Here's what I have: In the January, 1990 issue of Fanroad, pg 71, is an
article on the French magazine Club Dorothee. This magazine includes, among
other things, color, French translations of manga and comics shot from anime
cells (also in French).
The selection includes Saint Seia, Dragonball, Metalder, something called
"Juliette, Je t'aime" (Has anyone ever heard of this one? It's looks like
manga, but may be French original...), Hokutono Ken, something called (in
katakana) "Ledi Jouji", Captain Harlock, and more....
In summary, French manga is definitely NOT limited to AKIRA.

Note : the case of Akira is very different, it is published both on paper cover
and luxuous hard cover ( 100 frs for 3 issues , that's around 18 $ )
Definitively not for kids !
