So I thought the guy that got 3 two liters was nuts. Well, some old
coot in the old coot home ordered one sandwich and 5 two liters. 3
diet cokes, and 2 sprites. Over $29. One two liter costs $2.69 and
there is the $2.49 delivery charge.

Thing was it was 95 degrees today and 5 two liter cokes are heavy and
bulky. And he didn't tell me the front door of the old coot home was
closed and you have to go all the way around to the side. About 50
yard walk. In 95 degree weather, not very enjoyable... I finally
found him. He gave me $1 tip.

I walk home 2 miles toting heavier stuff than that. Hey, two or
three large cokes of the size you describe could easily fit in one
plastic bag. Just double it up. You should get a bunch of strong
ones and take them to work with you. Keep them in the car and use
them to carry heavy stuff. Just remember to take it back after the
delivery. And for the last time, I don't care what you do or don't
do, just be glad you get any tips at all. I've been doing what I do
for 33 years and make less money by far than you, and as good as I am
at what I do I still know that a tip is not supposed to be a mandatory
thing but rather a gesture of some sort of kindness or appreciation
from the person you're serving. And let's not forget the huge tips
you get when you least deserve them. It all balances out. You need
to listen to the Big Buddha buddy boy.

Yes, Kimosabe Buddha

Another driver said he got a $48 tip the other day. The guy he
delivered to only had a $100 bill (and drivers only carry $20 in
change.) The guy said he couldn't didn't have anything else and so
gave him the $100 for a$32 delivery!

From your story and from my history and knowledge of such affairs I
am guessing that guy is either hoping to get another delivery to the
hundred dollar guy, or he might be hoping to not get one because the
hundred dollar guy might use his one night of kindness as a launching
pad into the world of obligation.
