Hello all...

Does anyone know where I can find a source for the 16 Geomantic figures
used in divination? I am looking for very thorough descriptions of
their individual meanings. I have found a few sources, but they have
been limited and very short. I'd like the most detailed, lengthy source
possible on the figures themselves, not the divination process.

Any leads are greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
FF

Regardie’s _The Golden Dawn_ or _The Complete Golden Dawn System of Magic_
have a chapter on the subject, but perhaps not in sufficient depth for your
purposes. If not a lead, at least a crumb?

Bill Whitcomb's Magicians companion has a great wealth of information. (ISBN
0-87542-868-1) on all aspects of magick including Geomancy.

yes indeed.

Regardie had a small book out some years ago called 'A Guide to Practical Geomancy'. It was amost a complete lift from
his 'Golden Dawn System' which I recommend heartliy.

Geomancy is a remarkable tool for those who can use it well, it doesnt suit everyone.

Good luck.

Parzifal,

Thanks! I will try to hunt this down...

I am very familiar with Geomantic divination within the African magico-
religious traditions, but I wanted to study the European meanings of
these same symbols.

Thanks for another great lead...

I always check "The Telephone Book" as we nicknamed the Complete GD System
(It's Big and Yellow ;) ) first as there are so many sections. It makes a
good jump point.

As the author of an up-coming book on geomancy I agree that there is little in the way of detailed meanings in the traditional system. I believe it is one of the reasons that geomantic divination has fallen into disuse over the last 400 years. If you would like to, please see my site www.astrogemgeomancy.com to get a feeling for what I mean. I would be happy to talk about this further if you wish.
