A Hartford man barred from having guns because of a previous felony
conviction was found with a loaded firearm and arrested Sunday in
Wallingford where police said he fell asleep in a vehicle outside a
McDonald’s.

Police officers responded to the McDonald’s at 608 North Colony Road at
about 1:49 a.m. after an employee there reported seeing the driver of a
white sedan asleep in the drive-thru, according to the Wallingford Police
Department.

Two officers who were the first on the scene approached the vehicle and
noticed a silver and black pistol in the area of the center console,
police said. The driver, identified as 33-year-old Felix Sierra, was
immediately detained and later arrested, according to police.

Police seized the handgun and discovered one round in its chamber and
another eight rounds in the magazine. According to Wallingford police,
Sierra is a convicted felon who is not allowed to legally possess
firearms.

He was taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of a
pistol, criminal possession of ammunition, carrying a pistol without a
permit and illegal possession of weapons in a motor vehicle.

Sierra was later released from custody after posting a $100,000 bond.
