Can anyone help me out? I have recently been tested for allergies, and
found that I am allergic to several inhalent allergens, including dust
mites, cotton linters, sheep wool, rabbit, etc. Anyway,
can anyone tell me what exactly is "cotton linters"? I have tried to get
info off the internet but
have had no luck. I assume it is the cotton from dryers, but does this
category include cotton products such as paper towels, tissues, cotton
sweaters? I am not sure how far to take this category in avoiding the
allergen. I did not get to ask my doctor about cotton linters as I did
not notice this allergen until after I left his office.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Per my dictionary, cotton linters is the fuzz of short fibers
that adheres to cottonseed after ginning.

Per the book 'Allergies A to Z'
"Cottonseed--one of the most potent allergens for humans.
Cottonseed may be a contaminant in inexpensive furniture upholstery,
cushions, and mattresses. Most allergic symptoms result from the
inhalation of cottonseed dust in animal feed and fertilizers.
Cottonseed meal used to grease pans and in baked goods may rarely
cause allergic reations, but processing of cottonseed oil
effectively removes allergens"
