Not much of an artist here unless you consider stick people art but I do like
woodworking.

Trying to get the hubby to build a garage and put all our woodworking tools in
it for me so I can make things like birdhouses and garden doodads. If he would
clear out the back bedroom of all the usless junk that has ended up there over
the years that would be a nice place too but he is the type that can't seem to
throw anything away, might need it someday, LOL
Yep he is a packrat.

I sold several birdhouses and garden signs that I made last year during the
neighborhood rummage sale, made a good chunk of change.

I get the wood for nothing by visiting sites where they are building homes and
the shops of several cabinet makers I know and asking for the scrap. Used wood
pallets work nice too and they are free too.
The paint I buy for about 3 bucks a gal or less, dented cans and returns from
the hardware store. You get what you get as for the colors but the price is
right.

I don't get to play with my woodworking toys much because the basement stairs
are just too hard for me to handle alone.

beautiful:-) I like to take pics with my digital camera. If anyone is
interested, I have a pic of a hot air balloon that I took last year at the
Kodak International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta here in Albuq. it's entered in a
contest and is to be included in some kind of coffee table book. Here is
the url:

I love woodworking, too. Used to use the band saw and scroll saw a lot, but find
it too difficult to do. I used to do craft shows (I do tole/decorative painting)
and sell my things in stores. I did everything to very detailed yard signs (I
have a huge graveyard for Halloween in my front yard and lots of 3 ft. high
characters surrounding two large white reindeer - like Blue(s clues), Pooh,
Piglet, Bert, baby daisy dick opening a present, donald duck carrying christmas
lights, etc) and I lots of country figures for the house.

I just bought an old child's rocker, stripped it and got a small toy chest - bare
wood. I want to paint them in some coordinating design and donate them for the
CASA silent auction the end of June. I can't think of any designs I want to
do!! It should be for a boy or girl. I was thinking of Winnie the Pooh
characters, but would LOVE some other suggestions. I don't paint teddy bears
well, haven't gotten the fur thing down, but can do most things. I'm running
short on time and I have a total mental block. Now that I have invested the money
in these two things it would be a shame not to paint them. Any creative ideas?
