DO NOT BREAK OXYCONTIN IN HALF!!

sorry......just wanted to make sure the previous poster saw this.
It can be very dangerous and even fatal( with certain people and certain
dosages) to break oxycontin in half!

Same goes for MS Contin, some one-a-day antidepressants, and any time
release tablet. Never crush them, break them, chew them, or disturb the
integrity of the tablet in any way. These tablets are time release and if
the tablet is broken you can get the whole 8 hour dose at one time. That
could possibly be fatal or cause a fatal interaction with your other meds.
If you do not know if your meds are being given in a time release form, ask
your pharmacist.

Thanks for the heads up - I wondered why it said don't chew, crush, etc. AND I
was thinking about taking 1 and a half tonight - took the 2 last night and was
way too much for my pea brain! Thanks again,

Absetively! This is precisely why they are currently
painting Oxycontin as "the poor man's heroin" and
making it the latest "Big Bad Thing".
Chomp it- overdose- make the headlines. Duhh????
