"Accident Forgiveness"

That's an "optional" add on clause I can get with
my auto insurance. I pay $XX per month and if I
ever have an accident, my rates won't go up as
much as if I didn't have the add on clause.

Sound like a scam? If that isn't, then this is -
They're allowed to automatically add it on to my
account then notify me afterwords. Then to decline it
I have to fill out some forms to have it taken off.

Better check what looks like junk mail from your
insurance carrier. They might have added it on
and you didn't notice.

Is this with Allstate or some other carrier? I have seen Allstate ads for
this, but had not really paid much attention. I will watch our statements
though for a while even though we don't use Allstate.

How does that work if you get a citation? Can they forgive that accident
but count the moving violation? I got a citation once and they called it
nolled or something like that. I never got to contest the issue or pay any
fine but it was still points the insurance could count.

I do have Allstate, and there's no additional charge for their
"forgiveness" program. I wouldn't be pleased since they cover two
houses, two cars and a floating liability policy for us. Enough is enough.

Interesting tiered plans there.
