=A0=A0Effect: There is a small plane on a concrete covering, the
spectators surround it; they take hands and form the circle around the
plane. The plane is surrounded by screens; when they are lifted and the
light is lit behind, we see its shadow on the front screens, and
shadows
of the spectators. A bit later screens go down, and everyone can see,
that the plane has gone, and the spectators are still standing around,
holding hands.
=A0=A0Secret: In this trick there are a lot of secrets, therefore be
attentive and in a couple of minutes you'll find out, how David
Copperfield has made the plane "disappear". p1 p2
On the first picture you see, what happens in the beginning of trick:
the plane stands on the concrete platform, surrounded by the
spectators,
we see one side of it. Then the screens are closed, and we see only a
shadow of the plane and the spectators' shadow. Actually, we see a
projection of the plane (just a picture with its contour), and only the
shadow of the closest to us part of the spectators. And at the time,
when David diligently locks the screens, the following happens. The far
away part of the spectators is formed of false people; as soon as the
plane has disappeared, they rushed to the sides; the back screens were
removed, as shown on a pic.2, and the plane has been pulled (with a
help
of a tractor or simply by a cable) back. David has provided, that the
spectators, having seen this trick, would be able to assume such
variant, and consequently we can only see one side of the plane. Who
would think, that it could move in such position? It's no big deal to
drag the plane by a side. There are many different ways to do it: from
turning chassis, up to special substrates under the chassis. Everything
was thought of up to the smallest details, and during the show all
members of Copperfield's team have worked within seconds.

its like going down a tunnel chute idea the plate form closes up so

set up the viideo camera on tri pod =A0 right next to the dj computer
crew guy =A0 and as dc is showing info on arm and photo extc. =A0 the
guy with video camera is feeding this info back stage =A0 then once hes
done this he goes out with video camera =A0 quietly =A0 out the back
doors =A0 its the same doors we folks cam in to watch his illusion show
at chrysler hall in norfolk virginia.
any ways =A0 i saw in the video camera screen =A0 a thing that looks
like a zip drive idea

I watched it many times on video, twice live, but I was far from the
stage. The third time it happened just above my head. I thought I know
all the disappearance methods. I've figured out the video teleportation
part, it is a clever method and makes a lot of sense, and explains how
he appears in the middle of the audience so fast. But the disapperance
part... ugghh...Somebody please help me via email, what is the method

Effect : David Copperfield makes the statue of liberty disappear.
Secret
The audience can see the statue of liberty through the pillars. The
curtain then comes up to block the audiences view. The live audience is
on a secret swiveling platform that rotated slowly to the side of the
statue. The statue of liberty lights are turned off, the blip on the
radar is part of a video animation.
The curtain is then lowered, the audience and the viewers watching on
T.V see that the statue has disappeared but all they are looking at is
a
duplicate set of lights that is situated right next to the real statue
of liberty. The lights on the two towers towers are there to night
blind
the audience for a few minutes to make it hard too see the statue of
liberty.
The curtain is then raised up the audience is rotated round again to
face the statue of liberty the curtain is dropped and the statue has
reappeared.

lear jet DC hauled out the back with a lighting system and a
prerecorded shaow of the ear jet by a shaodow projector and the back
spectaters are part of the act even though they are holdings hands
in a circle blindfolded they let go and help push the 7ton lear
jet out the back area plus the loud orcastra music drowns out the
movment and plus cover the lear jet with stage scrim netting
black art concept :) that dead black against dead black is absent of
shadow with purple light called black light blue and
red infilmnts in light bulbs. so any thing that is neon bright
colored stand out and any thing that dark is invisible with the right
lighting they had to reahears it in sections the lighting
was right the weather conditions on nor way air part was finley
right on the irst practice run weatherconditions messes it up
so DC AND HIS CREW HAD TO REVAMP the orignal idea ps.

Effect : David Copperfield walks through the great wall of china When
David Copperfield goes inside the first box there was a switch made,
copperfield goes under the box and goes into the hollow stairs he then
gets carried away inside the hollow stairs. A lookalike in shadow form
pretends to walk through the first part of the wall, after he plays his
part he gets inside the hollow base platform. By that time the
assistance's pull the sheets away to show that he walked through the
first part of the wall.
The stairs that copperfield is in is behind the camera boom as it makes
a complete rotation over the wall. The assistants on the other side of
the wall take the same stairs and put it next to the other plate form.
The assistants climb the special stairs and hold up a small white sheet
of cloth. It looks like David Copperfield is pushing his and and face
through the cloth. The secret behind this action is that the person on
the right is just controlling a pair of fake hands which he controls
with his right-hand. The person on the left is just pushing a fake face
through the cloth with his left-hand.
The two assistants then drop the small sheet cloth and listen to the
wall to see if David is all right. They then slowly roll down the
sheets
to cover the frame box up and make sure it is tucked in good, they go
down the stairs to wait for copperfield to make his way through the
second part of the wall.
All he has to do now is get out of the hollow stairs and inside the box
and watch his angles with the light. He then comes closer to the light
so it looks like he is coming through the second part of the wall. He
pulls the sheets away to reveal himself, the white cloth stays on the
floor because it contains the props.

Errr, if you got it in email it means you probably want a filter to keep
it from happening again. Appealing to Bill Page OR webtv doesn't seem to
help much so while it might feel good to report him, it's easier to make
sure you never see it.
