Dan Rather is one of the most admirable journalists. He got a very raw
deal when he broadcast the story involving photocopies from W's file
involving his service in the "Champagne Unit." I wonder if daddy Bush
had anything to do with the disappearance of the original file.

This morning on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Rather stated that if Palin had
made Biden's "international crisis" remarks, It would have appeared
above the fold of every major newspaper.

Dan Rather sunk CBS News as far as credibility. Couric isn't much better,
so the ratings go.

How so? As I said in my original message, Rather got a very raw deal

when he broadcast the story involving photocopies from W's file

involving his service in the "Champagne Unit." I wonder why the
original file disappeaed!

Biden’s crisis predictions were ignored by the reporters who were
present, and the story received scant coverage only when it broke on
Rush Limbaugh's radio program. This is in very sharp contrast to the
extensive coverage that Palin’s wardrobe is receiving.

When I opened today’s Hartford Courant, I was amused to see the Page
A2 inset: “TOP PHOTO GALLERY (about 14,000 clicks) Sarah Palin’s
$150,000 Wardrobe at courant.com/palinfashion.

On page C2, the wardrobe story is also covered in the JAVA column,
which is widely read and is available at:

http://www.courant.com/entertainment/celebrity/hc-nujavapalin1023.artoct23,0,3059850.column

The text is accompanied by before-and-after photos of Palin, which
together make up one-fourth of the page and end with: “See a sampling
of Sarah Palin's high-priced fashion choices at www.courant.com/palinfashion.

How is it that so many media pundits continue to accuse the McCain-
Palin campaign of focusing on distractions and not on issues?

That's because it's a normal phenomenon that the repubs tried to spin as
uniquely Obama's risk.

That's becase those RNC wardrobe purchases are illegal under McCain's own
campaign law.
