an imperative will develop for a standardized

Will that standard of utilitarian conformity
end the short reign of individuality? Or was
individuality an illusion all along? Perhaps
individuality was a temporary necessity for
biology to transcend the violent chaos of a
predatory environment, thus ensuring the
eventual flowering of a sturdier, nano-
engineered infrastructure which will
survive solar inflation and planet-death?
Hence... a means to an end?

I am perplexed!
For an awareness to be aware of itself at this
threshold in history with this kind of imminent
transition (regardless of its multigenerational
time-frame) does seem a bit taxing to the
spirit, yes? No? Perhaps...

Cantor Aide Leaving To Form Super PAC

A top staffer to House Majority Leader
Eric Cantor is leaving his post to launch a
super PAC aimed at raising the national
profiles of like-minded, young conservatives.

According to the National Journal,
"John Murray" <john....@mail.house.gov>,
Cantor's deputy chief of staff, will soon leave
Capitol Hill to begin raising money for a
"Young Guns" super PAC; Murray later told
Politico that he will leave at the end of
the week. The PAC's name comes from the label
Cantor and fellow GOPers Paul Ryan (R-WI) and
Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) adopted to describe their
brand of conservatism that, in the wake of the
spend-happy Bush years, sought to return to
traditional fiscal conservative policies.

In raising huge sums of cash, the PAC would
be able to effectively boost legislators onto
the national scene. In the case of Cantor,
who has become a major thorn in President
Obama's side by marshaling strong GOP
opposition to Democratic bills in the House,
it could be used as a springboard to
higher office.

Some conservatives have floated Cantor as
a possible late entrant into the 2012
presidential race, though its doubtful he
will join the fray so late in the season.
However, with a fundraising machine behind
him and a heightened national profile, he
could latch on to the number two slot with
the eventual nominee.

ancestors of Homo sapiens. During the next underworld,
starting thirteen piktuns or 102,000 years ago,
Homo sapiens emerged, developing spoken language.
The sixth underworld comprises the Great Cycle of
thirteen baktuns, beginning 5,125 years before the
approaching birth date, when we created patriarchal
civilization, law, and written language -- Calleman
calls this the National Underworld. The seventh
step, dubbed the Planetary Underworld, thirteen
katuns or 256 years, beginning in AD 1755, introduced
industrialization, electricity, technology, modern
democracy, gene splicing, and the atom bomb. Our
knowledge became Faustian power over the physical
world. The eighth level -- the Galactic Underworld --
thirteen tuns or 12.8 years, began in 1999, with the
development of the Internet into a global
communications infrastructure. The final step,
thirteen uinals or 260 days, will lead, Calleman
believes, to the attainment of "nondual cosmic
consciousness" across the earth. By the end of
this Universal Underworld, humanity will have crossed
the threshold of the abyss, confronting the shadow
projections of the Apocalypse, to become conscious
cocreators of reality.
Each step on the pyramid "corresponds to a
certain frequency of consciousness," in which
evolution operates twenty times faster than the
previous phase. According to Calleman's thesis,
"In the Galactic Underworld, as much change must
happen in a tun (360 days) as happened in a katun
(19.7 years) during the Planetary Underworld, or in
a baktun (394 years) of the National Underworld."
Perhaps for this reason, the twenty-year "Generation
Gap" of the previous era no longer seems applicable
to our situation, which requires increasing
flexibility and adaptability to navigate.
Institutional structures formed over the last 250
years of the Planetary Underworld, from the nuclear
family to the nation-state, seem to be losing their
stability as we go deeper into the Galactic
Underworld. At the same time, scientific
breakthroughs proliferate, as we receive increasingly
accurate data about the universe in which we are
embedded. Calleman believes that understanding the
spiral dynamics of evolution expressed through the
Mayan calendar is, in itself, an aspect of the
Divine Plan: "Taking responsibility as a cocreator
with God presupposes a basic understanding of how
creation works."
Confusingly, Calleman's interpretation
of the Mayan calendar puts the crescendo of
all human history back a year -- even more
breathtakingly close to our dangerously
fragmented present tense.
According to his thesis, based on his own
interpretation of the sacred calendar's
energetic shifts, global humanity will attain
nondualistic enlightened consciousness by the
end of October 2011. "It will simply not be
possible not to be enlightened after October
28, 2011,' he confidently asserts, "or at
least from a certain time afterward when the
new reality has definitely manifested."
The final year of the calendar will be used,
he conjectures, for celebrating and adjusting
to our new circumstances of unlimited bliss
and creative freedom.
In the thirty years since the publication
of the McKenna brothers' book, 'The Invisible
Landscape,' a new outsider paradigm has
crystallized, in which time reveals, in
McKenna's words, "a built-in spiral
structure." From this perspective, "2012"
represents reconciliation as well as reversal.
At that near-point in our future, science will
reintegrate with aboriginal wisdom, rights
will meet lefts, the carapace of modern
technology will crumble as new support systems
self-organize, causing a momentous polar shift
in human thought and human values -- from
alienation to integration, from deformed and
spatialized time to synchronic harmony, from
either patriarchal or matriarchal dominance to
true partnership, from ego-based delusions to
global telepathy. As a dialectic synthesis of
Eastern enlightenment and Western curiosity,
the Maya--voyagers over obsidian oceans of
time -- depart the dusty dioramas of the past
to await us up ahead, in the state of being
called "time-freedom" by Jean Gebser; a new
world reality that would be, as Gebser slyly
suggested, also a new world unreality.
According to Calleman's study of the Mayan
system, within each of the nine underworlds,
there are cyclic pulsations of light and dark
energies, which he calls "Days" and "Nights."
Whether 16 billion years or 260 days long, each
underworld contains a pattern of seven days and
six nights, a partition into thirteen stages,
each stage represented by a different Mayan
deity. With its Seven Days of Creation,
Calleman's reading of the Mayan calendar neatly
enfolds the Judeo-Christian creation myth
presented in Genesis. He argues that the energy
shifts that manifest within each cycle become
predictable, once the entire pattern is
understood. According to Calleman, the crucial
forward step in the evolution of consciousness
takes place during the "Fifth Day" of each
underworld, ruled by the energy of Quetzalcoatl.
The previous form of consciousness asserts itself
through final acts of destruction during the
Fifth Night that follows, ruled by the energy of
Tezcatlipoca. The 256-year cycle of thirteen
katuns that began with the Industrial Revolution,
which Calleman dubs the Planetary Underworld,
reached its darkest point during the Fifth Night
of 1932 to 1952, the period of Nazism, the Second
World War, the Holocaust, and the dropping of the
atomic bombs on Japanese cities (in the 5,125-
year National Cycle that preceded it, the Fifth
Night, AD 434 to 829, corresponded to the collapse
of the Roman Empire). The cycle of thirteen tuns
that began in November 1999 will, likewise, reach
its midnight hour, its involuntary crescendo,
during the year 2008. Interestingly, various
studies on the immanent peak oil crisis point to
2008 as the year when resources of energy, food,
and water will become critically stressed.
Calleman proposes that this period could
see a global financial and ecological collapse,
accompanied by nightmarish misuses of power on
the part of the ruling elite. "In Night Five,
ruled by Tezcatlipoca, the lord of darkness...
we will see the last desperate and at the same
time most forceful, attempt to secure control
by the forces seeking to maintain dominance."
Such an interregnum could also provide the
opportunity to circulate a new vision of what
this world could be, and disseminate the tools
and principals to implement it.
Right now, we are being forced to witness
the shadow of the psyche projected into
material form through systemic misuse of
technology, biospheric destruction, and corrupt
geopolitics based on entrenched egotism and
greed. As predicted by McKenna, Arguelles, and
Calleman, time itself seems to be changing form,
accelerating and intensifying, as events follow
each other at breakneck pace. A cynical or
nihilistic perspective on the imminent fate of
our species is, of course, plausible, but
unproductive. In fact, if consciousness is
intertwined with physical reality, then a
nihilistic perspective actively helps to bring
a nihilistic result into manifestation.
The alternate hypothesis of this book sees the
destruction of the biosphere and the development
of technology as by-products, nondual and
integral aspects, of our psycho-spiritual
evolution. If the shadows appear to be growing
darker, it is because the light that casts them
is getting brighter.
Clearly, the shift to a higher form of
consciousness could not happen passively.
The transformation of consciousness requires
not only personal work, but direct and
surgically precise engagement with ecological,
political, psychological, commercial,
technological, and spiritual aspects of
reality -- as Nietzche noted, the deed creates
the doer, "as an afterthought."
It is inconceivable that a movement to a state
of higher consciousness could take place in a
subconscious murk. Such a shift could take place
in only one way: in the full light of
consciousness. To accomplish this would require
the complete engagement of our will and our
higher cognitive faculties. We would have to
decondition ourselves from negative programming,
overcoming distractions and self-justifications
and egocentric goals -- to "abandon abandonment"
and "escape escapism," as I was once told in a
dream -- in order to act for the greater good.
At the moment, it is unclear how much sacrifice
will be necessary. As futurist thinker Barbara
Marx Hubbard writes in her book, Conscious
Evolution:

'If the positive innovations connect
exponentially before the massive
breakdowns reinforce one another, the
system can repattern itself to a higher
order of consciousness and freedom
without the predicted economic,
environmental, or social collapse....
If the system could go either way, a
slight intervention to assist the
convergence of the positive can tip
the scales of evolution in favor of
the enhancement of life on Earth.'

If our current civilization were to
disintegrate -- a possibility that should not
seem outlandish, considering the New Orleans
flood, peak oil theories, and numerous
ecological factors -- we might face an
apocalyptic passage, forcing us to evolve at

its massive foreign holdings into gold
and away from the US dollar, undermining
the dollar's role as the world's reserve
currency, accoding to a recently released
WikiLeaks cable.

"They [the US and Europe] intend to weaken
gold's function as an international reserve
currency. They don't want to see other
countries turning to gold reserves instead
of the US dollar or Euro," stated the 2009
cable, quoting Chinese Radio International.
"China's increased gold reserves will thus
act as a model and lead other countries
towards reserving more gold."

The cable is titled "China increases its
gold reserves in order to kill two birds
with one stone". Taken together with recent
policy announcements from Chinese banking
officials, it may signal moves by China to
eventually replace the US dollar as the
world's reserve currency.

Last week, European business officials
announced that China plans to make its
currency, the yuan, fully convertible
for trading on international markets
by 2015. Zhou Xiaochuan, governor of
China's central bank, said the offshore
market for the yuan is "developing faster
than we had imagined" but there is no
definitive timetable for making the
currency fully convertible. Presently,
the yuan cannot be easily converted into
other currencies, because of government
restrictions. . . .

. . .In March 2011, China held $3.04tn US
dollars in reserves, Xinhua news agenecy
reported. It is the largest holder of US
treasuries, or government debt, with
$1.166tn as of June 30, 2011, according
to the San Francisco Chronicle. Thus, major
devaluation of the dollar would hurt China,
as it would be left holding wads of
worthless paper.

"If you owe the bank $100, that's your
problem. If you owe the bank $100m,
that's the bank's problem," American
industrialist Jean Paul Getty once remarked,
in a parable that sums up China's predicament.

"China is locked into a position where they
cannot sell a big portion of their dollar
reserves overnight without hurting themselves,"
Aizenman said. "It is too late for now to
diversify rapidly the stock they have already
accumulated."

The answer: Buy gold. Everyone seems to be doing it.
The value of the glistening commodity, useless for
most practical purposes, increased almost 400 per
cent, from less than $500 an ounce in 2005 to about
$1,900 in September.

"Gold has risen in value because of uncertainty
in the world economy," said Mark Weisbrot, the
co-director of the Centre for Economic and
Policy Research, a think-tank in Washington.
"Normally, gold would rise due to high inflation.
It is a store of value that increases if there is
inflation. But in this case it is going up because
nobody knows where else to put their money."

In the WikiLeaks cable, China alleged that
"the US and Europe have always suppressed
the rising price of gold", but neither Weisbrot
or Aizenman think such a policy is taking place

Even if the UFO is bunk, it has become modernity's
great mythic mirror. The first "flying saucers"
were sighted in 1947 by Kenneth Arnold, in the year
that gave us the CIA and information theory, in the
decade that gave us TV, the Bomb, digital computers,
and LSD. The UFO is part of a package deal--a rumor
of god stitched into the dark web of our
military-industrial-media complex.

Though habitually keeping a low profile, the
visitors have been pretty busy since '47.
The UFO and its trickster crew have crash-landed,
pulled fly-bys, delivered messages of doom and
gnostic salvation, sucked bovine blood, conspired
with the Air Force, stolen embryos from Middle
American housewives, f...ed Brazilian farmers
silly, and rammed ... probes into horror
fiction writers. But though millions believe,
and many more are cautiously credulous, the aliens

of cranky pursuits for the "nuts and bolts" that
will prove the existence of material
extraterrestrial spacecraft, some ufologists

candidates they have bought and the movement
that supports them, they are now breaking
and reshaping the system to serve their
interests. We knew this once, but now we've
forgotten. What hope do we have of resisting
a force we won't even see?

If we were able to remain conscious as we dreamed,

Steiner's work, William Irwin Thompson characterizes
the "Steinerian vision" as one that "looks at the
human as so completely embedded in the animal,
vegetal, and mineral evolution of the solar system

books, Steiner describes "lower creatures" such as
the goblins and other "root spirits," as well as
great cosmic entities, angelic hierarchies, and
higher spiritual beings.
In earlier phases of development, humanity had
a deep affinity, an unconscious attunement, to the
Earth and the cosmos. This affinity is reflected in
our oldest stories and mythologies, which reveal
cosmological secrets about the movements of the
planets and the stars, as well as evolutionary
processes in the history of the Earth. Thompson
considers fairy tales and myths to be "forms of
cultural storage for the natural history of life."
He proposes that the ancient saga telling of fairies
defeating goblins and banishing them beneath the
Earth is a representation, as myth, of the original
"pollution crisis," more than 500 million years ago,
when cyanobacteria developed photosynthesis, creating
an oxygen-rich environment that was poisonous for
other life forms, radically transforming the
biosphere to make it sustainable for larger mammals.
Translating from myth to biology, Thompson proposes
that "the goblins are the anaerobic bacteria who
live on and in our wastes and garbage, and the
fairies, those airy creatures of light, are the
cyanobacteria that were the first to invent

illuminated world." Anaerobic cells contain no

Dr. David Abram: All right, let's return to the Navajo,
and the nilch'i, the Holy Wind. This notion of mind as
wind, it can seem very alien to us today, until we look
at the evidences in our own language. In English, our
word "spirit" is embedded in our word "respiration",
in the Latin word "spiritus", which means "a breath",
or "a gust of wind." So, spirit and wind were once the
same thing. Our word "psyche" from which we get
"psychology" and "psychiatry", this word for the mind,
originates in the old Greek word, "psychein," which
means "to breathe," or "to blow", like the wind.
And, for the ancient Greeks, psyche, a psyche, was a
breath, or a gust of wind. The word "animal" comes from
this old word for "soul," "anima". Animal is a being
of soul, being is a unanimous sharing one mind, together,
and one soul, together. Anima--this word also originally
means "a breath" or "a gust of wind." Even such a
scientifically respectable word as "atmosphere" shows
its link to the Hindu word "atman," meaning "soul," the
original word being "atmos" which is the air, which is
the soul, or, the soul which is the air.
The Hebrew people, ancient tribal people, also has a
word which means spirit and wind, inseparably, just
like nilch'i, of the Navajo. The Hebrew word is "ruah"
which is perhaps best translated as "rushing spirit".
It is the wind which is the spirit, or the spirit which
is the wind, and it's very sacred within the Hebrew
tradition. It's there in the first sentence of Genesis:
'The world was without form and void and a ruah of God
moved over the waters'. A wind of God moved over the
waters. Wind is the very presence of the Divine in the
material, sensuous world, that is ruah. But, it's not
the most sacred word within the Hebrew tradition.
The most sacred combination of letters would be the
four-letter name of God. The Tetragrammaton, YHWH,
or as it's called 'Yahweh'. Very sacred, very secret.
We're not even sure how YHWH is to be pronounced. Why?
Because there are no vowels in the name; it's just the
letters: Y, H, W, H. Why didn't we write down the
vowels? Well, because the vowels are the breath sounds,
and the breath is the ruah. It is the invisible spirit.
And, you cannot make a visible representation of the
invisible spirit. It would be sacrilege. And, so, in
the ancient Hebrew writing system, there are no vowels
written down. Only the consonants are written.
And, the reader has to add the appropriate vowels,
just to intuit what vowels to sound out as he or she
is feeling her way through the consonants on the page.
It's as if you have to add your breath to those bones
on the page to make them come alive and to speak.
So, the Hebrews, who are the first keepers of the
alphabet, of the Aleph Bet, of this magical, phonetic
writing system, they did something very interesting.
They became literate, in relation to the visible world,
and the visible shapes of the world. And, they would
say, God is not that tree. And, God is not that golden
calf, is not in any visible image. That is not divine.
God is elsewhere. So, they developed this new literate
distance from the visible world.
But, they stayed oral with relation to the invisible
breath, to the wind, to the invisible ruah that moves
between all things. It's very interesting. [...]

tau-leptons resulting from the interaction of
tau-neutrinos will be observed in "bricks" of
photographic emulsion films interleaved with

and spectrometers) and ancillary infrastructure.

are sent over 700km through the Earth's crust
to the laboratory in Italy.

The OPERA experiment, which observes a
neutrino beam from CERN 730 km away at
Italy's INFN Gran Sasso Laboratory, will
present new results in a seminar at
CERN today.

The OPERA result is based on the observation
of over 15000 neutrino events measured at
Gran Sasso, and appears to indicate that the
neutrinos travel at a velocity 20 parts per
million above the speed of light, nature's
cosmic speed limit. Given the potential
far-reaching consequences of such a result,
independent measurements are needed before
the effect can either be refuted or firmly
established. This is why the OPERA
collaboration has decided to open the
result to broader scrutiny.

An early arrival time of CNGS muon neutrinos
with respect to the one computed assuming the
speed of light in vacuum of (60.7 \pm 6.9
(stat.) \pm 7.4 (sys.)) ns was measured.
This anomaly corresponds to a relative
difference of the muon neutrino velocity
with respect to the speed of light
(v-c)/c = (2.48 \pm 0.28 (stat.) \pm 0.30

I had a vivid dream [eleven months] ago
about Deepak Chopra. I was in some kind of
room or chapel sitting on a wooden bench amid
a row of such benches or pews. The room was
full of people likewise seated. Deepak Chopra
entered the room from a side passage, and
everyone stood up, myself included. Suddenly
it occurred to me that I was standing up for
Deepak Chopra out of respect for his 'great
spirituality', but I didn't really feel that
way at all, so I sat back down. Deepak Chopra
noticed this and came over to me placing his
hand on my back, visibly irritated, and
attempted to make me stand like the others.
I subsequently expressed my outrage with him,
telling him not to touch me, that regardless
of all his many books he is basically a
spiritual materialist, money making fraud,
and so on... His mighty ego grew visibly angry
indeed as I articulated this deep lack of respect.
Upon awakening, I was both amused and surprised
by this dream. I had recently heard a brief
radio interview with Deepak Chopra, about his
new book on Muhammad, and thought it sounded
very interesting and worth reading. I always
considered Deepak Chopra to be one of the cool
people on the planet. Perhaps I'm merely growing
weary of affect and conformity within myself,
and Deepak Chopra is simply an available icon to
cast off, archetypally speaking, or perhaps,
maybe Deepak Chopra really is an ass hole,
or, again, maybe he's just a convenient model to
hang my own 'ass holiness' upon! HAH! ... In any
event, it helps to remember the wise old cliche':
'hindsight is 20/20 vision.' However, if you have
a quantum mechanical bent toward 'back acting'
quantum wave forms collapsing a particle with a
specific history, then all bets are off! AHA!

I liked this novel.
It reminded me a bit of
my childhood's fascination
with world religions.

Never gave 'Islam' much thought; although,
I read once in Crowley, his commentary about
illiterate You-Know-Who's epiphany (so to
speak) resulting from long periods of isolation,
a variation on yoga and meditation, or at least
that was A.C.'s thought.

Only recently have I learned that the Koran,
spoken by 'You-Know-Who,' is really a long
tone-poem. The original Arabic is the only
way to hear the book. It is Onomatopoeia in
uttered form, hence, a great work of auditory
art, and should be regarded, in my opinion, as
a synaesthetic creation. No more, no less.
And I've been meaning to search for a DVD
or some other media or presentation of the
book that is in auditory Arabic with supertitles,
as in contemporary opera. I would like to
experience that manifestation of the crazy Arab's
epiphanous inspired utterance. Very sad, isn't it,
how one man's art becomes generations later, an
excuse to practice a vast institutionalized
rigid misogyny?! Stupid Humans:

It's those freakin' aliens!

They keep beaming these annoying rays at my
head that apparently upload all sorts of data for
their cross-pollination hybridization program and
exo-anthropological post-grad workshops.
Quite frankly, I've had enough, and have taken to
wearing aluminum on my head in an effort to foil
their little science projects at my expense.
Unfortunately, I was all out of Reynold's Wrap
and had to run all over the damn place looking
for a store while precariously holding a pot on
my head which I thought was aluminum, but it
turned out to be stainless steel with a teflon
coating: the worst possible thing you could
wear against these insidious space beams!

Imagine my surprise!!

Well, anyway, I won't bore you with my trivial
little metalurgical burdens; suffice to say,
I am now well stocked with aluminum foil,
(which is kind of pointless considering that
most of the data in my head has all pretty
much been sucked out already).
