Can anybody advise on where I might be able to find a flat wide box for this
thing? Do you have tips on shipping artwork. Thanks.

Do you use USPS and Priority Mail?
Go to the USPS website and order a box (whatever the minimum
quantity is) of #07 and #04 of Priority Mail boxes. The boxes they
**come in** are great for this kind of thing!

Here is some advice from someone who has experience
shipping paintings valued at thousands:
First, remove the glass. No matter how well you pack it, its likely
it will break and ruin the art. Tell the buyer they will have to get
new glass. Or you can have a framer install plexiglass, which can be
shipped with no problem. All the framed artwork I've shipped was
done using plexiglass.
I would wrap it in two layers of "large bubble" bubble wrap. Then
build a box around it. It takes a little time, but find cardboard and
cut and bend until it fits snug. You'll need lots of carton sealing
tape. Then bubble wrap again, and put that inside a larger box.
If your watercolor is not very valuable, you may want to cut corners
and do it simpler. Your choice.
I always use UPS.
You can sometimes find a suitable box that was originally used to ship
a bicycle, or large size plotter paper. Other big boxes originally
held folding tables, standee advertising displays etc. Some of these
will have great big styrofoam that can be adapted with a small keyhole
saw.
