1. A few weeks ago, we cut way back on shipping and only have a few
media mail pieces to go out a month. We have been on the Power Plan at
Stamps.com for a few years due to high volume and wanted to shift down
the the "Simple Plan".
2. We e-mailed Stamps.com and the tell us NO, the Simple Plan is gone.
You either use the Power Plan or nothing.
3. We e-mail back saying that if we are going to print $20 a month in
postage, it doesn't make sense to pay them $14.99 in fees to do it! We
ask to cancel our account. We get an e-mail back saying the only way
close your account is to call 888-434-0055, I KNOW they used to have an
online way to close accounts as I left them once years ago that way.
4. We have now called twice. Each time we are left on the line for 30
MINUTES while "All analysts are on the line with other customers" and
we never get a live person as we can't tie up our line for 30 minutes,
we have to try back later. Right now, I am try THREE and have been on
old 25 minutes only to be asked "Can you find your answer online? Check
Stamp.com"
MAKES ME WANT TO SLAP THEM ALL SILLY! What horrid customer service.

Try sending them a letter with delivery confirmation, copy to the
Consumer Affairs Division of their State's Attorney's Office. THen call
your credit card company and see if they can help you stop the charge
from coming through again.

I may try and get an address even though they claim you can ONLY cancel

I may file a complaint with the BBB also. This is insane!
That needs to be mentioned in the letter, and is also the reason it
needs to go to the attorney generals office. I do not care what their
TOS reads, I'll surprised if they do not have to honor a signed, written
request.

Might as well - can't hurt!
Well, I wrote Stamps.com a letter, but also filed a complaint at
BBB.org on them stating my experience so far with them. They won't
allow you to cancel online or in writing (officially), will only let
you call, but either have their phones off or are so short staffed they
can't handle the calls and expect people to hold for an hour until
someone picks up.
I also said that since we've been trying to cancel for weeks, I would
like not only a cancellation, but no charge for the month of July as we
would have cancelled in late June had they not made it so impossible to
reach them. At the very least, I hope the compaint gets someone's
attention over there.
Now, send a copy of that letter to your credit card company and request
a reversal of the last charge from Stamps.com. You may not get it, but
Stamps.com will hear from the card company and that may get some more
attention.

The first says "Your request to close your Stamps.com account has been
processed and
your service has been discontinued as of 08-01-2005."
And the second says "Because you are a Key Customer and we value your
business, we
want to thank you for your continued use and involvement. We're waiving
your regular service fee for 1 month(s). "
Since I told the BBB I not only wanted to cancel, but didn't want to
pay for my last month of service since I have been trying to cancel for
weeks, I take it that second e-mail is their way of issuing a free
month to accomplish the same result.
WELL, let us all make note that if Stamps.com give you any trouble,
simply file a complaint at BBB.org and they seem to want to make you
happy suddenly! :-)
I would doubt it's the BBB's intervention.
They carry about as much weight as our beloved ANA.
They're a 3rd party organization that simply
tells the accused "This person claims you've
done something wrong". If the accused party
says "Blow Me" then the BBB says to the
complaining party "we tried, but nothing happened".
The accused may get a "black mark" on the BBB
records, but that means virtually nothing. When's
the last time you queried the BBB about a company?
I would guess that stamps.com dealt with your emails,
received your letter, or whatever.

I am sorry you have so little faith in the BBB. I am certain they
caused this reaction from Stamps.com and have had OUTSTANDING success
with them in the past. I have 4 or 5 companies that refused to work
with me on a problem UNTIL I filed a complaint with their local BBB
online and suddenly my phone rang. In fact, I had one company who did
work on our house overcharge me $100 and claimed their original quote
was just an "estimate" when I was certain they said it was a final
price. I fought, they didn't budge. I filed a complaint with the BBB,
they e-mailed me, issued me a $100 credit and plainly said it was
because "they didn't want a mark on their BBB record."
My letter was placed on the mail Friday, the 29th to Stamps.com. I am
on the East Coast and they are on the West Coast. There is no chance my
letter made it across county and was opened and responded to in one
business day. I have not e-mailed for weeks, my last e-mail was simply
to ask how to cancel (they said via phone only) and my calls never got
through.
I am certain the BBB gets credit for today's Stamps.com movement. I
have to give credit where credit is due and have have great luck with
them before also.

This is a prime example of why it being totally and utterly foolish to use
any other shipping service other than UPS. I love Brown.

that was shipped Saturday. Received it Today
(Monday) in Phoenix. Anything's possible.
