My memories of Cat Yronwode are very fond ones, she did an excellent
job helping collect, reprint and annotate Will Eisner's Spirit comics
back in the 1980s. Given the meaningless attacks these same posters on
these newsgroups have made on Brenda, I have to wonder. Not saying
what's being written about Cat is not true, just that repeating a lie
over and over never makes the lie true.

All she has to do is remove personal information about people posting
here from her webpage. If that's too much to ask, she deserves every bit
of what is being said about her, and much more.

Of course, you would defend her. You always did have a weak spot for
those unfortunate braindead morons who still post somehow.

I have yet to read something from him that is actually relevant. Granted, I
haven't read a majority of his posts... but what I have read I find insipid
and irritating, among other things. I pretty much choose to ignore him for
the most part. Why bother causing a stir over something so insignificant? =/

No shit, man! Fuck these whining self-important over-sensitive losers who
can't deal with their own miserable existences and need a pointless battle
to fight.

Nothing any of you fucking worthless half-wit morons write is anywhere
near important or original enough for it to matter in the least if it's
archived somewhere. Copyright my ass. You just want to feel like you
matter right? Well you don't fucking matter at all and you're just
proving it here.

And, oh no, personal information being posted to the web? Oh no! No
fucking psychopath would even bother to fuck with you retards. And if
they did, what, can't you take care of yourselves? You love to feel like
powerless victims at the mercy of a cruel heartless world, don't you?

Go kill yourselves and leave alone the rare folks like cat who actually do
something useful here.

It may not make it "True" but its a fairly
common and rather successful propaganda technique
whereby many people are convinced of the "Truth"
of a statement or opinion just because its
repeated so often.

One thing our friendly feline has gong for
her in this particular instance is that the
malcontents who are attempting to harass her are
just pissing in the wind, with predictable
results. Its only a matter of time till their
little minds get distracted from their attempt to
slander our friendly feline and find some other
more easily offended victim to torture with their
vicious, violent and vindictive hostility towards
anyone whom they understand to be more
knowledgeable than they are.

While not discounting that the typical troll
on the list is really a 5th columnist attempting
to degrade and destroy the very things these news
groups purport to be about i suspect rather that
its pure jealousy of people they hate because
those people have a degree of success and a
relatively fulfilling life, the trolls do not.

Gather my herds, dear? You apparently think I can't have an opinion that is

Cat does not contribute to this group, although she freely steals material
for her commercial enterprise from it. She is not an RP or in anyway a
member of our ARW family.
She has come in here, plagiarized (stolen) a post *I* made, and has added
personal information then posted in a web site. This is her little temper
tantrum because she was caught in an act of plagiarizing a member if this
group and forced to remove his content from her commercial site Now she is
retaliating by not only attacking him and our group but by committing the
highest treason of the Witchcraft world by outing people of the Craft.
So yes, Will, she is that bad- and worse

I like that analogy. One of the arw trolls or flamers (sorry, i did
not keep the original ascription) tagged me "The Evil Bitch-Queen of
Death." I don't care for it much, because i prefer to be universally
loved and admired -- and also, if i am going to be vilified, i prefer
snappier titles (my years in the comic book industry speaking here).
Even Elivira Mistress of the Dark, with one of the longer names in
show business, puts the Elvira part on top, in large type, and the
Mistress of the Dark part underneath, in small type.

Oh for pity's sake, David, you and others on ARW have splashed
personal information all over the newsgroup whenver you get angry, and
its been a tactic in your ongoing, inane flame wars for literally
years.

The sandbox bullies on ARW have sown a good many fistsfull of wind and
seem now to be ready to reap a whirlwind or two (were this anything
but a tempest in a teapot).

If you know how to use a computer the
information is already there, pull your logic
probe out of your ass and apply it as it was
designed to be used rather than as a means to
simulate your obviously waning libido.

Joseph (there is here a conflict between private
and public morality. The soldier who rushes
through the barrage to pick up a hopelessly
mutilated comrade is a hero, doubtless; but he is
only a patriot indirectly, because his spirit is
on the whole a good example. But modern
humanitarianism runs deliberately counter to
Nature's determination to eliminate the unfit.
Huxely has argued the position at great length in
Evolution and Ethics, and he shows that our
efforts to upset the balance of Nature are
necessarily futile in the long run, and therefore
a waste of strength. We should rather aid Nature
by subjecting every newcomer to the most rigorous
tests of his fitness to deal with his
environment. The human race grew in stature and
intelligence as long as individual prowess
achieved security, so that the strongest and
cleverest people were abel to reproduce their kind
in the best conditions. But when security became
general through the operation of altruism, the
most degenerate of the people were often the
offspring of the strongest. There was no
necessity for them to emulate the virtues of their
grandfathers in order to maintain the positions
which they had inherited. The altruism of the
ancestor himself, in safeguarding his stock from
adversity, became the ruin of his race. The whole
of human history shows that the kindest thing one
can do to any one is not to interfere with him.)

Usenet is Usenet, and the web is the web. One tends to be quite a bit more

I thought it would contain or name, names,
alas, it appears that it does not, i had hoped to
have my own homework done for me and merely have
to use the compilers astute discernment as a
template for my own mail filters. Or is there a
file i don't know about that is "THE LIST"?

BZZZTT...WRONG!

One is more publicized than the other, and thus one is more public. In the

Nope. Usenet has been public since circa 1980. Archives going back almost
that far are available on Google. This is exactly as public as a web page.

Usenet and the WWW are equally public. Both are just as public as TV,
though arguably less popular.

But don't take my word for it. Ask a lawyer.

heh lol

I have to admit, one of the things I love best on usenet is watching
people desperately trying to prove a weird and unlikely point
inventing WHOLE NEW FORMS OF LOGIC in order to do so.

It reaffirms my faith in the fundamental fecundity of the human
spirit.

The really funny thing about Parse's outre premise that the web is
"more public" than usenet is that usenet is ARCHIVED FOREVER, but a
web page can be put up and taken down without a trace.

Neither electronic format is "more public" but one is certainly MORE
ACCESSIBLE FOREVER -- and that's *usenet* -- not the web.

Yes, but, while only 95% of information on the web is assumed to be
incorrect, 140% of all information on usenet is correct. Thus, while the
information is here, the probability of it being correct is below 0.

No, you're incorrect in this. It's not a binary thing. By that reasoning,
email is public, as well.

No, you're incorrect. Usenet is as 'accessible forever' as Usenet. Visit
archive.org.

Regardless, the popularity of a medium and the relevance of this is an
important element of tort law. There is a huge distinction between
publishing libel in a technical journal, and publishing it in some small
newsletter.

But this is an extremely important point, Joe. If they can just show
that the web is more public than usenet, then that will prove beyond a
shadow of a doubt that Cat is evil incarnate. She's probably worse
than that Hitler guy.

Okay, I invoked Godwin's law, will this stupid thread die now?

Egad! It is the kkkarlin reincarnate. Im just surprised at how low
the KKKarlin feels it has to stoop to imitate itself. As much as i may
sympathize with the Palestinian cause being half Jew myself it seems
tactically stupid to accuse a Jewess of being in any way comparable to
the aforementioned german. But also about as stupidly angry at itself
to do so as only the kkkarlin would be. Get it "asyia" your a pariah, a
scavenger dog that has no thought beyond eating itself as painfully as
it can and howeling at others to join the feast of yourself, give it up
before you are consumed by your own self loathing:)

Perhaps, Jani, (alt.religion.wicca) I'll take you with me. Then again, perhaps I'll kill you then rape your corpse. I hear eye sockets feel real good without eyes and in cold blood. Are you slitches awake yet?

Good. Stay awake and leave your petty and infantile flame wars out of alt.magick. That is where I dwell and teach. The Yronwoods will get theirs, in due time.

That'll be all.
