Astrological Magick

If you're reading this group, you have something in common with
most of humanity. We all want life to go smoothly and to feel
like we have some control over the way things play out. There is
nothing more natural than that. Our universe and all of life has
an inherent order and structure to it, it follows predictable
patterns that we can follow. That is especially true for the
planets and stars that orbit and revolve through space in
pattern year after year. An understanding of astrological magick
allows you to use the order of the cosmos to take destiny into
your own hands and use planetary influences to create your own
fate. Sounds good, right?


Whether or not we choose to acknowledge it we exist as part of a
whole system. The movements of the cosmos around us do affect
us, and entire civilizations as well. Taking time to learn about
astrology and its place in your magickal practice can help you
find your place in the greater natural flow. And when you are no
longer fighting the flow, everything is effortless.


The planets also influence psychological forces inside of us,
just as the moon controls the tide of the oceans. In ancient
Greece, the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn
were the only recognized planets that could be seen from earth.
Astrologers regard those seven planets as the ones with the most
immediate impact on the individual. The outer planets move
slower, so their influences only change after longer periods of
time and affect entire generations.


There are twelve signs and ten planets used in modern astrology.
Planets travel at different speeds around the Sun, and it takes
twenty five thousand years for all of them to align the same way
again. Consequently, the charts used in astrology and
astrological magick will always be unique. Certain situations
are more likely to happen in certain planetary alignments, in
accordance with natural flow and change. The astrologers job is
to find the correct time and place for their magick to produce
the desired outcome. Patience can be required to wait for the
necessary planetary conditions. Everything we see in an
astrological chart is not fated to happen. Once we are aware of
our situation we can take action and make choices. This can be
done through a ritual, lighting a candle, or casting a spell. It
could also be simply making different decisions that will have
better outcomes.


This requires you to believe in magick. If you don’t believe,
please take a moment and suspend your disbelief before reading
on. Common sense tells us not to believe in things without
evidence. We develop our beliefs from what we are taught and the
world around us. We take for granted that our perception of
reality, our lives, other people, and ourselves is incredibly
subjective. There is more wiggle room, or grey areas, in life
than we realize where it is more than possible to effect change
in unconventional ways. Unless you believe in magick you may
never see it.


For magick to work, you need to believe in two things. That the
spell is possible, and that you can do magick. If you go into
the ritual with the thought that it might not work, nothing will
happen. People new to magic often fail when casting spells
because of their own doubts about magick. The reason this is is
because magick is an act of will, of utilizing your will to
create change of some kind. In the moment of the magickal
working, or spell, you need to be able to focus all your mental
energy and will upon the object of your spell. If you have
doubts, they will only serve to distract you. If you are
skeptical, you will not throw the full force of your will into
the work. This is why it matters to examine any fears or doubts
you have beforehand.


Some other important considerations before we continue:


* A journal is a must. Write in detail about what you want to
accomplish, along with the date and time of your ritual. This is
not only to be able to look back on a record of your magic, it
also increases the energy of the spell as you put it out into
the universe.


* The power of magick is not 100% ours and is not 100% the
positions of the stars either. This means we have to take action
once the ritual is finished and the stars have aligned. Don’t
sit on your butt waiting for results to roll in- make your life
happen!


* Successful magick will work in a way that can seem like
coincidence. By putting ourselves into situations where our
desired outcome can occur we can take advantage of this.


Is Astrology Real?


The Sun controls the seasons and provides energy for life on
Earth. The Moon causes the ocean tides, and helps us sleep at
night. Still, science believes astrology has no influence on our
lives. Science however, has never found consciousness.
Consciousness runs through the nerves in our bodies like
electric cables. In the same way, the planets in astrology are
networked together by light, and consciousness rides this
network like a spirtual highway.

I would like to begin by sharing a few resources that will be
useful when reading this book.


The best free astrology software I've found is called Zodiac,
and runs for Windows and Linux.

Another free tool that runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. It's
called Stellarium. It lets you examine the cosmos in real time
from your location as if you were ina planetarium.

Astrology is a wonderful thing to incorporate into your personal
magick. The energy of the cosmos is a powerful thing. However,
don’t let yourself feel hung-up by the specific times that the
Signs are in the right place for your working. If you really
need to cast something, don’t wait for the perfect moment.


That being said- please take the time to really think about the
energy you are calling on and how it will affect you and what
you’re using it for. It is easy to misuse and get a different
result than you wanted. However, it is also fairly easy to
remedy.

The following charts and descriptions are provided for you to
reference and build your own spells. There are also spells
provided for you later in this section that can be incorporated
in your workings as you choose. Also, I will be discussing
Signs, Planets, and Houses, but do not feel like it is necessary
to incorporate all of those aspects. Again, if you are specific
about the energies you are inviting into your work, you
shouldn’t run into any issues.

A consideration when tapping into Astrological Energy for spell
or ritual is what Planets are in the Astrological Sign you wish
to use. The Signs are constellations made of stars that are
always moving throughout the year as well as the Planets. When a
Planet is in alignment with a Sign, the planet is said to be
“in” that Sign. There is a third element to be considered in
using this type of energy. The sky is divided into what are
called “Houses”. Each house is related to a specific Sign and
shares the same qualities of that Sign- for example the first
House shares qualities of Aries, the second shares qualities of
Taurus, etc. When reading one’s birth chart the houses are
described as representing specific areas of our lives. For
example having Gemini in your first House means that your
outward personality would be seen by others as fun, witty, and
gregarious. This makes Houses an excellent aspect to use in
spellwork. Planets move through all of the Houses as the year
goes on, so it provides many interesting opportunities for
working magick.

So, ideally, you would cast spells when planets and signs were
aligned into the House that worked best for the spell you are
casting. If needed you may decide to wait until the Signs and
Planets would bring the influence you desire. What I find a bit
more practical is to note (Using a computer) where the Signs and
Planets will be in relation to each other in the next few weeks
or even up to the next year- and then consider if there are any
workings I would like to perform that would be harmonious with
those alignments. I find that planning my magick that way also
gives me a Sense of being in tune with the Universe and
following its flow. Do what works for you- if it pleases you to
meticulously plan and wait, then do it. Be yourself.

An Overview of the Sign Effects on Planets


Aries March 21 - April 19


Planets in Aries will be influenced by Aries’ outgoing, fiery
qualities. Aries will bring characteristics of passion,
initiative, competitiveness, and adventurousness to any Planet
in alignment with it.


Taurus April 20 - May 20


Planets in Taurus will be influenced by Taurus’ patient, stable,
and practical qualities. Taurus will bring characteristics of
tenacity, affection, dependability, and strength to any Planet
in alignment with it.


Gemini May 21 - June 20

Notes on the Planets


Sun


The Sun is connected to the conscious mind, and to truth,
beauty, goodness, joy, life, and healing. Its powerful energy
can be used to clear away any negative energy, and to illuminate
anything that seems obscured (people who are lying, lack of
clarity within oneself, apparent lack of options in life, etc)
so that the truth is revealed. It can cast out emotional baggage
and toxic influences in your life. It can also be used to
improve your personality in numerous ways when combined with any
Sign. There is an overall focus on the outer self.


Moon


The Moon is connected to the subconscious, our emotions and
their deeper meanings, as well as illusion and intuition. It is
inherently watery (and thus connected to emotion), as it pulls
on the world tides and far more subtly on our own bodies. It
also concerns our deeper instinctual selves. There is an overall
focus on the internal self. The phase of the Moon matters.
Nuances that each phase gives to Moon energy:


* New Moon: Concerns the subconscious and our shadow self, which
includes any and all things we are repressing or denying. The
beginning of a new cycle. Our dark, inner core where our
intuition and wisdom lies. Good for shadow work, retrieving
information lost to the conscious mind, and starting a part of
life with a clean slate.


* Waxing Moon: Generally useful for workings meant to increase,
create, or invite in the object of one’s spell. Refer to the
sign the moon is currently in for further nuance.


* Full Moon: Concerns fantasy, illusion, illumination of the
subconscious, our dreams, intuition, psychic abilities, and
emotions/passions winning out over logic. Instincts prevailing
over intellectualism. Metaphors. Good for casting glamours,
dream-work, gentle illumination of one’s subconscious (rather
than the bright, but perhaps harsh, sun), tapping into one’s
abilities, and astral travel.


* Waning Moon: Generally useful for workings meant to banish,
destroy, weaken, or decrease the object of one’s spell. Refer to
the sign the moon is currently in for further nuance.


Mercury


Mercury is a quick little planet, and thus is good for getting
things done fast. This planet is suited in workings for things
such as: outsmarting a rival, turning a situation around
quickly, opening or closing communications in any situation
(love, friendship, family, business, legal, etc), attracting
networking opportunities, and finding clever solutions to
resolve any situation you might be faced with so that you end up
on top.



Venus


Venus is famous for its association to love and beauty.
Naturally this planet is wonderful for helping with one’s level
of attractiveness to others in numerous ways. It can also
attract beautiful things to you, whether that is possessions or
people. You can also use Venus to help you become more graceful
or talented. To influence people with feminine energy towards
you, as well as to invoke feminine energy into yourself for any
purpose. To influence any relationship you have.


Mars


Mars helps us find our warrior within. This is an excellent
planet for athletes, others engaged in strenuous activities,
people in competitive fields, or anyone who strives for
excellence through skill and physical exertion. Use Mars to help
you build the qualities you need to conquer your goals. Mars
helps those who help themselves.


Jupiter


Jupiter is a student’s best friend, or anyone who endeavors to
learn or better themselves in any way. Jupiter is helpful in
spells to bring us good luck, to find spiritual direction,
encourage others to be generous towards you, encourage
advancement in one’s career, and increase your ability to
understand any field of study.


Saturn


Saturn is a stern planet, and serious minded. It is a friend for
when you wish to influence an authority figure in your life, or
to increase one’s own presence of authority. It is also useful
for influencing masculine people towards you. It is also a
useful planet to work with in working through your fears and
internal obstacles to your goals, as well as staying motivated
until the end.


Uranus


Uranus is the genius. Uranus would be great to instigate sudden
and dramatic changes in any situation. Uranus can help with
encouraging rebelliousness, independent thinking, and freedom.
Need help with some creative inspiration? Uranus can inspire you
with unconventional and truly innovative ideas.


Neptune


Neptune stays in each sign for about 14 years at a time, so this
could be an opportunity for long workings utilizing it’s
qualities. Here you can heal self- destructive behaviors, and
assist in encouraging qualities of grace, compassion, patience,
and spirituality. Use Neptune to change your perceptions of a
situation, or to influence the perspective of others. It is also
useful to encourage musical and creative gifts.


Pluto


Pluto has a slow and irregular orbit, and can be in a sign from
12 to 22 years roughly, consult resources tracking its predicted
movements if you plan on working with this planet. Also, a good
planet for long spell work. Pluto brings an intense and
transformative energy to all spellwork. It can give us the
powerful energies of death followed by resurrection, renewal,
and rebirth. It can help us transcend adversity and find our own
freedom. Pluto is good for gaining control of a situation,
gaining control of your life, and turning yourself around.


Character Readings

The Sun Signs of the Zodiac can all be used to learn something
about a person. When learning magic this is a very important
practice to understand. Everyone's astrological chart is
different but there are a few basic traits for each sign that
are easy to learn. More importantly the dates for the Sun Signs
are listed and should be learned..

Aries
March 21 to April 19

Aries have a lot of energy, but can become reckless at times.
They don't like being criticized. Aries are usually warm and
friendly, but they have a bit of a temper. Aries are courageous
and take the initiative, even when no one else believes in them.
This quality makes them good leaders.

Taurus
April 20 to May 20

Taurus are patient and reliable, but can also be stubborn. No
matter what blocks are in their way, they will find a way around
them. They are very loving people, and have a great sense of
fun. Sometimes they can be too focused on the material world,
but they have good taste.

Gemini
May 21 to Jun 21

Gemini are able to do many things at once, and are interested in
many different subjects. It is difficult for them to finish
everything they start, and it is hard to really get to know them.
Once they decide what they want to do, Gemini can be very
successful at whatever it is. They just need to balance all of
their nervous energy.

Cancer
Jun 22 to July 22

Cancers get along with almost everyone, and they hate feeling
lonely. They often get depressed when they're not around people
who they care about. Cancer have a hard time letting go of the
past, and need to be careful about holding grudges. They are
romantic and emotional, even to a fault.

Leo
July 23 to Aug 22

Leos are good at making friends and like just about everyone.
They like leadership positions, and won't settle for something
they don't want to do. Leos have a hard time understanding why
people don't always appreciate them. They are generous, and can
let people take advantage of them.

Virgo
Aug 23 to Sep 22

Virgos are a humble people, and are very down to earth. People
sometimes think they can be too critical when you are just being
cautious. Their friends know they can depend on them when they
are in trouble, and that is one of Virgos best qualities. Virgos
are modest, but know how to fit in with what's popular. They
generally conform well to whatever situation they are in.

Libra
Sept 23 to Oct 22

Libras tend to be charming and attractive. They get along well
with almost anyone, and don't care about what is most popular.
They find it hard to finalize their plans, and have trouble
committing to anything. Libras are romantic, but need everything
to be perfect. They are also rather unpredictable.

Scorpio
Oct 23 to Nov 21

Scorpios don't stop something they start until it's finished.
They are competitive by nature, and when they lose their temper
everyone knows about it. Scorpios are sensitive, and fall in
love too easily. But they are independent and determined.
Scorpios can be impatient, but they never give up on anything.
They are very clever, and are good at understanding how other
people think.

Sagittarius
Nov 22 to Dec 21

Sagittarius are optimistic. They have a wonderful sense of
humor, but can also be too outspoken. Sagittarius are easy to
get along with and make great friends. They don't like being
tied down, and don't do well stuck in one place for any length
of time. Sometimes they can make decisions before thinking
them all the way through.

Capricorn
Dec 22 to Jan 19

Capricorns need things to be perfect, and aren't happy when life
doesn't go as planned. They are independent, and only listen to
people that they look up to. Capricorns are also practical, but
tend to focus on the future. They are good with finances, and do
well in business.

Aquarius
Jan 20 to Feb 18

Aquarius are open minded and don't pass judgment on anyone. They
care very much about people but find it hard to express it. Its
difficult to get to know an Aquarius, but when they make a friend
its forever. Aquarius are always looking ahead, and quickly adapt
when situations change around them.

Pisces
Feb 19 to Mar 20

Pisces find it hard to make up their mind about things, but they
are always considerate of others. They are imaginative and can
become too busy daydreaming. Pisces tend to be intuitive and are
the most mystical of all the Sun Signs.

Numerology

Numerology deals with the numbers one through ten. All the
digits in a number are added together to get one sum. This
is repeated until you get to a number between 1 and 10. Each
number also represents one of the 10 planets in the solar
system (Counting the Sun). Here is a summary of what the
numbers themselves mean:

One / Sun

One is a fresh start for you. You will be entering a whole
new cycle, filled with optimism and energy. You could
literally start anything, and it will become a success. The
only problem will be managing all of this energy with all of
the things you want to be doing. There are going to be many
changes that relate to your job or personal life, but you
will be ready for them.

Two / Mercury

All of the high energy will finally be calming down. So the
future has the potential to be very easy going. Patience will
be important. Racing at high speeds to get things done will
not be necessary. You need to be more careful and take your
time. If you can't do this you will find yourself getting
stressed out.

Three / Venus

I see you are going to be busy having lots of fun and putting
work on the back burner. You will still have to manage your
time, but you will be focusing on what you want to do rather
than what you have to do. It is a great time to meet people
and make new friends. Try and find like-minded people who
share your interests.

Four / Earth

To be successful will require a lot of work on your part. You
are going to be under pressure to get things done, and it will
take time to complete your goals. If you don't plan ahead you
could get into trouble. This year is going to challenge you,
so don't give up.

Five / Mars

There are quite a few surprises waiting for you, and you are
ready for them. You have some surprises for the rest of us too.
You are going to find lots of excitement, and it's a good time
to stop holding back. So do all kinds of new and different
things, and stop putting off what you have been planning.

Six / Jupiter

If your relationships are going well they are just going to get
closer. If they have been stressful, then you are going to find
new beginning. It is important to be understanding of the needs
of others, even when you feel that you may not be able to help
them.

Seven / Saturn

You could use some time to yourself. It would be wise to learn
about whatever interests you. The number seven will bring insight
into your life and the world you live in. It isn't the best time
for making money, but is a good time for making plans.

Eight / Uranus

This is the best time to start making financial goals. You are
going to see money coming back in again, but it will require
some work on your part. Don't work too hard and you will have
some time for yourself.

Nine / Neptune

Quit thinking about the past, and start making plans for the
future. This will be difficult for you because there are so
many things you want to do. However, once you decide on what you
want, you will know exactly how to get it. It just won't happen
immediately.

Ten / Pluto

You're entering a new stage of life where you are more
independent. Keep your eyes open for new potential as you work
towards your goals. Your determination to succeed is going to be
your greatest asset.

With the chant of seven. Blessings fall to me from Heaven.

With the chant of eight. I create my own fate.

With the chant of nine. I will make it become mine.

With the chant of ten. I cast this spell once again.

The following spells are examples, all of which are based on
years of experience in casting and getting results. As with all
magick exercise due diligence in considering your intention and
how all of the items you are using and energies you are calling
upon are going to realistically affect that. The key to getting
a spell to work is remembering that ultimately magick is about
who has the strongest will. If your will is the strongest, then
your will will be manifested. If you are casting anything to do
with other people in anyway or affecting the world you are
contending against the will of all of those people and against
the flow of the circumstances as they are currently progressing.
Obviously, the more in line with the current flow your working
is, the easier it will be to manifest.


Magick moves in the path of least resistance. Spells occur in
accordance with the flow of the universe rather than suddenly
altering the natural order of space and time. You have to trust
the universe to help you. Magic is not instantaneous, and so it
can sometimes feel as if nothing is happening. The lack of
instantaneous results doesn't mean the magick has failed. Your
spells will manifest if you believe in them, but if you are not
clear what you want, they can come about in unexpected ways.


Our minds control our reality, but there are limits to what we
are able to do with our minds. We can't levitate or walk on
water because our unconscious beliefs won't allow this to
happen. It is like trying to hold your breath until you pass out
or stop your own heartbeat. Religions are built around people
who have been able to work such wonders, but that is outside the
scope of this book.


To practice astrological magick you don’t need to worship
anything. Instead, work to advance yourself spiritually on the
road to enlightenment. When you move into alignment with the
forces of the universe, you are able to create your own destiny.
Sometimes this will be miraculous and sometimes you need to be
patient. The universe will always provide a sign telling you
what to do next.

These spells can be turned on by tarot cards if you arrange
them into intentional spreads. The following are correspondences
for the major arcana of the tarot, and the signs and planets of
astrology. If you don't want to use tarot you could label
candles for astrological purposes.

Two cards are paired together for each of the signs and
planets.

Sun / Strength

Sun: The Sun card naturally corresponds with the Sun, the source
of energy and enlightenment.

Leo: The Strength card is the master of gentle force and control,
is assigned to Leo, the sign of lionesque courage and heart.

Moon / Chariot

Moon: The Moon rules the night and is represented by the Moon
card.

Cancer: The Chariot card is assigned to Cancer, the sign of
motherhood, home, and family life. Cancer’s crab carries his
home on his back. -

Magician / Lovers

Mercury: The Magician card is assigned to Mercury, the planet
of speed and communication. You’ll often see him pointing
heavenward, conveying messages from the heavens above to the
Earth below.

Gemini: The Lovers, who think and speak as one, are assigned to
Gemini, the sign of thought and communication. The Lovers
themselves are twin souls, with thei rarms and hearts entwined.

Empress / Hierophant

Venus: The Empress card, wife and mother, is assigned to Venus,
the planet of love and attraction. You can find the astrological
glyph for Venus in many renditions ofthe card.

Taurus: The Hierophant card is the keeper of tradition, and is
assigned to Taurus, the sign of stability, luxury, and pleasure.
Some Hierophant cards feature Taurus glyphs and symbolism.

Tower / Emperor

Mars: The Tower, perpetually guarded and under attack, is assigned
to Mars, the planet of energy, war, aggression, and assertiveness.
The astrological glyph associated with Mars is a shield and a
spear.

Aries: The Emperor card is assigned to Aries, the sign of
leadership.

Wheel of Fortune / Temperance

Jupiter: The Wheel of Fortune is assigned to Jupiter, the
expansive planet of luck and burgeoning growth.

Sagittarius: Temperance, who straddles a divide between two
worlds, is assigned to Sagittarius, the sign of long-distance
travel, philosophy, and higher education.

World / Devil

Saturn: The World card is assigned to Saturn, the ringed planet
of boundaries, limitations, restrictions, and structure

Capricorn: The Devil, the embodiment of physical and material
temptation, is assigned to Capricorn, the sign of business,
career success, and worldly status. The mountain-climbing goat
associated with the sign bears a striking resemblance to some
depictions of the Devil himself.

Fool / Star

Uranus: The Fool, who doesn’t care what society thinks, is
assigned to Uranus, the planet of rebellion and revolution.

Aquarius: The Star, a glimmering light of hope and inspiration,
is assigned to Aquarius, the airy sign of social groups and
futuristic thinking.

Hanged Man / High Priestess

Neptune: The Hanged Man, suspended in an alternate reality, is
assigned to Neptune, the planet of mysticism and illusion. The
glyph, King Neptune’s trident, symbolizes a watery world that
exists alongside our own earthly reality.

Pisces: The High Priestess card is the archetypal psychic, and
is assigned to Pisces, the sign of the mystical and the
subconscious.

Judgement / Death

Pluto: The Judgment card is assigned to Pluto, the planet of
death, resurrection, and unavoidable change.

Scorpio: The Death card is assigned to Scorpio, the sign of sex,
death, transformation, and other people’s money. The scorpion
associated withthe sign has a deadly sting.

Magician / Hermit

Mercury: The Magician card is assigned to Mercury, the planet of
speed and communication. You’ll often see him pointing heavenward,
conveying messages from the heavens above to the Earth below.
Virgo: The Hermit, the quiet leader, is assigned to Virgo, the
sign of responsibility and dedicated service to others.

Empress / Justice

Venus: The Empress card is assigned to Venus, the planet of love
andattraction. You can find the astrological glyph for Venus in
many renditions of the card.

Libra: The Justice card represents the model of fairness and
equanimity. It is assigned to Libra, the sign of equality and
social grace. Libra is usually represented by a balanced set of
scales.

There are twelve gates in astrological magick The gates work
through the planets and signs of astrology. Depending on your
sun sign you will have a connection automatically to one of
the gates. For example if you were a Leo, you would have a
natural connection to the Power and Gate of Predicting. Each
Power also connects to one of the Spheres in the Tree of Life.
Generally, the Gates are learned in order.

01. Predicting - Wisdom / ESP
Realization - All knowledge is inside us.
Sign: Leo

Angel: Selaphiel
Prayer: Angels of the Sun. A light brighter, there is none.

Predicting is the first Gate a Wizard learns. It comes in the
form of inspiration, and insight. Answers and discoveries come
without effort. You know things that you can't possibly know.
The power of Predicting comes with the understanding of
Realization. The knowledge of Realization is that everything
you could ever want to know is already inside you.

02. Feeling - Empathy / Telepathy
Association - A link exists between all things.
Sign: Cancer
Planet: Moon
Sephirot: Yesod
Choir: Saints
Angel: Jeremiel
Prayer: Angels of the Moon. I ask my prayers come real soon.

Feeling is the second Gate a wizard can learn. This is a power
often had by Saints. Feeling allows you to empathize and
understand another person and where they are coming from. It
allows you to see inside another person and communicate without
saying a word. This power comes from the understanding of
Association. Association is the knowledge that a link exists
between all living things.

03. Producing - Attraction / Creation
Synchronicity - Everything is related.
Sign: Gemini
Planet: Mercury
Sephirot: Hod
Choir: Angels
Angel: Barachiel
Prayer: Angels of Mercury, in the sky. Give me wings so I may fly.

Producing is the third Gate. It allows a Wizard to attract
situations and desires. This power comes from the understanding of
Synchronicity, which tells us that everything is related. The power
exists inside you to attract anything into your life.

04. Influencing - Charisma / Hypnotism
Possession - Will can control the mind.
Sign: Taurus
Planet: Venus
Sephirot: Netzach
Choir: Archangels
Angel: Gabriel
Prayer: Angels of Venus. Let your light reach between us.

The fourth Gate is called Influencing. Using this power a Wizard
can charm another person. The knowledge associated with this power
is called Possession. This power will cause people to see the
Wizard in a positive light, or allow the wizard to hypnotize and
control them. The power of Possession comes from the knowledge
that your will can control another mind.

05. Penetrating - Escape / Intangibility
Spiritualism - The world is made from spirit
Sign: Virgo
Planet: Earth
Sephirot: Malkuth
Choir: Principalities
Angel: Zadkiel
Prayer: Angels of the Earth. To all life you give birth.

The fifth Gate is known as Penetrating. It comes from the
knowledge of Spiritualism. Spiritualism is the understanding
that the world is made from spirit. This allows Wizards to
become completely intangible, and for chains and locks to
become so loose that they fall apart.

06. Controlling - Energy / Telekinesis
Evocation - Spirit is made from forces.
Sign: Aries
Planet: Mars
Sephirot: Geburah
Choir: Virtues
Angel: Jophiel
Prayer: Angel's of Mars, I cast this spell into the stars.

The sixth Gate is called Controlling. This allows a wizard
to summon greater force around themselves. They are able
to lift and move things that they should not be able to.
The knowledge of this gate is called Evocation. It is the
understanding that spirits are forces and can they can
effect the world the same as the living.

07. Restoring - Renewal / Healing
Forgiveness - Suffering is caused by sin.
Sign: Sagittarius
Planet: Jupiter
Sephirot: Chesed
Choir: Powers
Angel: Michael
Prayer: I beg the Angels of Jupiter. Make me healthy and make
me pure.

The seventh Gate is called Restoring. Restoring will allow a
person to be without pain and heal them from disease and
illness. It comes from the understanding of Forgiveness. The
knowledge of Forgiveness is that all suffering is caused by
Sin. And can therefore be relieved.

08. Vanishing - Stealth / Invisibility
Misdirection - Attention can be controlled.
Sign: Capricorn
Planet: Saturn
Sephirot: Binah
Choir: Dominions
Angel: Ariel
Prayer: Angels of Saturn, reveal the great pattern.

The eighth Gate is known as Vanishing. It comes from the
knowledge of Misdirection. Misdirection is the ability to
control where attention is focused. This is quite useful for
keeping secrets or hiding something from another person. With
careful study, it is possible to become completely invisible.

09. Traveling - Direction / Teleportation
Unity - All separation is an illusion.
Sign: Aquarius
Planet: Uranus
Sephirot: Tiferet
Choir: Thrones
Angel: Raphael
Prayer: Angel's of Uranus. Without your light, the night is nameless

The ninth Gate is called Traveling. It works under the knowledge that
all separation is an illusion. With this power, you can find your way
without directions or locate something that is lost. A powerful Wizard
can in fact step from one location to anywhere else they desire.

10. Transforming - Developing / Shapeshifting
Personification - We create ourselves.
Sign: Pisces
Planet: Neptune
Sephirot: Keter
Choir: Cherubim
Angel: Raziel
Prayer: I ask the Angel's of Neptune, to bring this life back in tune.

The 10th Gate is called Transforming. Transformation involves taking on
the personification of something else, which could be an abstract
concept, an animal, or even a God. The Knowledge of personification
means that you create yourself. No one else can tell you who you are.

11. Destruction- Curse / Destroy
Pragmatism - Right & wrong do not exist.
Sign: Scorpio
Planet: Pluto
Sephirot: Daath
Choir: Seraphim
Angel: Uriel
Prayer: Dark angel of Pluto, spare me from the grave below.

The 11th Gate is Destruction. This power should almost never be used.
The use of it draws people away from their path, and eventually they
can't see the difference between right and wrong at all.

12. Revelation - Visions / Rapture
Above as Below. - Gods & Angels need us.
Sign: Libra
Planet: Mily Way
Sephirot: Ein Sof
Choir: God
Angel: Elohim
Prayer: Spirit of the Milky Way, take me where the angels stay.

The 12th Gate is known as Revelation. This is the power wizards
use to communicate with spirits, gods or angels. A powerful
Wizard can step into spiritual realms and are sometimes never
heard from again.


The Orphic Hymns

The Ancient Greeks knew of seven planets that we use today:
Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Earth, Sun, and the Moon.

However, as we discovered more planets we named them after
the Greek gods. The Greeks had many poems, and songs that
they used for spells and prayers to the same Gods we now see in
the Sky.

There is a great book of ancient spells called the Orphic Hymns.
Various translations are available for free but I would still
recommend this book:

"The Orphic Hymns: A New Translation for the Occult Practitioner"
by Patrick Dunn

I have listed twelve of the Orphic Hymns from a online translation.
These 12 Hymns correspond to astrology, and the planets. The
coolest part about this relic is that they still rhyme in English....


(1) TO THE EARTH [GAIA]

The Fumigation from every kind of Seed, except Beans and Aromatics.
O Goddess, Earth, of Gods and men the source, endu'd with fertile, all
destroying force;

All-parent, bounding, whose prolific pow'rs, produce a store of beauteous
fruits and flow'rs,

All-various maid, th' eternal world's strong base immortal, blessed,
crown'd with ev'ry grace;

From whose wide womb, as from an endless root, fruits, many-form'd,
mature and grateful shoot.

Deep bosom'd, blessed, pleas'd with grassy plains, sweet to the smell, and

With rapid whirl, eternal and divine, whose frames with matchless skill

(2) TO THE SUN [HELIOS]

The Fumigation from Frankinsence and Manna.

Hear golden Titan, whose eternal eye with broad survey, illumines all the
sky.

Self-born, unwearied in diffusing light, and to all eyes the mirrour of
delight:

Lord of the seasons, with thy fiery car and leaping coursers, beaming
light from far:

With thy right hand the source of morning light, and with thy left the
father of the night.

Agile and vig'rous, venerable Sun, fiery and bright around the heav'ns you
run.

Foe to the wicked, but the good man's guide, o'er all his steps propitious
you preside:

With various founding, golden lyre, 'tis mine to fill the world with
harmony divine.

Father of ages, guide of prosp'rous deeds, the world's commander, borne by
lucid steeds,

Immortal Jove [Zeus], all-searching, bearing light, source of existence,
pure and fiery bright

Bearer of fruit, almighty lord of years, agil and warm, whom ev'ry pow'r
reveres.

Great eye of Nature and the starry skies, doom'd with immortal flames to
set and rise

Dispensing justice, lover of the stream, the world's great despot, and
o'er all supreme.

Faithful defender, and the eye of right, of steeds the ruler, and of life
the light:

With founding whip four fiery steeds you guide, when in the car of day you
glorious ride.

Propitious on these mystic labours shine, and bless thy suppliants with a

(3) TO THE MOON [SELENE]

The Fumigation from Aromatics.

Hear, Goddess queen, diffusing silver light, bull-horn'd and wand'ring
thro' the gloom of Night.

With stars surrounded, and with circuit wide Night's torch extending,
thro' the heav'ns you ride:

Female and Male with borrow'd rays you shine, and now full-orb'd, now
tending to decline.

Mother of ages, fruit-producing Moon [Mene], whose amber orb makes Night's
reflected noon:

Lover of horses, splendid, queen of Night, all-seeing pow'r bedeck'd with
starry light.

Lover of vigilance, the foe of strife, in peace rejoicing, and a prudent
life:

Fair lamp of Night, its ornament and friend, who giv'st to Nature's works
their destin'd end.

Queen of the stars, all-wife Diana hail! Deck'd with a graceful robe and
shining veil;

Come, blessed Goddess, prudent, starry, bright, come moony-lamp with
chaste and splendid light,

Shine on these sacred rites with prosp'rous rays, and pleas'd accept thy
suppliant's mystic praise.


(4) TO MERCURY [HERMES]

The Fumigation from Frankincense.

Hermes, draw near, and to my pray'r incline, angel of Jove [Zeus], and
Maia's son divine;

Studious of contests, ruler of mankind, with heart almighty, and a prudent
mind.

Celestial messenger, of various skill, whose pow'rful arts could watchful
Argus kill:

With winged feet, 'tis thine thro' air to course, O friend of man, and
prophet of discourse:

Great life-supporter, to rejoice is thine, in arts gymnastic, and in fraud
divine:

With pow'r endu'd all language to explain, of care the loos'ner, and the
source of gain.

Whose hand contains of blameless peace the rod, Corucian, blessed,
profitable God;

Of various speech, whose aid in works we find, and in necessities to
mortals kind:

Dire weapon of the tongue, which men revere, be present, Hermes, and thy
suppliant hear;

(5) TO VENUS [APHRODITE]

A Hymn.

Heav'nly [Ourania], illustrious, laughter-loving queen, sea-born,
night-loving, of an awful mien;

all-connecting dame:

Thee, human blood, and swords, and spears delight, and the dire ruin of
mad savage fight.

Stay, furious contests, and avenging strife, whose works with woe,
embitter human life;

To lovely Venus [Kypris], and to Bacchus [Lyaios] yield, to Ceres [Deo]
give the weapons of the field;

Encourage peace, to gentle works inclin'd, and give abundance, with

O Jove much-honor'd, Jove [Zeus] supremely great, to thee our holy rites
we consecrate,

Our pray'rs and expiations, king divine, for all things round thy head
exalted shine.

The earth is thine, and mountains swelling high, the sea profound, and all
within the sky.

Saturnian [Kronion] king, descending from above, magnanimous, commanding,
sceptred Jove [Zeus];

All-parent, principle and end of all, whose pow'r almighty, shakes this
earthly ball;

Ev'n Nature trembles at thy mighty nod, loud-sounding, arm'd with
light'ning, thund'ring God.

Source of abundance, purifying king, O various-form'd from whom all
natures spring;

Propitious hear my pray'r, give blameless health, with peace divine, and
necessary wealth.


(8) TO SATURN [KRONOS]

The Fumigation from Storax.

Etherial father, mighty Titan, hear, great fire of Gods and men, whom all
revere:

Endu'd with various council, pure and strong, to whom perfection and
decrease belong.

Consum'd by thee all forms that hourly die, by thee restor'd, their former
place supply;

The world immense in everlasting chains, strong and ineffable thy pow'r
contains

Father of vast eternity, divine, O mighty Saturn [Kronos], various speech
is thine:

Blossom of earth and of the starry skies, husband of Rhea, and Prometheus
wife.

Obstetric Nature, venerable root, from which the various forms of being
shoot;

No parts peculiar can thy pow'r enclose, diffus'd thro' all, from which
the world arose,

O, best of beings, of a subtle mind, propitious hear to holy pray'rs

from whom the world arose:

earthly ball;

Abode of Gods, whose guardian pow'r surrounds th' eternal World with ever
during bounds;

Whose ample bosom and encircling folds the dire necessity of nature holds.

Ætherial, earthly, whose all-various frame azure and full of forms, no
power can tame.

All-seeing Heav'n, progenitor of Time [Kronos], forever blessed, deity
sublime,

Propitious on a novel mystic shine, and crown his wishes with a life
divine.


(10) TO NEPTUNE [POSEIDON]

The Fumigation from Myrrh

Hear, Neptune [Poseidon], ruler of the sea profound, whose liquid grasp
begirts the solid ground;

Who, at the bottom of the stormy main, dark and deep-bosom'd, hold'st thy
wat'ry reign;

Thy awful hand the brazen trident bears, and ocean's utmost bound, thy
will reveres:

Thee I invoke, whose steeds the foam divide, from whose dark locks the
briny waters glide;

Whose voice loud founding thro' the roaring deep, drives all its billows,
in a raging heap;

When fiercely riding thro' the boiling sea, thy hoarse command the
trembling waves obey.

Earth shaking, dark-hair'd God, the liquid plains (the third division)
Fate to thee ordains,

'Tis thine, cærulian dæmon, to survey well pleas'd the monsters of the
ocean play,

Confirm earth's basis, and with prosp'rous gales waft ships along, and
swell the spacious sails;

Add gentle Peace, and fair-hair'd Health beside, and pour abundance in a

Pluto, magnanimous, whose realms profound are fix'd beneath the firm and
solid ground,

In the Tartarian plains remote from fight, and wrapt forever in the depths

Terrestrial Jove [Zeus Khthonios], thy sacred ear incline, and, pleas'd,
accept thy mystic's hymn divine.

Earth's keys to thee, illustrious king belong, its secret gates unlocking,
deep and strong.

'Tis thine, abundant annual fruits to bear, for needy mortals are thy
constant care.

To thee, great king, Avernus is assign'd, the seat of Gods, and basis of
mankind.

Thy throne is fix'd in Hade's dismal plains, distant, unknown to rest,
where darkness reigns;

Where, destitute of breath, pale spectres dwell, in endless, dire,
inexorable hell;

Refulgent rays around the heav'ns ye throw, eternal fires, the source of
all below.

With flames significant of Fate ye shine, and aptly rule for men a path
divine.

In seven bright zones ye run with wand'ring flames, and heaven and earth
compose your lucid frames:

With course unwearied, pure and fiery bright forever shining thro' the
veil of Night.

Hail twinkling, joyful, ever wakeful fires! Propitious shine on all my

These sacred rites regard with conscious rays, and end our works devoted
to your praise.

I also study the relationship of numbers themselves and how
they connect with language. Does the word "One" mean anything
different than the integer "1"? I wrote a program that assigned
every letter a unique number, so that the letters added
together in the word for any integer total up to the value of
that same number. It wouldn't be hard to do this and assign the
numbers to add up to a different than expected value:

I use this code to memorize things. Each symbol is a kind
of memory “box” that I use to keep things I don't want to
forget. This is a system for doing psychic readings with these
boxes using word for word reading:
