I've empirically found a few interesting (to me, at least) properties
of simple, continued fractions. Trying random coefficients is nice, but
I'd like to prove the validity of what I've found.
Unfortunately, I know very little about continued fractions, so I don't have
a lot of tools in my tool box. I spend some time searching, but mostly came
up with stuff about the convergents of continued fractions.
Can anybody point me to something on-line that proves some simple theorems
that I can use as starting points? I'm looking for real fundamental stuff,
similar in nature to the way you start group theory by proving the uniqueness
of the identity and inverses.
