Body of Haskell man found in Wanaque River
Sunday, July 25, 1999
WANAQUE -- The body of a Haskell man who apparently drowned
accidentally was found in the Wanaque River off Highland Avenue
late Friday afternoon, police said.
Donald Garbarino, 43, of Storms Avenue was found floating in the
river by Kenneth Fletcher of Wanaque about 4 p.m. Friday. Fletcher
called Wanaque police, who responded with the Passaic County Sheriff's
Department scuba team.
The body was retrieved from the water and positively identified
through information contained in a wallet Garbarino was carrying,
police said.
The preliminary finding is that the death was an accidental drowning,
police said. Wanaque police Saturday could not say how long Garbarino
was in the water or provide specifics on the accident.
Fletcher could not be reached for comment.
The investigation is being continued by the New Jersey Regional Medical
Examiner's Office in Newark.

Actually the "Psychic" people stand more of a chance of posession
then the non-psychic. This is because they are open and can be
manipulated much easier then non psychics. Plus, I tell everyone

Just to let everyone know, another death has just recently happened
at the vortex. This time a 44 year old man who was well known in the
town. he was face down back by the river (right now the river is no
more then 6 inches deep in most places). Oh yeah, no signs of foul
play. This was just in the local Trends newspaper. I wonder what he
saw before he died? Just a thought..

The article was in last wednesdays Trends. If you call the paper

There has been a number of deaths over the years that I've been in
Wanaque in this area. The last really wierd death was last year at
the bridge. A women stops her car right in the middle of the bridge.
The car (from what I hear) was full of jewelry and over 100,000
dollars. She stops, goes to the edge and jumps 90 ft to her death.
For no reason! Why would someone do that? Oh, and the night before
the bridge officially opened two kids in a car speeding over a
hundred miles an hour crash without breaking into the cement divider,
both dead. These are just a few stories of this area and death. I
hear there is more but I just can't remember the details. I tell you
being back there by yourself can be nerve racking sometimes even for
myself. I have personally gone to the whole area and searched the
swamps well over 600 times. people that know me will back me up on
this. I will tell you this people have a lot to say from the safty
of their homes when making statements about this research but I
really do love it when every now and then one gets to go out there
and really do the field research with me. When something does happen
(I mean this third dimensionally) and they witness it, the people
simply melt and I mean that. Then of course I never hear from them
again.
For your last question, last year when the drought was on there were
physical creatures back there by the water. Why? I'm not sure yet.
But that was the time I filmed some of my best pictures!
It takes big balls to go back and walk the river and swamps from the
sand pits to Pompton Lakes by yourself. At least that is what people
tell me when they find out where I go. But, thats where the beings are,
where people aren't. I use myself as bait, so far I'm unharmed but I
believe people every now and then go back there and that's it, they
meet something they are not prepared for and we read about them in the
obits.

The reason I warn people about this vortex is simply because I feel
it is the right thing to do. people have called me everything from
a horder to wanting all the glory of the discovery. Well I'm not
hording and there isn't any glory in this discovery. I have never
told anyone "NOT TO GO" or "I forbid you to go" I just tell them
it's dangerous and unless your really prepared, don't
chance it.
