Dreamweaver 8 Test Site Updating Not Taking

Hello:
I using Dreamweaver 8. I have never used it before, and I am
running into some trouble with test site updating not taking.
I am very much still at the point of trying get things straight
in the HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, and ASP cauldron that I have to
deal with. Consequently, I will often make a minor change to code,
and then wish to test it.
My problem is that sometimes the updating of the test site does
not take. I still have the code, but somehow, the updating of the
test site does not occur.
If I close and restart Dreamweaver, the problem goes away for a
while. I do not know what triggers the problem.
I might have my configuration set wrong, but I did check it with
someone who uses Dreamweaver, and we found nothing out of line.
I am using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421.
