Yourself
========
1. What is your name?
allli or aiz.
2. What is your email address?
[if you are concerned about spam, you can replace the @ with a *]
allliz*juno.com
3. Are you male or female?
female.
4. How old are you? / What is your date of birth?
21. July 21, 1980.
5. Where do you live?
Born in Norton, MA, went to high school in Amherst, NH, live and
college-educate in Bennington, VT.
6. What are your interests/hobbies?
Haven't heard that one in a long time. Socializing, committing
alternative fun (i.e. not passively entertaining- no tv, less movies),
walking, reading, doing watercolor, talking, researching, learning,
making things happen, being involved in communities (currently at
college), learning about where I'm living, exploring, getting lost,
talking to strangers, making good food, eating, listening to good music,
listening to good people…
7. What do you do for a living?
I'm still a college student. {: I'm at Bennington College (yes, on
financial aid) graduating with a B.A. in community studies this spring
and then getting my Masters in Teaching the following year. I know what
I'm doing. It's fun.
8. How would you describe your personality?
Haven't had to do this in a while either.
Okay, here's the standard rap. Open-minded, honest, passionate, curious,
irreverent, affectionately violent, fun.
9. Do you believe in ESP? Do you consider yourself to be psychic?
Why is this here? Yes, to some degree, though I don't think about it
very much anymore. No, not psychic, but I do believe in déjà vu and what
I call pre- déjà vu 'cause I've had it.
And the general karma/thinking thoughts kind of thing. Particularly
about health and wishcraft.
10. Are you a meat eater?
Not generally. When I'm living on my own or with my boyfriend, I'm
vegetarian 'cause it's cheaper and tastes good. Sometimes I eat chicken,
usually at restaurants. Drink soymilk. Haven't touched red meat in 2
years.
Furry media
===========
[more info: http://yiffle.cjb.net/fandom/]
11. Who are your favourite furry characters?
[e.g. Mickey Mouse, Chester Ringtail, Amy Squirrel, Sonic etc]
Swift the fox from David the Gnome. First crush. Other than him, I don't
really do the intake of mass-produced media anymore, but I did really
love TLK in '94 [mostly because I was 14 and it was my birthday and i
believed it was my movie].
12. What type of furry artwork do you enjoy viewing?
[erotic/romantic/pin-up, manga, goth, cyber/sci-fi, violent, action,
cutesy/toony, photomorphs/realistic, mythological, humorous etc]
Well-drawn things on the web. I've checked out the furotica stash but
more as an amusement. There's been some really well-done things on Yerf
lately.
13. What type of furry literature do you enjoy reading?
[erotic/romantic, adventure, cyber/sci-fi, violent, humorous/parody,
transformation/shapeshifting etc]
I don't, or at least I don't actively seek it out. I do own and have
read numerous times Williams' Tailchaser's Song and had a few of the
Chronicles of the Cheysuli but I've acdtually gotten away from
SF/fantasy. I read mostly nonfiction (never thought I'd say that) and
some fiction when I can find something good and strange enough. And YA,
which is the best genre ever. Phillip Putnam especially.
14. What types of furry media do you create?
[art, stories, music etc. Feel free to mention a URL here]
I've always doodled and drawn but never really thoght of it going beyond
the personal realm. Done some acrylic painting and watercolor painting
and enjoyed it immensely.
15. What types of animal/furry themed decorations adorn your living
space?
[posters, drawing, calenders etc]
Man. All kinds. Used to be more until I acquired some balance and
decorating sense. Self-done drawings/paintings, a few small paintings, a
calendar, postcards/photographs. I like self-done art. it's cheaper and
makes more sense.
16. Describe your ideal plushie.
Hehehe. Something with big soulful blue/violet eyes and a cackly grin
and reddish orange fur.
Costumes and collars
====================
17. Do you enjoy wearing fursuits and/or furry accessories?
[collars, tails, ears etc]
I never really have but I have no doubt I would. I'm too interested in
'normal' people [as an acquaintance put it] to separate myself out that
way.
I love tails. never had one, but thinking about it.
18. Do you feel 'furrier' when wearing a fursuit/collar/tail etc?
yes. quite.
19. Describe your favourite/ideal 'furry' appearance.
[e.g. wearing animal-themed clothes, fursuit, tail, collars...]
painted or lightly furred catsuit of brown/red/orange color, tail…
Furriness
=========
['phenotype' - the species of animal(s) that influence your feelings,
emotions and thoughts]
20. What are your phenotype(s)?
cats. when I was little, cheetahs, then as a teen, lions. now it's just
plain cats. I had a character on a MUD for several years that was a
firecat. I have many descriptions of her. definitely the best
descriptor.
21. How/when did you discover the identity/species of your phenotype?
pfft. 80 milllion years ago, you know, when I was born maybe?
22. What conditions help you to enjoy/express your furriness?
I don't really pay much attention to it until I go to a zoo or watch an
animal movie or read an animal book or see something about a segment of
the population and I remember that I've always been really attracted but
sort of secretive about furriness. but I would say that it's always been
all around and in me, as many of you would probably say. it's in my
movements and my personality and my tastes and my senses. you
understand. tactile. proprioceptive. spatial.
23. How and when was your furriness first evident?
refer to #21. when I was maybe 6 or 8.
24. How much of your furriness is 'instinct' vs 'learnt'?
Err.. I would say mostly instinct, with the learnt part just being
information from environment. I grew up with cats and my family loves
cats and I always had cat books and things.. yes, I taught myself all
the cat lore and cat facts but that hasn't really informed my furriness
as added a factual dimension to it.
25. How does your furriness influence your thoughts and emotions?
when I remember to let it, it grounds me and makes me sensual and
pleased.
26. Has your furriness improved the quality of your life?
it's given me a connection to an animal that I love. made me believe I'm
special. added some grace and fluidity to my movements. it's just that
dimension.
27. What do you think caused your furriness?
some natural inborn tendency towards felines, maybe, or being surrounded
with them while I was little. perhaps the past-life-as-a-cat deal. it's
instinctual.
Acting furry
============
28. How does your furriness manifest itself externally?
[conciously or subconciously; howling, walking digitigrade etc]
hee, I did walk digitigrade for a couple years as a pre-teenager and
thought I was really smart for doing so. get back into it occassionally.
other than that, it makes me more tactile and light on my feet. and
fast.
29. Do you act furry in public?
not intentionally or outspokenly- if yes, by accident.
30. How does your furriness influence the way you interact with people?
I don't think it really does. I've always thought about the people I
relate to in terms of the animal that they would be.
31. How much control do you have over your furriness?;
[does it have negative side effects; has it ever manifested itself
involuntarily]
hmmm. I feel like I have most control until someone goes and says
something about me being feline and then I get embarassed and wonder
what else they might have seen {;
Furry thoughts
==============
32. Would you become an animal/furry, if you -couldn't- change back?
Hmmm.
Not right now. Too much I can do as a human. Maybe next time.
33. Describe your ideal physical form.
A firecat, small and singe-y, with violet alive eyes. But able to
communicate.
34. What kind of furry, non-sexual fantasies do you have?
talking to cats. {: growing a tail. being undeniably catlike in my every
movement.
Religion/Spirituality
=====================
35. Is your furriness compatible with your religion?
sure. don't got none. certified, anyay.
36. Has your furriness led you to reconsider your religious beliefs?
nope. never an issue.
37. Have you ever communicated with an animal spirit?
[animal guardian, the spirit of a living animal, the spirit of a
deceased pet etc]
I want to think I have.. but nothing lenghty or especially meaningful
other than an attempt at sharing of thoughts/feelings.
38. Do you believe that you were an animal in a former life?
yes, I think so.
39. Do you believe that you have an animal soul?
what does that mean? hmm. No. maybe partly. just an influenced one.
Animals
=======
40. What animals are you most/least comfortable with?
cats. least, dogs, but I'm working on that. I had some experiences with
snakes, I like them. rats to some extent too.
41. Do you believe that animals have ESP?
not esp necessarily but that they can communicate on an
unspoken/invisible level, yes.
42. Do you think it is acceptable to hunt/raise animals for food?
Raise, not really, mammals at least. poultry I feel differently. hunt,
yes, okay.
43. Do you think it is acceptable to hunt/raise animals for fur/leather?
Raise, definitely no. Hunt, not really unless you are already using the
animal for something else and it's not rare/endangered. I still can't
imagine doing it myself though.
44. Do you think it is acceptable to hunt/raise animals for sport?
No.
Internet
========
45. What are your favourite websites?
[furry or nonfurry]
http://www.alternet.org, http://www.poems.com, http://www.nytimes.com.
My own senior project organization site:
http://www.geocities.com/aizfyr/sphome.html and a pet project [mostly
forgotten abou] http://www.geocities.com/aizfyr.
46. What are your favourite furry mailing lists?
don't got none. 'cept for you guys, now, apparently.
47. How did you discover alt.lifestyle.furry?
have been reading about furry for a copule years, always knew a.l.f
existed, never got up the guts to join it.
48. What were your very first impressions of alt.lifestyle.furry?
friendliness, openness, a listening ear-people were actually replying to
the furvey posts!
49. What do you like the most/least about alt.lifestyle.furry?
I barely know it, but I think it needs some interesting, multi-layered
topics/threads.
50. What would you like to see more/less of in alt.lifestyle.furry?
I don't know. I hardly know it.
Sexuality/Relationships
=======================
[Remember, feel free to omit any questions which you would prefer not
to answer]
51. Describe your ideal partner.
[species, appearance, personality etc]
I've already got one. {:
53. Has your gender preference changed since discovering the furry
community?
nope.
54. What species of animal do you find the sexiest?
[with regards to furry cartoon characters, pin-ups, real
animals etc]
cats.
56. What cartoon characters are/were you attracted to?
Swift the Fox, extremely. There's been others but none stick in my mind
as much. He impressed me at an early age. {;

Cheaper? Really? Maybe it's the Pennsylvania area but I thought fruits
and veggies always seemed higher priced for what you get. I don't get
nuts with meat and prefer chicken myself. Maybe it's this drought down
