BREAKS: The Adventures of Richard Nixon in the 21st Century
It is a spoof of cyberpunk literature and techno-magickal culture that
extrapolates on the future of magickal orders into the 21st century. It has
been uploaded to a number of places on the internet, including the Science
Fiction Library on America Online... Here's the description that accompanied
some of the uploads:
>BREAKS: The Adventures of Richard Nixon in the 21st Century
>by Philip H. Farber
>An electronic novel.
>Early in the 21st century, Richard Nixon is awakened from a coma to find that
>he has been rejuvenated to the physical age of 23.. and re-elected President
of >the United States. He quickly realizes that the presidency doesn't mean
what it >used to. Politics as a profession has ceased to exist and millions
have migrated >into space to join a growing techno-pagan culture. Nixon
immediately blames >the space-travelers for the depleted state of the U.S.A.
and pledges economic >and military action against them...
>BREAKS is a twisted spoof of cyberpunk literature by nationally published
>journalist Philip H. Farber (Mondo 2000, High Times, Future Sex, and the New
>York Times best-selling history books Chronicle of the 20th Century and
>Chronicle of America, among others). BREAKS is funny, erotic, metaphysical
>and downright dangerous.
>The text of this version is fundamentally the same as the text-file version
>previously uploaded, however it is now saved as an electronic novel which
>features full-color graphics for VGA, scrolling with mouse or keyboard, a
>bookmark feature, on-line help, and more. It was developed for DOS... if it is
in >any way incompatible with your system, e-mail PSt...@aol.com for help. We
>aim to please.
