Well, un*x tools are usually thought in the KISS principle,
for instance the 'cat' tool is not an option of the 'rm' tool
nor is '<' a special option of '>' (though...)

don't fret, get in the front line, you most certainly already
have 'newspost' in your set, just add an archiver and a part checker
and you're free (though as you want to post some bins that's a
bit controversial plus you'll prolly need to keep with rar as
an archiver if you intend to spread your poos to the whole
almost-living world), an example (actually posted with
smaller values for the blocks):
$ rar a -v1500k YourBinz.rar YourBinz.wotever
$ par2 c -s1536000 YourBinz*rar
$ for ll in YourBinz*.[pr]ar* ; do \
newspost -c $(basename $ll).sfv \
-n alt.binaries.test \
-s 'POST: a compound test of script :'$(basename $ll) $ll ;\
done
$ rm YourBinz*[pr]ar
Of course, this is quite a rough rap and you'll like to
adapt your settings and even make up a script in your fav way ,-)

OK you don't feel you like learning shell language - fair enough, it is
not for everybody.
Let me say it does not look good. Powerpost seems to be what most
people are using and that is Windows only, but free.
http://sourceforge.net/search/?type_of_search=soft&words=powerpost
I hope you kept your system dual boot. If not try running powerpost
under WINE.
There is a GUI interface for that controls newspost called Gnewspost
(Could not find it anywere) and Knewspost which is for KDE but should
run on Gnome I suggest installing some KDE programs like Konquer so that
that resource files are there.
Install Newspost first
http://linux.softpedia.com/progDownload/Newspost-Download-39249.html
Then
http://sourceforge.net/projects/knewspost/
Good luck. I can't imagine what what I will find in
alt.binaries.assbite. ;)

That's good ;D)

That's better ,-o)

HTML posts are evil ,-{

Correct, but that's related to the fact TBird is an email agent
salted with a few Usenet abilities, keyword being "few".

Correct, that's still the best choice though it's stalling these
last years, note that the best tools in the 'not to be named desktop
sold as an OS' are quite stalling these last years as well.

Not for binary I'm afraid, but really if your postings are only of the
kind I saw in assbite group you really would be comfortable with a
small script to which you'd just have to tell the bin file location
and the Usenet group to post to (could even default to assbin)

OK, sorry for suggesting to get in the 'scripting family' but that's usually
a short steeple to find it's highly adaptive and a lot of fun when it
acts the play and ease the way. Now I also understand you'd liked to
check there was an already existing POA doing it all without a frown :-)
In case you'd keep up with the wine+newsagent idea there's also the
best news tool that works flawlessly, check Xnews (the one from xnews.newsguy)
Have fun ,-)
