Hello,
My dad has 3 wooden French doors on his house that have National
Lock 2" backset deadbolts on them. All of the locks are frozen up and bolts
rusted. We build the house 18 years ago and the doors came with the locks
installed on them. I found what I believe is the original box that the
locks came in and the model is 2410 FL 4A National Lock Hardware.

As far as I know National Lock does not make these locks any more. I can
not change the backset because the glass in the door is too close to edge.
None of my distributors can help me out. They tell me to change backset or
mortise out, use Adams Rite style lock with a solid Donjo wrap around
guard, and drill the guard for the cyl. I dont know what to do, I am
hoping some locksmith has one of these deadbolts laying around the shop.
Any Ideas or info would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

Lori, now Ilco makes the mortise cylinder cylindrical type deadbolt. It is
available in 2 3/8", 2 3/4", and yes 2" backset. This is the only reasonable
solution I can think of, and have installed them in place of the National, and
they work great.

That is the lock, the price looks a little too much, you might want to shop
around.

Thanks. I've haven't found anyone else to supply it except for one local
(SF Bay Area) store that offered to order one for $90 and 6-8 weeks, so
mr. lock is looking pretty good to me right now...

The current RETAIL price is $43.43 each. If you have a couple of days, I will
gladly sell them at that cost, approx $20 less per lock + actual priority mail
shipping. I will double check later, but I believe I have a couple of em.

Were you successful at obtaining a dead bold lock with a 2 inch set back. I have the same issue with at my brothers house. If so can you send me a link to the business you purchased the lock from? Thank you
