Hello! I am a new user here on Usenet, and I just thought I would post a
message in this base introducing myself, since I am heavily into manga
[ though far from an expert ]. I have been reading in this
group for the past while, and learned quite a substantial amount of
info about manga that I have only heard muttered in some messages
before. After browsing through the introductory list of manga and manga
serials, I have just realized that there is much more than I had
originally believed.. since then, I have run out and placed an order on
Shonen Jump and am eagerly awaiting my first shipment... unfortunately,
they gave me the info just today that instead of the shipment taking one
month, the first shipment will take 2-3 mths.!! Argh.. I don't think
I can wait that long...
Anyways, among my fave titles are Ranma 1/2, Gunnm, Akira, Orion, Ninja High
School and others that I cannot think of right now.. but I know what most of
you are thinking "Bah... amateur, translated "Viz" selections... " but as I
said, I am a partial-neophyte. I am also into anime [of course], drawing
manga [laugh], and learning Japanese [^_^].
I also have a few neopyte questions:
1] What is the total numner of volumes Dragonball or Dragonball Z has
reached so far?
2] On average, how big is a "volume" of a manga title [not the "wideban"
format]?
3] Sailor Moon.. how "cutesy" is this? I have heard the phrase:
"Moon Prism Power! Make-up!" uttered, and it caused my body
to convulse uncontrollably. ^_^
4] Samurai Pizza Cats.. has anyone seen the translated TV show?
Does it differ greatly from the original? How hard is it
to get a hold of Kenichi Sonada SC dojinshi? [Or any do-
jinshi for that matter?]
5] Is it possible to get dojinshi in North America?
TTYL!

I think they have it up to vol.33. I have all the volumes, but I can't
remember exactly...

I guess it's about the right size... Not too big, but not too small..

How am I supposed to know... I just think its totally dumb, where you
might have some other guys (I won't mention who, but it's pretty
obvious) who jerk off watching it.... It all depends on the guy
watching it.

You can get anything if you know the right person who lives in the
right place. If you pay some amount of money, some guys will get you
anything for a price....

You mean, "It's about 200 pages."

I have watched but 5+ minutes of Sailor Moon in my entire life (and that's
when somebody called up the Video Room in Expo 92 and asking what the heck
we're playing on Ch.13, so I had to look it up). So that couldn't possible
be meant for me, for once. ^^
SM mangas are cute, though.

I'd say, bug Nikaku. If 20+ people ask for the same thing, they will
seriously consider the proposition. (Worked with Bastard!, VGA, 3x3,
and AMG. Not to mention the row of H-ness there.)

Do we have a volunteer? I can vaguely remember a long time ago in a
newsgroup far, far away, a kind soul in Japan volunteered to save the
poor gaijin manga freaks from the clutches of Kinokuniya and Asahiya,
and their highway robberies. Damn if I can only remember his name,
I'll write to him right now and beg for stuffs......

(The great ones need no watching to jerk off. Then again, how should I know?)

Oh, btw, Gokuu died (real, for this time) in Shonen Jump and his san
Gohan will be the main character of the story... This story seems to
drag on for ever.... (It's been around from late December 1984... City
Hunter, Otokojuku started around the same time....)

Yeah..... I wonder who the hell he was... ack, I can't remember his
name...
If you ask me, I think the characters in DB take turn dying. First there
was the Dragon, then you have the Supreme Dragon, and next thing you know
you'll have the Mother-of-All-Dragons bringing everyone back again. Long
live mangas have the advantage of out-growing, or even out-lasting, their
earlier readers, so the plot elements can be recycled. You wonder who many
people died in Japan wondering if Duke ever had a life.
>Yeah..... I wonder who the hell he was... ack, I can't remember his

Slick.
