To me God represents the greater reality, the reason behind existence
of anything and everything. And the thus, the great unknown.

: 2. Can a person know God? (How?)

Not completely, the universe is so vast and we and our lives are so
small. But through science, philosophy, and other ways exploring who
we are and where we are, we can learn a little.

: 3. Who was/is Jesus Christ?

Something to believe in. Every religion and belief has something.
It doesn't matter if these representatives exsist or not. All that
matters is that a person's belief in their exsistence enrichs that
person's life.

: 4. What is the biggest problem, in you openion, facing humankind
: today?

Overpopulation and lack of values. As mighty as the human race may
seem, someday, something will come along to re-instate the balance
of things.

: 5. What is (how do you define) "sin"?

That which a particular society has deemed wrong.

: 6. How do you fell about the "church" (and/or Christianity) and why do
: you feel this way?

It's a man-made belief for mankind like many others. If it works for
find, so be it.

: 7. How would you define the concept of "salvation"?

Salvation is probably define by what you believe in. For me it means
allows striving to better myself at everything I do each and every
day until the day I die. And who knows, it may even be over then.

: 8. Do you think that there is only one way to reach God? (Elaborate)

No, how to reach God depends on your belief. So there's probably
as many ways as there are beliefs.

: 9. What happens after we die?

Who knows. Nobody in the human race despite what people may say.
But not to worry, when you die you'll either know, which means life
or something after death. Or you'll not know, which means you no
longer exsist. Non-exsistence doesn't sound good, but you won't
even be aware of it because you don't exist.

: 10. How does a person get to heaven?

What is heaven? A paradise with no more pain, saddness, etc.
Without these things, how am I suppose to define happiness? What's
right without left. What's up without down. What's a weekend
without a workweek. And thus, what's good with bad.

: 11. What is your philosophy of life?

Be careful to consider your actions and the people you come in
contact with because you when you die you just may wake up and find
you have to deal with them on another level.

: 12. What do you think is common to world religions? How do they
: differ?

Common - they all try to answers the questions mankind.
Differ - they are customized to fit within the culture of the
particular group of people.

I suppose you're right, but unfortunately a large number of the people
who need this sort of Easter Bunny nonsense are the same
people who make up the membership of the Christion Coalition, the
Ayatollahs for Jesus in the Christian Reconstructionist
Movement, and the membership of militant Islamic (and other) terrorist
organizations. They're the ones who "need" to mandate
the idiot creationist disclaimer pasted by law to my daughter's high
school biology textbook, try to stick people in jail or even
execute them (and succeed) for failures to observe mandates and
prohibitions based exclusively on the tenets of their cults, who
launch crusades, jihads, theocracies, heresy trials, inquisitions and
witch hunts. As soon as their need becomes certainty they
begin to see that disagreement is error, that error is evil, and that
evil must be erased at all costs.

Excuse me, but fuck their needs. Little children need to believe in
Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy, but except in pleasant little
movies like Miracle on 34th Street they're also expected to outgrow
that sort of stuff, even though few people have gone to the
stake for failing to put that tooth under the pillow.

They need it? They have access to it. They want to talk to the air,
fine. No Supreme Court decision has ever prevented, for
example, prayer in public schools. It just prevented enforcement of
government insistence on official public group prayer, an
item high on the agenda of your needy people.

Fuck Constantine the Great. That asshole is responsible for more grief
than anyone in history. Lions are the answer.

I travelled in India with this really funny monk, who used to tour
with Arlo Guthrie. Arlo's pretty funny too. Sometimes people take
Christianity too seriously, and say some pretty silly things. I had
to stop watching televangelists because they'd always say something
really funny right when I was in the middle of drinking something, &
the couch got messy.

I got robbed in my cab in the South Bronx back in '91 by a crackhead. After
he had my money, he slit my throat. Got the jugular (from the brain) not the

Hmmm...I haven't seen any trash about him on *your* web page...

I saw what he had to say about you and about John on his, and frankly I
can't understand how you can *not* take it personally. When my friends are
attacked, I don't find much humor in it.

There are "flamers" who hang out here in ALS without disrupting the
newsgroup or harrassing it's posters, but BDZ's not one of them - at least
as far as I've seen.

IOW, *my* sense of humor is *not* in tact, but my killfilter is.

To what end? BDZ'z behaviour on an uninhabited NG like alt.hoovers is

Why on earth attempt to make a silk purse from a sow's ear, life's too
short to even bother. I see no parallels here between our resident
flame-originated alser's who demonstrate both their appreciation of ALS

Then you have not paid attention to his recent behavior - he has
withdrawn from another non-flame group recently - that indicates to
me, at least, that he's learning. I may yet end up writing him off,
but I'm having a lot of fun just talking to him - or whatever you want
to call it. How many times do I have to say it? I will *not* censor
someone in a.l.s for what they do elsewhere on the net - it is none of
my business. Unless it involves net-abuse or illegal acts - then it
is everyone's business to see it stopped.

As long as his trolls get ignored it isn't important how or why. Not
that he's had any significant presence here lately - a fact which you

into defining "acceptable newsgroups" you're on *very* slippery
ground. It is acceptable to troll any newsgroup you want - sorry,

Because it's the only way I can reconcile the presence of Meowers here
with my own principles. If I damn BDZ for being nasty to people in

Errr, the difference being that the Meowers who have participated here
have *all* honored the a.l.s. FAQ and format from the get-go, whereas
the wankers have done their damnedest to wage *war* from the get-go,

stark contrast, leaving aside any activities indirectly related to ALS
he has single mindedly attempted to inflict as much chaos here in ALS as
he knows how to. Quite apart from his own irksome style of constant ego
masturbation, he's resorted to stereotyping the above mentioned ALSer's
as perceivable threats waiting for an opportunity to mess up ALS. Crap
- I don't see that happening, nor likely to happen in the forseeable
future. As I've said before, the concept of flamers choosing to balance
their UseNet life with an alternative such as ALS isn't such a
contradiction in terms, more a reasonable evolution even. BDZ's
one-trick pony hasn't demonstrated any sea change for this one here -
sure, he can behave himself on a.h but until recently that was just a
two-person dialogue and he just loves the attention anyway, makes him
feel important.

I've called BDZ everything that walks, crawls and reproduces under a
rock but I don't hate him! I'm not even sure if I dislike him? Some
of his posts have brought a smile to my face and that's worth
something? Even his web page is getting a LITTLE amusing with time.
I do, however, think he can be a horses ass! I have also seen
people around here defend a few of those too? Confusing?

I keep hearing that ALS is NOT a flame group. Well it's sure as hell
not Sunday school either! At any given time someone is tearing
someone a new asshole around here and so what? I recently asked
someone I know to stop in at ALS and here is what he answered. OOPS!
The email is on my other machine but it was something like "All I saw
was a bunch of people arguing. I didn't see anyone who wanted to have
a real conversation so I departed." I thought there were real
conversations going on but that was a view from the outside?
Oh well, please excuse the irrational rambling that has no conclusion
but there it is! I think I just wasted allot of bandwidth saying that
I don't think it makes much difference one way or the other.

I, on the other hand, *am* a pessimist. At least with regard to
anyone remotely associated with HFW except Gabby and Tom Harden. I'm

Binky. Am I right so far? Good! Then all I have to do is

I used to work with a guy who is/was a dj at a christian radio station
in Cleveland--WSUM??. I think he is a station exec. or something
somewhere else now. I saw his sig once and it had
rec.radio.broadcasting or something close in it. Last I heard he had
an aol account jimp???? Haven't talked to him in ages. He used to
