> "The choice of color is not explained, although Muslim influence may be

> well as of Al-Khadir]; the green robe would thus signify the robe of
> Paradise, and the garment of the new age" (Sabbatai Sevi: The Mystical
> Messiah, p. 242)
Khadir or the Green Man in Sufism is an aspect of Allah just as shakhs
nurani or the Man of Light (HGA) is.
The terms "Emerald Rock" called also the "Mystic Orient" (Binah to the
Kabbalist) found only after the 'return' from annihilation (dissolution)
by the Divine Black Light (nur-e siyah) is found throughout Sufi literature
describing Paradise. Perhaps it's not surprising that the same state of
being in China is called "Jade Palace" by Taoists: Omnipresence of the
Unmanifest Absolute, Non-Being and Prakasha found in the center of Vimarsha
that surpasses the Manifest Absolute's (Hadit) circumference.
"There are two principal Robes, the white and the black; of these the black
is more important than the white.."
--Crowley 'Aba,' Part II, Chapter XII.
White= Being; Black=Dissolution.
Green Robes are worn only by Sufi Saints in Islam.

As far as the Elemental colors go, we've flogged this horse near into
perfection in this ng, and it really depends on which magical system you're
working with so let me refer you to Goethe's expose' on physiological colors
first;
"If the polarity of yellow and blue has truly been grasped, if in particular
their intensification into red has been well noted and it has become clear
how these opposites tend toward one another and reunite into a third color,
then it cannot be doubted that the intuition of a profound secret is
beginning to dawn in us, a foretaste of the possibility that a spiritual
meaning might be attributed to these two separate and mutually opposed
entities. When they are seen to produce green below and red above, one can
hardly refrain from thinking that one is contemplating here the earthly
creatures and there the heavenly creatures of the Elohim."
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, 'Farbenlehre.'
So when you see green working with blue, how are you using blue? Air or
Water?
Could you give specifics from your journal entry on how and perhaps why it
occurred?
I would advise using only the color associated with each Element in its
respective corner. Without a clear and concise symbol placement their will
be no order in your workings. The G:.D:. use Blue for Water in their Kerubic
and Enochian rituals and Air for Tattwas.
Here is the first Elemental color placement: Fire -White- North; Air -Red-
East; Water -Green- West; Earth -Black- South, given by John Dee and Edward
Kelley.
G:.D:. : Air - Yellow; Water - Blue; Earth - Black; and Fire - Red.
"New Aeon" : the same as the Golden Dawn but earth is green.
If I were you I look at the differences in doctrine between all of these
colors real close. If you set to it and can't see either a doctrine in each
set and differences between them, you've no business dabbling in ritual.
I think it's rather humorous how easily you and Brett bought into Poke's bs.
I'll tell you what, King Iczhodical and King Ghob will indeed like you to
use Green for your Earth Pentagrams, but King Bnapsen in Binah won't.
Gnome's a Black Magician, btw.

Horse? Color? WHAT COLOR WAS THE HORSE!
I'm saddened that talk of the Green Man failed to catch fire here, but
there you go.
"KHEZR, the Hidden Prophet, the Green Man, King of Hyperborea, wily
servant of Moses, trickster-cook of Alexander, Khezr who drank fro the
fountain of life in the Land of Darkness. Flowers and herbs spring up in
his footsteps and he strolls across the water, walking toward Ibn Arabi's
ship, coming closer; his green robe trailing on green waves -- or perhaps
woven of waves. Or Khezr appears in the desert with water and initiation
for the masterless ones, the mad and blameworthy, the unique ones. 'And
three things of this life are worthy of the Glance: water, green things
and a beautiful face.'" (Peter Lamborn Wilson, SACRED DRIFT)
Elias Artista, hidden master, patron of alchemy. Knight of Infinite
Silence and Faith.
"The Arabic word for chivalry is akhdar, which also means 'fine woman' and
derives from the root KHDR. There are many other derivations from this
root, including Khidr, patron saint of the Sufi groups known as halkas, or
circles of thirteen. Khidr is identical with St. George, who originated in
Persia and was adopted sometime around 1350 as patron saint of the
imitative [sic -- "initiative"?] chivalric Order of the Garter under King
Edward III. ... The name of the Sufi saint Khidr also means 'the Green
One' -- green being the Sufi traditional color signifying initiation. It
is worth recalling here that followers of the semi-legendary Robin Hood
who, in some versions, is seen as leader of a secret, chivalric or
humanitarian vigilante group, in others as the head of a witch coven, were
said to have adopted Lincoln Green as the color of their dress." (Kenneth
Rayner Johnson, THE FULCANELLI PHENOMENON)
You and I are not compatible, for you have drunk long draughts of the
water of immortality so that you will always exist, and I wish to give up
my life.
"Some have identified Khezr with St. George -- but he might more
accurately be seen as both St. George and the dragon in one figure.
Nature, for esoteric Islam, does not need to be PINNED DOWN like some
biology specimen [or La Aguilera, Fighter] or household pest -- there
exists no deep moral struggle between Nature and Order in the Islamic
worldview. The 'spirits' of Nature such as Khezr and the djinns -- who are
in a sense the principles of natural power -- recognize in the Muhammadan
Light that green portion of the spectrum upon which they themselves are
situated." (Wilson)
Little green men? Green dragons, green lions, green gold, green fruit!

"When you collect marine animals there are certain flat worms so delicate
that they are almost impossible to capture whole, for they break and
tatter under the touch. You must let them ooze and crawl of their own will
onto a knife blade and then lift them gently into your bottle of sea
water. And perhaps that might be the way to write this book -- to open the
page and to let the stories crawl in by themselves." (John Steinbeck,
CANNERY ROW)
The triple goddess, white red and black so beloved by Robert Graves and
neopagans has a fourth face. She is sometimes white, sometimes red,
sometimes black but she is always green, always herself when the masks
come down.

"Nostoc. This cryptogam[1] which rural people well know, is found all over
the country [FRANCE], sometimes on the grass, sometimes on the bare earth,
in fields, beside paths, on the edge of woods. In the early morning in
spring you will find masses of it, swollen like the morning dew. These
plants, which are jelly-like and trembling -- hence the French name
Tremelles -- are usually greenish and dry up so rapidly under the action
of the sun's rays that it is impossible to find any trace of them, even on
the spot where they had opened out only a few hours previously. The
combination of all these characteristics -- sudden appearance, absorption
of water and swelling, green color, soft and glutinous consistency -- have
prompted the philosophers to take these algae as the hieroglyph of their
Matter." (Fulcanelli, CATHEDRALS)
The saxifrage:
Her new boyfriend read auras, or claimed to. We stayed up late, the three
of us, talking and drinking Bud Light, a six pack apiece. He confesses
that my aura is apparently unusual, it is a cornerless blue like the sky
except when I turn in her direction, at which point it becomes a green
like sunlight through leaves. "Just like hers," he says. He jumps. "It
just flashed white," he says. It won't happen again, I say, last one out
turn out the lights. And then I start to cry.
Let Lamborn Wilson pick up the aria, writing in 1993 about events that
took place exactly one turn of Jupiter ago, summer of the aura:
"The West now no longer takes itself seriously as Champion of God, and
speaks instead of Capital, Family Values, New World Order. As for Islam,
it sometimes seems to want to represent itself as an emaciated parody of
itself, stripped of all organic subtlety, 'purified' to the point of
mindlessness. The recent Nintendo War in the Gulf was a struggle between
two commodities, not two ideals -- pure spectacle, two ignorant armies
clashing by the light of a flickering cathode...."
Orgone is blue
dilly dilly
lavender's green
***I've often meditated on this - the fertility aspect of Mor Rigna - the
phantom queen that seems to dictate our appearance and disappearance -
transient as you say. The function of ritual warfare, cleansing the land,
and refertilising it. The elven rings and the One Ring were made under
the same principle, though by different hands (ruby, adamant, and
sapphire - red white and blue). Who (in JRRT's story) brought them low?
The Elf-stone (beryl - green) who had wandered far - A son of the White
Tree.

***Reminds me of watching my father on his TR(a)S(h)-80 with those huge
diskettes - playing RPG's with & and @ symbol monsters and ^ caret
mountains. What's the ASCII symbol for oil wells? $ just seems too
obvious.
I always remembered the horse as being purple - at least in childhood
memories.

No wonder i was seeing blue and green during a LBRP then! Maybe old Gnome is
onto something. Great post btw, lots to think about.

So funny that I just hit the play button on my CD player and am
listening to the Coors "When the Stars go Blue".
Where do you go when you're lonely
Where do you go when you're blue
Where do you go?
I'll follow
When the Stars go blue
That's...."The Corrs", not the beer.
Damn, did that on my homecut CD too.
Except, unless I am remembering wrong, blue stars are the newborns. : )
Its the red stars that are old.

I'll answer this. I'm still not sure myself why it occurs. Altho i have been
doing things differently with the LBRP lately by invoking the HGA during the
KC. While visualizing growing in size during the Kabbalistic Cross i imagine
becoming one with the HGA and *then* doing the LBRP. Kind of like there are
2 M/me's. A small one and a large one. So during the KC i imagine making the
two into one.
Other things i have changed in the LBRP are during the invoking of the
Archangels i Astrally breath into thier quarters while pronouncing their
names- using my breath to invoke them/build a thoughtform for them. When i
say "Astrally breath" what i mean is i am facing East physically during the
invokation of them but i face their quarters mentally/astrally (with eyes
closed). Does that make sense?
Anyway, maybe the HGA is trying to tell me something about these colours.
During the LBRP i was trying to visualize them as blue but they were kind of
flickering between blue and green- hence my question to Gnome. Robert Scott
Martins' post has given me things to think about though- especially because
of how i am invoking the HGA by envisioning myself growing in size out into
the Universe.

You missed out the Native American Medicine Wheel colors. And i will use
whatever colors i am led to use, because i can. ;)
I would be insterested though if you know why the GD used black for Earth.
