Anyone help. I read a while back about some adaptor to be used with the Water
Pik system to clean or rinse out the sinus cavities in the nose. I got the
WaterPik now and see why the adaptor is needed. I think the adaptor name is
Grossan or something similar.....Also not sure where to buy this thing from.

Any help please respond to my email at Ken...@aol.com.

Thanks in advance!

"Grossan" is the brand sinus irrigator that attaches to the Water Pik. It
is available at http://www.pharmacy-solutions.com/order.htm or e-mail to :
heal...@pharmacy-solutions.com
I purchased the Grossan throat irrigator tip from this source.

Ahahahha, you've got to be kidding!! I've never heard of such a device before and
I wouldn't believe it to be practical. sinus cavities are very sensitive and
fragile. Even a water-pik with an interesting attachment wouldn't be good for your
nose- hmm your girl friend on the other hand....

Here's Dr. Grossan's web site:
http://www.ent-consult.com/ Ear, Nose, Throat, Barry Grossan, MD

http://www.ent-consult.com/sinus_disease_pro.html Sinus Disease
Excerpt:

"If this is not effective, there is an attachment to the
WaterPik(R) dental irrigator (pulsating sinus irrigation) which
can be used to restore nasal cilia, remove nasal pus, and
thin the secretions. The attachment reduces the
WaterPik(R) pressure to just the right pressure of 5 PSI -
the water stream is about an inch high. The saline goes
in one side of the nose and out the other. This is a natural
way of healing the sinus condition. Even children as
young as 5 years find this a pleasant treatment. This
attachment is available from Hydro Med. Their phone # is
(800) 560 9007, Fax (818) 377 3426. "

This device is prescribed by medical doctors, there are numerous medical
journal articles about it, and it can be found in many national chain
stores. On that alone I would supposes it has some practical uses. In
addition, I bought the throat version and it works for me. I suppose your
negative comment was mostly for the purpose of following with a joke?

Thanks for your clarification. I can see how it might sound unlikely,
especially if you have never had your sinuses irrigated in a doctor's
office.

You can purchase the adapter at most pharmacies. I have one. It is
not for everyday use. My ENT perscribed it after having nasal polyops
removed. It was used to keep blood clots from forming after recovering
from surgery. I was told to use for 6 months after surgery. And
anytime that I get a sinus infection, in order to help prevent
reoccurance of polyops. You have to use distilled water, or boil your
water for 3 mins, let cool and add 1TBS of salt. It doesn't feel very
good and use a low setting on your water pick. But, it does clean out
any thick mucos. Talk to your allergist or ENT.
