I work for a company with an old safe located in the development
room. It was abandonded by the last company before ours. I'm looking
for some documentation about it, like where to find the serial number
and how the thing works (e.g., how many turns left-right-left, etc.).
If anyone can point me in the direction of some I'd greatly appreciate
it.

3 turns right to the 2nd number
2 turns left to the third number
right to stop or right to last number and turn handle
If that does not work, try the same thing but reverse the left turns for
right turns and the right turns for left.
If you do not have the combination, forget getting it by a serial number, it
aint gonna happen. Check the local phone directory for locksmiths in your
area for bids on opening.

by Clyde Lentz and Bill Kenton..
Recently, while surfing the web, I found a pdf file with the same

In all fairness he didn't say anything about drilling it open and
manipulating it doesn't require any of the tools you mention, only skill,
and a lock that will cooperate. If you want to learn manipulation on old
direct entry design is not a bad place to start.

You can find copy's of that book for a lot less than $212. If the copyright
expired, as somebody claimed it had, there are probably digital copies
floating around somewhere for free.
