Currently I've got
Akira AAAAAAAAAAAAA best
The Judge AAAA good in parts
Doomed Megalopolis 1 AAAAAAAAAA too short
Doomed Megalopolis 11 AAAAAAAAAAA too short
Fist of the north star AAAAAAA naff dubbing

(The A's are how much I liked them.)

what should I see next?

BTW, Manga mania (the UK monthly publication) is great. Tetsuo and Kaneda are
still battling away in the comic strip.

Yeah, but the magazine still needs a lot of work. They missed out most of the
piccies in the articles in the last issue, and screwed up totally on the page
order for Akira two issues back.

Apart from that, i like it. Nice to see Akira in b&w.

I would suggest: X, Ranma, Ghost in the Shell, Sanctuary, Nausicaa,
Gunsmith Cats, RG Veda, Tokyo Babylon.

Say whaaat? 0083 is a very recent affair, like 1992 or something like
that. Macross is 1982 and Orguss is 1983. My only concession would
be the original Gundam from 1979. this is anime info by the way.

ak...@netcom.com (Steven E Barnes) suggests Rg Veda as a neat manga.

This is clearly true; it is wonderful both in artwork and in story.
If you like it, you may also want to try "ten ma no ketsu zoku" (Sky
Horse Clan, though the actual books have the English title "Crystal
Lord Opera" for no reason other than marketing necessities...) This
is another magic and politics work, though with "normal" humans rather
than godlets. The artwork is less dense, but given it's a steppe
nomad story it feels right. The steppes were rather empty after all.
It's published by Asuka.

Ah ha ... CLAMP everywhere ... how about Clamp's School Detective
Party? I like this one a lot as well.

Ano... Is it better than 20 Mensou?

But I advise everyone on the net to go out and by X; full scripts
for vols 1-4 are available... I'll have to bug Tonghyun-senpai
to see if he wants to work on vol 5.

SU>what should I see next?

Get your hands on Ranma 1/2 from Viz. I enjoy it thoroughly. Also from
Viz, my local supplier is trying to hunt down MS-Gundam 0083 for me.

It's supposed to be one of the manga/anime that inspired the
Superdimesional Fortress Macross and also Orguss.

Just my opinions, but those two interest me highly. An anime that you
might get your hands on as well is Project A-Ko. The reason I say that
is it is VERY easy to come by.

Uh... sorry dude. But you've got SEVERAL years between MACROSS (and ORGUS) and
GUNDAM:0083. They are going to come out next year, FEBRUARY I think, with a
color comic of MSG0083. I belive it is an Anime Comic Book, that is a book
taken from the anime and then comic stuff is placed in them (you know, word
balloons sound FX, ect.)

MACROSS and ORGUS have similar influnces to 0083, including the original GUNDAM
series. Get 0083 on video or the comic, it is a fantastic story with a great
ending.

I haven't read 20 Mensou Onegai!! I want to read it! Warrrgghhh!

Well, I think Clamp Detective Party is better than Duklyon though.
They are both fun ones.

Truth, it was the original Gundam. But it's in comic format, thus my
thinking it was a manga... Guess my idea of what a manga is is a little
off.

Humm...sorry I am lost here. Can anyone tell me what's the current
"model number" of Gundam? I heard that its shape is quite different from
the old one (but that's about a year ago).

RX 78 (original)
RX 78 GP01-03 (0083)
RX 178 (Mk II)
MSZ 006 (Z)
MSZ 010 (ZZ)
MSA 011 (Superior)
RX 93 (Nu)
F91 (Formula 91)

I don't keep track of stuff after F91 (too pathetic in IMHO, the only
reason F91 is listed is because I watched it... as far as I am concern
*REAL* Gundam ended with Char's Counter attack)
