Can anybody tell me what the policy is on getting rehired after you've been
fired? I know my boss told me that I couldn't work at any of the stores
whether they are corporate or franchise. Is this correct? I'm only asking
this because my boss fired me because I didn't live up to "his"
expectations. That's how the store I was at lost alot of the employees.
Please let me know. Thanks.

Franchised stores will have their own policy. I have hired people who have
been fired by the company. That store manager wouldn't have the power to
stop you working at another store. It might (and probably will) affect your
chances when someone contacts them for a reference.
Besides it wouldn't hurt for them to take you on for a new probation period,
and then they can make up their own opinion...

Company policy is NO rehires after dismissal...however, it depends on
how thoroughly the disciplinary procedure was carried out and if the
store you apply to is struggling for staff. As far as Franchised
stores are concerned, Popey is right: as Franchisees are separate
businesses from McDonald's, they can hire whomever they like (in the
same way you could apply to Tesco or somewhere).

In theory in Mc OpCo stores you cannot be rehired. However on 2
occasions I can recall dismissess being rehired by new managers (If
the circumstances are dire enough.)

I don't think Franchise stores go by the same rules. It would all
depend on the reference.

I think that is untrue about not being able to be re hired at other
stores OR the same store because the store I work at just Re-Hired 2
people who were fired last summer .I've personally gotten fired from a
Mc Donalds in California then started working for one in Texas this past
year.

You are so lame. Fired from a burger flipping job. They let homeless
people get jobs there. You are lame. Why would you want to go back to a
company that fired you. Are you really that lazy? Common kid wake up get
off your ass and find a real job. Don't set your sites as being a McBoss of
some skank McShitty job making things seem better tasting just because you
put Mc behind it. Don't be a McLoser.

If you're going to flame, do it right - you osmotic, bloated sack

The work kind of sucks, kind of doesn't, but those phone numbers you can get in
drive through are awesome.

It mostly depends on how badly the other store needs you. It's true
that a manager may say something negative to keep you from getting
hired by another Mc donalds but have faith! I believe it is under the
federal labor laws that an employer cannot say anything negative about
you to another potental employer. If they do say something nasty about
you, you could potentally sue them. Beacuse they were preventing you
from getting another job. And If they don't hire you at another Mc
Donalds you can request the reason in writing of why they would not
hire you. I am not sure if they really have to give you the written
reason but at least you can cause them some grief back.

Also get a copy of the employment application. See if they have some
kind of cause in it about if they could fire you at will as well as
you can quit at will. I know Illinois has that law. However there are
some other states where employer has to give a two week notice before
letting someone go (that goes the same for the employees too). If you
do live in a state where the employer has to give you notice before
they fire you. You can complain to the department of labor about it.
Believe it or not, they are on the employees side.

One more thing... go collect unemployment! I kid you not. It's free
money and your entitled to it. Which is nice if your still in school.

Good luck to you :)
