Cate--
Try other narc. pain meds & find out what works or doesn't for you.
JoDanne-Boy i'm glad you jumped in there on that. Lynn-what has "working in a
medical office for 20 yrs" have to do w/a persons' choice of how to treat their
pain??!!! You say you have FMS - sorry to hear that--BUT--after listening to
the various degrees of pain in just this ng alone, do you think maybe you don't
have it as bad or were perhaps misdiagnosed? I have it pretty bad-but not even
CLOSE to what some people are going thru. I do agree that if you can avoid
taking a drug, do so but as my friend (who is dying of cancer) told me-"I have
pain but know it will end soon. I have a death sentence but you do too & you
have to live w/it for the rest of your probably long life."
BY the way--NARCOTIC PAINKILLERS MAKE US ABLE TO FUNCTION LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN
(HEALTHY) BEING--WE DO NOT NOT NOT GET "DRUGGED" OUT BY USING THEM!!!!!!!!
aaaaRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Ah, there now-thank you-so much better ahem. Sorry kinda-just touchy from lack
o sleep & this particular subject.
So Lynn, have you read DR. DEVIN STARLANYL'S books? Perhaps they would give
you a better understanding of what these thingies (as Sammie-the Sweetie) are &
what various drugs help/or not (everyone's different -duh i say to myself).
So, go read or re-read Fibromyalgia & Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome-a
Survival Manual" & the sequel-"FMS Advocate" (that's not the exact
title-sorry). Then, as someone we all know & luv well in Tx. says:"Minds are
like parachutes-they work best when open".
So ng folks-did I bite troll bait or what???????!!!!!!!!!
Kindly,
Lori

Good morning Lori, I don't know if you bit troll bait, what taste do you have
in your mouth LOL. I think you did well explaining these dang thingies we all
share, hats off to you. And I liked what you said about painkillers, make us
able to function like a normal human. I sure wished that point would get
across to the many doctors that we want to be productive. I would like to see
them go to work each day with a toothache and not be able to take anything for
the pain. And to know that toothache will be with them for life, might see an
attitude adjustment. Thanks for the refer to thingies, when I was told I had
all of this I couldn't pronouce them and dang I could spell them, so just call
them thingies. And the books you referred to well that was the first of my
long list of reading. That is the most important thing to do read, find out
all you can. The next thing is to find this wonderful Ng with all these great
folks that share these thingies with you. Have a great day and a better
tomorrow.

see ya
Sammie

Lori,

No you didn't "bite troll bait" - you simply missed the point of my
posting. I wasn't trying to be critical - I was speaking from my
experience, which is different from yours' and everyone else's here. I
didn't mean to offend - I'll just sift through the maze of
personalities getting in the way of good information here in this NG,
discontinue contributing, and glean what I can to help myself. I've
tried several times to comment on issues - I keep getting attitude back
from numerous members of this ng - private apologies from others via
email. It's not worth my time to worry about how to say what I want to
say.....
Best wishes to you all...
LAR

Hi LynnAR,
Gee whiz, I didn't have a chance to thank you for your email explanation the
other day--& I DO thank you for that. It made ALL the difference in
understanding why you feel as you do. I did ( i thought) apologize to you for
my "yelling", but I hope (& I think you do) you understand the side which we
who've been thru the gamut of trying everything (well almost it seems) stand
on.
I truly hope that you DO post when you feel like it or have ??? or whatever!
Please feel free to email me if u wish--but don't give up on the ng for
support-it is here & I hope we are adult enough to agree to disagree.
Kindly,
Lori
P.S. ((((Sammie))) u r sooo sweet!! thanks for your feedback!
