Just a little info about my furry resource, sort of, page.

I hope this isn't inappropriate here, if it is don't flame me I appoligse
already.

The YifFurries list needs new members. The only requirements are that your a
fur and your, well, yiffy. I thought it would help furs to find other furs
with similar interests, and it has been pretty well recived. As of now it's
not really a small list but it represents only a small percentile of the
yiffy population. However it appears no femmes have noticed it. :o(
So please stop by and have a cup of tea as you fill out the request to be
added.

Oh yeah there are plenty of links to artists sites will sample pics too.

Well, this isn't a flame. =) But... You might be a bit misguided.

What is the purpose of the YifFurries list? Is there a Yiffy newsletter?
Membership badges? Secret handbooks? ;)

Pardon me, but what *is* the yiffy population? ;)

> However it appears no femmes have noticed it. :o(

Well, I'm a fem, so let me take a shot at it...
I looked over your page, and I was a little confused. Is it a club for
furs whose main interest is yiffing? That could be the reason why you're
not getting very many fems... There's very very little furry erotica
designed for females out there. And since I've only seen this post here
and not on AFF, you're drawing from a very select population of furs. I
noticed a lot of links to stories and art on your page, which has a
mainly fannish interest.
You may want to do a DejaNews search for the alt.fan.furry thread titled
something like "Why are there so few females in the fandom?"

And welcome to ALF. =) Not everyone's an old stick in the mud like I am.

I didn't go into much detail because I thought it was pretty well described
on my site.
But here it goes. No newsletter, no badges, and no handbooks. It's just a
list of furs who enjoy more adult, ie. yiffy, subject matter. It's not just
for those who wish to engage in ts. If you look around my site and found
some of the stuff it links to useful, entertaining, or enjoyable than you
fit the description of those on the list.

If you have ICQ it is like their user lists, except I don't require you to
use ICQ, though I do recomend it.

This was just a term I threw in, but I was refering to those who enjoying
anything yiffy (art and stories as well as ts).

See above about the club thing, but no it's not. Ok I was tired and half
awake when I posted this so I didn't think of posting it elsewhere also.
As for there being little errotica for femmes, it seems to me that the main
population is males, why I don't know, but boys will be boys and they will
write and draw what they want to read and see. Don't get me wrong I'm all
for more femmes in the fandom.

Huh. Thanks a lot. I am aware of myself, LearFox and
one other femfur who started on there. But truth be told,
it seems as though the list failed to notice us. :/
For the most part, guys were content to yiff guys and
talk about mostly male subjects and males in general.
It is just like the rest of the fandom, all (male) yiff
and no romance.

All requests I recived were added. There was one day when I had problems
with my ISP. I couldn't access the internet, some mumbo jumbo about my
credit card, oh well.
I wondered if email would bounce for that period, guess it's possible.
PLEASE resubmit your request and I encourage LearFox and the other you know,

There's always exceptions to the rules, and I for one tend to violate most
of them.
I think romance is a great thing, and I like femmes very much, yiff wise
included.
I don't believe in classifing things as femine or masculine. You can talk to
me about anything from construction to cars to cooking to (i'll admit it)
crocheting. As a matter of fact feel free to contact me, I'd love to meet
some femmes and males to.

Well, some guys do love guys and also love romance. It's just that
the Internet isn't conducive to romance the way (for an example) a
walk in the woods on a moonlit night or snuggling in front of the
fireplace is. This is why I have no interest is such things as a
yiffy fur list. I want to meet people I can spend quality time with,
and share experiences with. The Internet isn't an adequate medium for
such things in most cases as you are more likely to meet folks far
away than folks within a few hours.

Online is fine for flirting and roleplaying. I confess, I have my
share of such fun! But romance.... well, text on a screen is nothing
at all like a softly spoken word, a carress, or a gentle kiss.
Personally, when someone I only know online starts getting lovey-dovey
in a way that seems to mean they are developing real life feelings, it
sets off my alarm bells. I don't want to hurt anyone, and I sure
don't want to be hurt again.

Online, you deal with people pretty much as they wish to be perceived.
That's fine... but never forget that. I will make friends with people
online, and even meet them in real life. But falling in love, that's
not something to do online, unless you are prepared to be hurt. And
what's romance without love.

One last note... I thought I would add the following to help put your
female concerns in to some perspective. (BTW, your post has put my
concerns in to a wider perspective, as i thought any female in furry
was worshipped as a godess.) I have the opposite problem as you, as I
see a lot of guys in furry interested mainly in females. They may be
sexually active with males, but not out of choice. Get to know them,
and some of them will confide thier obessesion with females, and their
fear of rejection. Sex with other guys, for some, doesn't have the
emotional risk of sex with a woman, because it's "just sex" to them.

This is another reason I am careful. I have had plenty of experience
with both genders, but I have chosen to pursue only men now. I would
never want to fall in to a love affair with a man who's going to be
secretly longing for a girlfriend. Sounds like a sure recipe for a
broken heart for me.

As always, your milaege may vary! Take care!

Being a dragon I'll take my tithes in valuable objects.... Holiday in October
and temples must have a significant portion of sotne in their construction
(home altars should have dragons made of volcanic ash or at least a small hand
blown glass bottle of ash....)

hehehheheh... all the talk here about festive holidays and temples
for fem furs have reminded me of a picture I used to have before my
hard drive crashed. Some of you other furry old timers here may
remmember when Lance Rund had his art online... he took it down about
three years ago. Anyway... he had this YUMMY picture of a gorgeous
male anthro fox with an erection dancing around a large statue of a
penis and testicles... he's dancing up to the statue and spraying it
with his "love offering". (I think you can fill in the details...)

That's the kind of holiday _I_ would like to see celebrated! A
tasteful celebration of masculine eroticism. Damn I wish I still had
all of Lance's pics... (I lost them all!) I printed that one out with
the caption "Worship at the church of your choice this Sunday"
underneath of it. <LOL!> I lifted that motto from ads promoting
church attendance from when I was a kid.

Heheh.... I may not be a "yiffy fur", but that doesn't mean I don't
have to be celibate. It just means I am discrete about what I do, and
have taste about with whom and where.

Take care!

hmmm... this must be a new and strange use of the word "tasteful" that
I'm not familiar with...

There is a New Agey magazine published in the UK called Kindred Spirits
(published not a million miles from where I live, in fact). Website is,
IIRC: www.kindredspirits.co.uk. The most recent issue has an article about
the celebration of male sexuality.

Depends on what your tastes are! <CHUCKLE!> Afterall, the statue of
the penis and balls has it's roots in antiquity, it is called a
"Herm", after the greek god, who was the male counterpart to
Aphrodite. The Herm was used as a symbol of male fertility. I think
that the picture was very tastefully erotic.

That point of view would not be so controversial had the picture been
a nude vixen dancing erotically around a shrine to Aphrodite, I
suspect. But to each his or her own!

Cool... I shall have to find the magazine at a local bookstore that
carries imported magazines. The web page offers design and
development of promotional material for businesses. Is this the right
URL? I am intetested in learning more about neopagan groups that
celebrate male eroticism as part of life and nature. Any other info
you have would be appreciated.

Take care!

Hello Vixy,
Do not feel like a fifth wheel lady Fox. I, for one, like females
very much indeed!

Romance is definetly something I love. I get much pleasure from seeing
the expression on pretty lady's face as I give her a nice big bunch of
flowers. Truth be told I would like to find a one that would return
the favor sometimes...The search continues :)

Sincerely,

Hrrm... wouldn't it be more enjoyable to do it instead of just
celebrate it? You can always party afterwards...
