Ruth: So this is the ship they say is unsinkable.
Cal: It is unsinkable. God himself couldn’t sink this ship.

I'm going to go play in some other part of the sand-box. You won't
have Kolaga to kick around anymore. No, I'm through with everything
here. I want peace. I want to see if somewhere there isn't something
left in life of charm and grace. Do you know what I'm talking about?
It's all a sneaky re-telling of the Tower of Babel story in
which human ambition and pride must be punished. As for the
iceberg, who else would have put it there?
But Cal was right: God didn't sink the ship; people who
imagined they were invincible used their own talent for
stupidy to sink the ship. (I mean, it's not as if anyone
thinks God manufactured a miraculous iceberg in its path,
surely?)

So your god likes 1500 people to die?? No wonder I am an atheist.

Don't let what other people say affect your belief in God. I would
beleive that the sky is blue even if some people had deranged views of a
blue sky ment. I look at the sky I see blue, I look for God I see God.
If you don't want to believe in God that's your choice, but don't make
you descision based upon what some guy said about a movie in a
newsgroup. You'd be cheating yourself out of something really cool.
Anayway, people (millions) have said worse things about God and gone
unpunished- It really doesn't work that way.
-Bosco
What on earth are you talking about? The Titanic disaster would fit
right in with the general tenor of the Old Testament, and not just the
tower of Babel story. If my beliefs are nowhere near the christian norm,
that comes
from reading the bible, and not from listening to lunatic fundamentalists
(or
is that the other way around? No, a fundamentalist lunatic is a true and
fanatic believer in the Lunatic creed - and Jeff Creed too. Anyone
believing in Jeff Creed is probably an acceptable Lunatic, too.
I do believe God (address withheld by request) has a weird sense of humor,
but if we're truly created in His image, that's not surprising.

Never have. If I had, I would have to equate god with Cthulhu.

Does this work when you can't find your car keys? When I look for my keys, I
don't always see my keys.

Most beliefs are based on far less.

That's encouraging. Have you seen my keys yet?
Kolaga,
Some readers new to this newsgroup might mistakenly believe you have
found religion with your suggestion that God sank the Titanic. You
might want to quickly set the record straight before this thread turns
into another "You Atheists are Clueless" discussion. OTOH, if the
Titanic has helped you find God, Kolaga, then that boat did not sink in
vain -- welcome aboard, my son.

How to find the fundamentalists that are destroying the entire faith
tradition to which I belong (Christianity) and piss on one of them.
Thank you, have a good day.

But you can't fight piss with piss.
yeah, all you can do is make the bucket overflow onto everyone else's feet.
