The American Ambassador's Residence in Paris

Each year the Ambassador's residence receives more than 70,000 visitors to a
wide variety of events, including diplomatic conferences, official
receptions, and private appointments. Guests enter from the Faubourg
Saint-Honoré through a carriage portal in the Visconti gatehouse and cross a
recently refinished stone courtyard to a flight of shallow steps leading up
to the entrance. An elegant Louis XV façade, designed by Félix Langlais to
replace the rather imposing original composition, rises in three tiers to a
mansard roof with dormer windows. Laid in is a translucent sheet listing the
United States Chiefs of Mission to Paris from 1779 - 1997, starting with
Benjamin Franklin. Well illustrated with color photos.

United States Embassy, Paris France, 1997, pages not numbered, 9 ½" x 12",
purple boards with lighter purple lettering and heraldic eagle, dust jacket,
illustrated.
