Hi Kathy,
My husband brought home a virus from where he works.
Everyone seemed to be passing it back and forth since
nobody can afford to miss work. These were pretty much
our exact same symptoms. Both of us ended up having to
go to the Doctor after about a week. It went down in our
chests. My husband was given a Z-Pack 5 day antibiotic
that helped the worst of the infection in his chest. He was
coughing and wheezing and felt terrible. However he also
had a relapse of symptoms and he just recently is better.
We were sick for most of August and September.
I came down with it about a week after he did, and I had
your same symptoms but mine also went down in my chest.
After waiting a good 10 days, I also had to go to the Doctor.
I had bronchitis and was given Levaquin for the infection.
That so helped, but the cough and lingering congestion has
hung on for almost 2 months. The Doctor said this virus
seemed to be hanging on for 2 to 3 weeks and with our
secondary infections (both from having some asthma tend-
encies) lasted well over a month..to almost 2 months.
So...you are not alone. There was alot of flu and colds
going around here in So. California the last few months.

Well, this helps.
It's awful that the people at your husband's job cannot take
sick days. Yikes--that goes against all medical advice, but then
again if people don't get paid sick days, or worry about their jobs
even moreso in this economic crisis, it's happening more and more
that people who are sick go into their workplaces.
It's not very humane or logical from the viewpoint of disease
control, but it is reality these days.

Sounds like my problems with my version of CFIDS/ME/PVFS.
