questions:
1. is there any value in the nickel silver keys?
2. How hard is it to get rid of nickel plated brass?
3. any ideas on the value of yellow brass today?
TIA
The nickel plate is no problem, and the nickel silver keys are actually
worth more than the yellow brass.
The best yield will be if you take the time to remove all of the steel rings
and separate the nickel silver from the yellow brass, and strip any rubber
head from the keys.

If you are not part of the solution, you are not dissolved in the solvent.
You could try and sell them to a bump key manufacturer.
he said they were "cut keys"....

The first post says a combination of blank and cut keys...
Reply:
yep, my bad.
lot of difference in a "ton of blanks"
and "several hundred pounds of cut keys"
still believe the best bet would be to scrap all...

Unless I misunderstand, a bump key is made out of all of the deepest cuts
and ANY key can be cut down to make one.
Are you fucking retarded, or just a brain damaged locksmith?

If the keys are scrapped they can't possibly end up in the hands of your
competition, possibly a more qualified technician and businessperson.
