An air purifier (HEPA, like the Environcare) is better than any air purifier.
In the summer, I place 3M filters in my air conditioner. I also run it
for an hour or so on fan to try and dry it old (to prevent mold).
Getting rid of curtains, drapes, carpeting, books; covering the mattress
and pillows with vinyl; allergy shots; etc. etc. etc. should also help.

Dear Dave,
I'm not too sure of the effectiveness of of Air Conditioning or
standard air cleaners . What I recommend are Air Purifiers that work with
Radio Wave Ionization. It literally drops the pollen, dust, dust mites,
dead skin, animal hairs, smoke , bad odours etc. from the air. I've known
people which had allergy problems like myself who got these purifiers and
declared they've breathed much better around the surroundings that would
normally not agree with them. Most of them even stopped their medication.
With this type of purifiers , it doesn't matter whether your windows
are open or closed, you'll find after turning the Ionization on for the
first time, a lot of the indoor polutants actually fall to the ground,
what i did was one clean up job and that was it. The air was never cleaner
and fresher after that, plus it doesn't really matter where you put it
cause the waves goes through walls and floors (except metal) working the
entire house.
Note, air filters don't work the same way. The filters don't get all
the particles out.
I sincerely am living proof of the effectiveness of these systems. I
believe that cleaning the air by oxidizing and ionization using these
methods are the only effective ways to relieving one's allergies.
Dave, if you'd like to talk more about it, don't hesitate to contact me at
