and do not - speak for SOS. But I do know that
many, if not most, of Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj's devotees believed that,
while Sawan's will gave the property of the Dera to Sardar Jagat Singh,
Sawan's soul gave the Master Power to Kirpal Singh.

Having said that, Kirpal went at lengths to extol the possibility of more
than one Satguru on earth at certain times, such as Kabir and Nanak or Shams
& Rumi, partly I reckon to chill any animosity between Sawan Kirpal Ashram
and Radhasoami Satsang Beas.

I really don't know if Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj has addressed this
issue or not. I have not had the opportunity to read all of his essays and

transcribed talks. But I suspect he doesn't get into interfaith politics,
seeing it as a distraction from the primary focus of harmonizing our
attention with the Homeward flow of the Shabda and merging into Its divine,
eternal love.

I hope this helps.

Love and blessings,

Michael
