I am having trouble removing the old Medeco single cylinder lock. I have
removed the screws on the plate surrounding the deadbolt. It doesn't have
any screws on the face plate. The turn-lever has a hole drilled into the end
of it.
Does anyone know how to get this lock out of the door?
Thanks
Bob

There's an allen setscrew in there. Loosen it, remove the inside thumb
turn. Then you can remove the cover that reveals the mounting screws.
Some models have a metal snap ring around the edge of the decorative cover
where it sits inside of the inner lock housing. A pair of small screwdrivers
or paper clips can be used to remove this.

Yes, that is the concealment used for
the double-cylinder version. He will have to install the ring and plate if he
switches to a double.
