I had my third visit on 02/09 to my doctor since being diagnosed with
FMS. We have been working for about three months now. The advice he
gave me on Friday was the stretching program, which I had already
started; low-resistance, high-repetition weight training; walking
daily; and a vegetarian diet for the next couple months to see if that
helps. He said the stretching and the weight training combined really
work well. I would like to know if anyone else has tried this
combination or any of it and what kind of luck they have had. He says
there is evidence that rheumatoid arthritis and FMS can be helped by
eliminating animal products from the diet. I'll try anything!!!! I am
lucky enough to be a "home worker" so that if I get fibro'd out I can
always quit and take a nap or just rest a while. I am a medical
transcriptionist and sit at the computer all day, and some days are
really tough!
I am currently taking Zoloft, 50 mg in the morning, and Xanax, 20 mg at
night, to help with sleep. So far, not much luck, but we are
conservative and patient at this point.
Thanks for the support I get from this group.
Joy and comfort!
